They won't be uncrossed until I drive off the tunnel!!

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2020 16:41

Hope all goes to plan magi

I've been cleaning and whacked my head off the wooden thing that goes across the kitchen window (can't think what it's called). If only I had some tennis to distract me Sad I'm having a glass of wine for medicinal purposes!

Fizzywinegum · 15/07/2020 16:58

That doesn’t sound good Jane - hope you’re ok. Housework can be dangerous! Enjoy the wine Wine.

I’m cold and bored and missing the tennis

magimedi · 15/07/2020 17:07

Wine will do you good, Jane. Deffo a cure all Grin

Fizzywinegum · 15/07/2020 17:11

I want wine now!

Raahh · 15/07/2020 17:16

Afternoon all!

I had a lovely lunch out at out favourite Turkish restaurant, with my mother. It was all very civilised, and we were there ages. Grin.

Magi I bet you are so excited.

Jane that doesn't sound good. Cleaning is never a good idea. Grin.

I have walked the dog twice today, and if the rain doesn't bugger off soon, I will be very cross. !

DS1 has just asked why I'm having wine and muttered "alcoholic" at me Grin

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2020 17:25

That sounds lovely Raahh

Raahh · 15/07/2020 17:27

Jane Grin yes, that is rapidly becoming the new name for me around here they are driving me to it.

It was lovely. I had sea bass. I always over cook sea bass myself, so it was perfect.

And a glass of wine Grin.

Jane Tell DS that having him (& any other DC) drove you to it!!

I am also off to have wine - am excited but also anxious. Friends who were meant to be flying to Austria on Friday, to see elderly parents, had their flight cancelled today & have only just managed to rearrange something else. Am so pleased we don't have to fly - am not thinking of flying for sometime. We have flights booked to Turkey for September but won't be going - just hoping those flights get cancelled.

Fizzywinegum · 15/07/2020 17:36

Everyone is drinking wine! Envy I think I would also get the side eye and alcoholic comment if I started on the wine now (just really fancy one!)

That sounds delicious Raahh - I’ve eaten out once since they reopened and found it quite normal and pleasant (unlike the pub and the hairdressers) Hmm

Really hope that you get away tomorrow magi - at least you’re not flying

I had a dream last night that we all had to wear spaceman type helmets when we went out - I think it’s all getting to me again!

kazzaD66 · 15/07/2020 19:45

I haven't stopped drinking wine! You need to have a word with your DS Jane Grin

Bon chance magi!

Was watching back the top 10 of Wimbledon women's finals this afternoon.
DS wanders in.

DS - Oh, white tennis balls!

Me - Yes, and they held two balls at a time.
DS - Why is the man sitting there holding up the net?
Me - He's not. That's the net cord judge Grin

It was lovely (until the final match and I'd fast forwarded through Shriekapova) that there was no noise and how quickly they played between points. No towelling down between points (or first and second serves! ). Ann Jones and BJK didn't even have chairs at the changeover.

Different times Grin

PrivateSpidey · 15/07/2020 22:16

holding up the net love it! Grin

It did strike me watching those old matches that the net cord judge didn't have a lot to do, did they? Unless they got hit by a stray serve or something.

Fizzy I like your dream about the spaceman helmets Grin sort of like Mysterio?! Just pass me a velvet cape to go with it and I'll be there.

Jane I hope your head is ok! Housework is a dangerous business.

Am envious of your meal out Raahh, it sounds lovely. Haven't managed to get that far as yet but hopefully this weekend.

magi hope everything goes smoothly for your trip. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

magimedi · 15/07/2020 22:22

I will try to log in to tell you when I get to La belle France.............. otherwise, no news is good news.

And as we will be in, or close to, the Loire, I think there may be a few bottles glasses of wine going down throats en vaccances!

JaneJeffer · 15/07/2020 22:35

Wine Bon voyage magi hope the journey goes well. I don't think I need to tell you to enjoy yourself!

PrivateSpidey · 15/07/2020 23:28

Enjoy magi!

Will be thinking of you! Wine

Raahh · 16/07/2020 12:18
Wine

Have a lovely time with your family in France , Magi -it's been a long time coming!

I feel a bit overwhelmed with e-mails from schools today, all about Magic September, when everything will be all back to normal, but not actually normal. So, I'm feeling a bit stressed by it all. There is no Wine in the house, only vodka- can't quite justify vodka at lunchtime. Well, I could, but I'd be asleep by mid afternon.

Grin

Afternoon

afternon sounds a bit like Rafa speaking French.

Grin Step away from the vodka Raahh

That’s why I didn’t want to start too early yesterday - I would have been asleep by 7pm!

Hope you are on your way magi - enjoy the Wine

JaneJeffer · 16/07/2020 12:53

I haven't a clue how our school is planning to get everyone back. Not heard a thing. DS2 has convinced himself there won't be school at all! I still need to buy his bus ticket anyway. I'm not looking forward to winter. I never do but this year especially. Fed up of this shite.

JaneJeffer · 16/07/2020 12:55

Now where did I put the vodka?

Raahh · 16/07/2020 13:20

Jane it's rubbish. DD1's head is basically acting as though everything is ok now. 1500 dc can all go back to normal. Just don't be late, and woe betide anyone not wearing the right uniform.

I give up.

I love Judy.

Our Sue is currently voicing a programme about the Olympics. I just got in from walking the dog. It's all a bit of a mish mash of events and years, and it is hard to keep up with what I'm watching. I did just spot Usain Bolt though.

Which reminds me- dd1 thought 'Bolt' was a nickname, because he was fast. Not his actual name.

She really needs to go back to school.

It's Beijing, apparently.

Rafa's year Grin.
