Jane they should. I would try to behave. Just don't let me have too much to drink. Grin

It is exactly 26 today since my (only) trip to Wimbledon in 1994.

Mac!

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2020 16:02

The speed of Rafa was unreal!

Fizzywinegum · 29/06/2020 16:07

The drinks cost too much to be able to get drunk at Wimbledon Raahh - you did used to be able to take your own - I’d be really classy and rock up with my fake Aldi Pimms Grin

It is annoying when you see all the celebs who probably aren’t bothered about tennis but just want to be seen.

Are Gavin thingy and Gwen Stefani big mates with the Federers?

PrivateSpidey · 29/06/2020 16:07

@JaneJeffer

Grin if Djok has been in the final you'd have watched Private

Fizzy I don't know whether Gavin and Gwen were ever big mates with the Federers. Certainly, I don't remember seeing them again. (I know they are no longer together, but still).

The Pimms thing reminds me of the story of the two Geordies, who went to a Mac final, and got plastered, because they didn't think Pimms was alcoholic, so spiked it with vodka, ended up very lairy indeed, and if I have remembered the story properly, were chucked out, and asked not to return. Grin.

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2020 16:14

God this was torture!

Fizzywinegum · 29/06/2020 16:15

Like the hat Jane Grin

That’s funny about the vodka spiked Pimms - now there’s a thought ...

Raahh · 29/06/2020 16:16

Jane it was. I spent a lot of time on the stairs (no dog to hide behind).

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2020 16:16

Gwen looks like someone who forgot their glasses.

Raahh · 29/06/2020 16:17

Fizzy- I have done the vodka/Pimms thing.

I might not remember much about what happened next.

Going back to an earlier point you made Raahh I just can’t imagine this sort of match being played behind closed doors - the crowd play such a big part. I can’t imagine this level of intensity without a crowd.

Raahh · 29/06/2020 16:21

Fizzy- no, me neither. It would be so flat. The crowd (even a very biased one) is such a big part of it.

I have seen football matches recently, with their faked crowd noise- you can't replicate that at a tennis match really.

I think I need some vodka Pimms now!

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2020 16:21

Yayy!!

Raahh · 29/06/2020 16:22

Yess!

Thank goodness for that. Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 29/06/2020 16:24

What a match!

Raahh · 29/06/2020 16:24

It does make me sad, that this Covid situation might bring a premature end to the Big 3. I mean, I wouldn't be that fussed not to see Djok or Federer play againGrin, but at the same time, I want to see the era played out properly, and not just fizzle out.

Ooh, C and A cardigan man.

Fizzywinegum · 29/06/2020 16:26

Roger’s cardi Grin
