Please recommend me a thriller series

Things I have watched and loved:

The Fall
Mindhunter
Top of the Lake
Twin
Unbelievable

Things I have tried but couldn't get into:

Ozark
The Stranger
Unabomber
The Sinner (loved the first one with Jessica Biel, but subsequent seasons dragged on).
How to get away with Murder

Can anyone recommend anything particularly thrilling? Series like Normal People and slushy stuff aren't really for me. Nor am I into comedy particularly.
I love thrillers and serial killer type dramas, and am unlikely to deviate from that Blush
Thank you!

Lastly, it doesn't matter if your recommendation is for something fairly old. Box set bingeing is a relatively new passion of mine.

The Code on Netflix - Australian government conspiracy-type thriller. I like serial killer stuff too but I was gripped by this. It won a lot of awards in Australia.

Thank you! Political and conspiracy stuff isn't normally my bag, but will definitely give it a try Smile

Line of duty
The following
Quantico
Luther
Happy Valley

Clymene · 21/06/2020 22:39

Have you watched Safe? It's better than the Stranger IMO

eatsleepread · 21/06/2020 22:40

Adored Handmaid's Tale too, but have seen it all.

The bridge

eatsleepread · 21/06/2020 22:44

@Clymene

I didn't make it past the first episode, but often wonder if I was too hasty on that one. I really did want to like it, so will probably go back.

I don't know if any of you have ever done online dating. They talk of some men on there as having a 'sweet shop' mentality, where they don't really settle on one person, and are always on the lookout for the next best thing.
Well, unless something grabs me from the outset, that pretty much describes my approach to TV viewing! There is simply too much choice out there Blush

Luther and Sherlock.
Old school Silent Witness
Old school Rebus

Alpacamabags · 21/06/2020 22:45

Forgot my all time favourite!
Wire in the Blood

eatsleepread · 21/06/2020 22:45

Keep hearing good things about the Bridge, and also Lost.

The following would be perfect for you I bet, very edge of seat/watching with hands over eyes

eatsleepread · 21/06/2020 22:56

Ooh, sounds great 👍

I do sometimes wonder about these tastes of mine, but can promise you I'm very normal and nice in real life Grin

The Sinner. Netflix (possibly prime but pretty sure netflix).

BumblePan · 21/06/2020 23:15

Happy Valley ( agree with suggestion above)
Homeland ( American spy thriller )

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 21/06/2020 23:20

Bloodline
Homeland
Aquarius
(& the following is amazing!)

queenjaneappro · 21/06/2020 23:22

Unforgotten- just binge watched this. Crime thriller investigating cold cases including murders and disappearances. Loved it. Think it's on Netflix and BritBox.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 21/06/2020 23:24

Criminal Minds? S1 Ep14 is one of the best things I've ever watched. Heartbreakingly so.

villamariavintrapp · 21/06/2020 23:36

The Americans-it's sooo good! Russian spies living in US

ThisTooShallPassHopefully · 21/06/2020 23:51

How to get away with murder. Me and DD were hooked.

BumblePan · 22/06/2020 08:11

@villamariavintrapp I agree, the Americans is excellent. I would love to watch it again. Where are you viewing it? It's not on Netflix :-(

villamariavintrapp · 22/06/2020 08:36

Ah it's on prime, yeh I think I'd enjoy it again too!

YgritteSnow · 22/06/2020 08:44

I'm really enjoying Cardinal at the moment.

Mumteedum · 22/06/2020 08:50
