I watched Corrie religiously from probably the late 70s (I remember Tracy's Christening) until 3 or 4 years ago. The Connors and their never-ending dramas plus Ken Barlow's sons and implausible storylines for Sinead were the final nails in the coffin for me. I watch the occasional episode now but there are lots of characters I don't know so find it hard to follow.

Raahh · 05/09/2020 09:38

Easily I don't think I would recognise half the cast- and they all seem to get married a lot- how many husbands has Gail Tilsley had now??Grin.

Really clever, gripping storylines in soaps seem to be a distant memory- and they all follow the same route of dredging up long lost families that no-one had previously heard of, endless pregnancies (and then the children vanish), and murders. Lots of murders.

Then you get all the soaps copying each other.

TDogsInHats · 05/09/2020 19:15

I don't watch the up to date ones. Just the classic Corrie. Currently in August 1995.
I find the current soaps are too over the top. Much prefer the nostalgia of last century/millennium.

I watch Hollyoaks, because it is so ott, I can suspend disbelief. Just the fact they walk around Chester wearing fewer clothes than on a beach, in mid winter, makes me laugh.

Lots of ex Hollyoaks actors have ended up on Doctors Grin.

Redshoeblueshoe · 16/09/2020 20:59

Has anyone heard anything about Doctors coming back ? I saw somewhere mid November ?
Lovely sunny day here in the northwest Grin

EasilyDeleted · 17/09/2020 11:34

Nothing concrete no. The weather here in the SE has been exceptionally warm and sunny this week, interpolating between you and me Red suggests it has probably been the same in Birmingham so they are probably filming Christmas episodes about now.

Funster73 · 23/09/2020 14:30

Ahh you beat me to it @EasilyDeleted.
Have you signed up?

EasilyDeleted · 23/09/2020 14:39

Well, I'll be at work. Usually if you sign up for a webinar you get a recorded version though. So I think I will.

MadisonAvenue · 29/09/2020 12:17

Ooooh! The word on Facebook is that Doctors is back on Nov 2nd, seems that it was announced on This Morning?

EasilyDeleted · 29/09/2020 16:16

Oh, I do hope so. I have started to miss it again now the summer is over.

Funster73 · 29/09/2020 16:43

Yay!

Redshoeblueshoe · 30/09/2020 14:25

Summer is definitely over here. It's cold, wet and miserable.

MadisonAvenue · 30/09/2020 15:38

It might be that the seasons are more in sync with real time on the show now.

Same here Red

TDogsInHats · 30/09/2020 15:53

It was lovely and warm yesterday, tipping down today. Just enjoying a few days away this week before the horrible slog of shorter daylight hours.
It's going to be a challenging few months for the UKSad

TDogsInHats · 30/09/2020 15:54

And on a more positive note, happy Wednesday everyoneGrin

Redshoeblueshoe · 30/09/2020 19:08

Happy Wednesday TDogs Grin

MadisonAvenue · 11/10/2020 11:21

Apparently the return date is going to be confirmed this week

FuzzyPuffling · 11/10/2020 19:01

Hello docTor watchers, and Happy Autumn! (Although possibly not in Narnia Letherbridge.

I've watch a bit of The Indian Doctor in the afternoons when it is raining.
And Ghosts on a Monday night - that's good. A few ghosts in docTors wouldn't go amiss.

Hope everyone is staying well and not collapsed in a covid puddle of weariness.

As you can see, my typing has not improved over the summer. Hope you can all translate.

Hello Fuzzy, Happy Autumn to you too. Hope you’re doing well, it’s a strange world still that we’re living in isn’t it. Hard to get your head around what we’re experiencing at times.

I’ve been watching Selling Sunset on Netflix, not the usual sort of thing I’d watch but I’m working my way through the whole series for the second time. I started watching to see the amazing houses and got hooked on the whole thing.

EerilyDeleted · 13/10/2020 06:55

I watched the Indian Doctor a few years ago and really enjoyed it but haven't seen it this time round. DD and DH have been watching Ghosts. I have been watching All Creatures Great and Small.

Looking forward to the Sarah Moyles directed episode.
