New thread...

Will Yasmeen get her freedom or will she languish in the jail (where so many have before her!) by the end of this thread?

Poor Simon. And Steve. He lost his son and had Emma hidden from him for years. Leanne is so selfish.

ProggyMat · 01/07/2020 19:53

Are the GCSE exams taking place on the cobbles?9

PoloNeckKnickers · 01/07/2020 19:55

How old is Simon?? Surely he isn't supposed to be sitting his GCSEs? He looks way too old.

ProggyMat · 01/07/2020 19:57

I thought Simon and Amy were Yr11?
If not surely not older than Yr13, then it would be revising and sitting A levels?

nildesparandum · 01/07/2020 20:15

I have realised that Gemma and ''the quads'' have been forgotten about as well. Not that I have missed her and her shouting.

Dieu · 01/07/2020 20:16

I wouldn't fancy being Nick over the next few weeks. Normal life with torn-faced Leanne = walking on eggshells. So I dread to think what she's going to be like now (sorry, I know that's unfair in the context of a dying child, but let's face it, she was grumpy enough at the best of times).

StillCoughingandLaughing · 01/07/2020 20:25

I wonder why they’ve never thought of introducing Toyah’s father (Les being her stepdad). She’s been in need of a decent plot for a while and that could be it.

Smallsteps88 · 01/07/2020 20:27

I actually don’t have any sympathy for nick if Leanne is horrible to him. He’s been vile to so many people, including Leanne. Time he had some of it back.

Fiddlersgreen · 01/07/2020 20:35

Amy is definitely year 11, I remember her being born as it was a few days before I had my first. I didn’t know Simon was the same age, I thought he was older.

I wrote a big long post yesterday about the Oliver storyline but I must have forgotten to press post!! I basically said it was too sad, the fact Leanne tried to have a baby for ages, the fact Steve has already lost a child.
I also felt bad for Simon when Leanne was saying the other day how Oliver was her only chance to be a mum, was very glad he wasn’t there to hear it
I haven’t watched tonight’s episode though

StillCoughingandLaughing · 01/07/2020 20:35

Also, Nick is a bizarre piece of casting. Are we really supposed to believe he’s not even 40?

PoloNeckKnickers · 01/07/2020 21:16

I'm sure yhat Toyah went looking for her father in London and ended up being attacked by a pervert. Did I dream that? Confused
nildesparandum · 01/07/2020 21:21

I should not have mentioned Gemma should I?
Guess who has just popped up on Corrie?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 01/07/2020 21:35

@PoloNeckKnickers - yes, she did! I believe her dad actually did appear briefly, as Janice went to see if Toyah was there. I think that was in around 1998?

NCTDN · 01/07/2020 21:57

Simon is year 12 so could be AS levels? Amy definitely y11 - same age as dd.

PennyRoyal · 01/07/2020 23:39

Simon born July 2003 so at college - Nick said he could ring 6th form college and tell them what was happening.
Amy born Feb 2004 so Y11 doing GCSEs (pre lockdown!)
Summer born 2004 so she could be Y10 or Y11 as no month given. But she did say she was revising hard so assume Y11.
Aldi and Asda born Jan 2006 so Y9.
Max born Sept 2006 - end of Y8.
Jack born Sept 2010 so finishing Y4, starting Y5 in Sept. (he seems older than that though).
Hope born December 2010, same year group as Jack, Y4.
Ruby born September 2012 and Lily born August 2013 so both starting Y3 in Sept.

Hope I've got year groups right!

When are they going to get back to Yasmeen??? Poor thing must be wasting away in jail. Let’s have a whip round and send Leanne and Oliver off to find a miracle cure in America- they’ll all forget about them in days.

Ritascornershop · 02/07/2020 02:14

That’s really odd that Max and Asha are the same age, he seems emotionally and intellectually about 5 years younger, ditto Hope to Jack. Hope seems about 7 whereas Jack seems more like 11. Irl Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha, is 17 and seems like it. Not sure about Max but he seems like a tall 12 year old. But I suppose he’s not meant to be a mental giant whereas Asha is very clever.

Iwantacampervan · 02/07/2020 07:48

You can get the classics on ITV Hub now. You couldn’t before, but they’ve changed the policy.

That's brilliant news - it means that I don't need to get up at 6am if I've missed the afternoon.

Willowmartha1 · 02/07/2020 07:56

I don't buy the whole Toyah and Imran partnership ! Would a hot, rich lawyer really be living in a poky flat with miserable faced boring Toyah let alone thinking of fostering with her !!!

Willowmartha1 · 02/07/2020 07:57

Not sure how much of Leannes miserable face I can take she was awful before the Oliver storyline, Moan Moan Moan ! Awful actress who remembers her comedy pregnancy walk ?!

Roussette · 02/07/2020 08:16

I am bracing myself for more Leanne, yikes. This could go on for weeks and I'm not sure I've got the stomach for it! Agree with the miracle cure, send off to America thing. I am hoping there isn't going to be some sort of battle with the hospital whereby she disagrees with their diagnosis and goes off with Oliver because only she knows that he's getting better. That could take weeks.

Kudos to the little actor lying there with her in his face the whole time!

PinkDaydreams · 02/07/2020 08:21

@Willowmartha1 I’m so glad you’ve mentioned the comedy pregnancy walk!! I was only thinking last night that that only seemed like last year but obviously not as Oliver is older than one Confused time has flown by!

Clawdy · 02/07/2020 08:27

Pretty sure there is no miracle cure for mitochondrial disease, and they're working closely with the charity for the illness, so I can't see that happening. But yes, I could see a story where Leanne makes some ridiculous decision.

thenightsky · 02/07/2020 08:29

I'm astounded that Hope and Jack are around the same age. I always think of Hope as much younger. Perhaps it's because of Fizz's style of speaking to her.

excelledyourself · 02/07/2020 11:00

I feel like Lily should only be about 3, 4 at most!
