New thread...

Will Yasmeen get her freedom or will she languish in the jail (where so many have before her!) by the end of this thread?

Just wondering what happened to the street market?
Does anyone remember? Didn't Chesney have a stall selling dog products?

Clawdy · 30/06/2020 14:53

What was really interesting about The Road To Coronation Street was the part where Tony Warren was rightly insisting on casting only Northern actors in the roles - a hard-fought battle which he won. But look who was in this drama - Celia Imrie as Doris Speed (Annie Walker), and, ridiculously, Jessie Wallace as Pat Phoenix! Apparently she had to have dialect training - and she was still completely wrong for the role.

Deadringer · 30/06/2020 15:44

Why oh why does another child have to be seriously ill/die? And yes how could Imran and Toyah foster when they don't even have a spare room. Does he have kids, it isn't mentioned on his corrie profile as far as i can see, just an ex wife. It would be interesting if Toyah got pregnant though, she would be looking forward to having her miracle baby while desperately sad for leanne losing her child (which again i think is unnecessarily sad for a soap and not remotely entertaining)

I think there were only two stalls! Chesneys dog collars and some dodgy jewellery man.

@StillCoughingandLaughing

Does anyone else dearly love Emma?
Sometimes, sometimes she's a bit too din it's annoying. She's incredibly pretty and sweet tho. Far too good for Seb, she should be with a decent and nice chap that wouldn't harm a fly.. maybe a young copper.. 😁
iften · 30/06/2020 16:56

Too many awful things happen to the Corrie kids. They really need to tone it down a bit.

eggandonion · 30/06/2020 17:10

I agree. I know occasionally I hear about a child who has a terrible illness or accident, but that street has about ten kids in it.

Deadringer · 30/06/2020 17:22

Emma is lovely, the actress who plays her has improved immensely since she first joined the cast.

eddiemairswife · 30/06/2020 18:53

Didn't Sinead have a market stall where she sold home-made soap and beard oil?

ajandjjmum · 30/06/2020 19:52

I saw a photograph of the new, slim Craig - I reckon a relationship with Emma was the motivation for him to get into shape! Grin He looked great.

eggandonion · 30/06/2020 20:32

If this doesn't happen we will be upset!

Bound to happen - the writers get some of their best ideas from MN! Grin
Honeyroar · 30/06/2020 21:26

Oh no I can’t see him and Emma together. Particularly if she fancies Seb. They’re hardly a type.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 30/06/2020 21:57

I love Emma - so bubbly & positive & always sees the best in everyone. She deserves much better than Craig!

Smallsteps88 · 30/06/2020 22:13

I love Emma too. She reminds me of Racquel a bit. I hope they give her good storylines and proper direction to keep hold of her.

Dougalthesyrianhamster · 30/06/2020 22:18

@Smallsteps88 They’re referencing the current storylines in the classic Corrie episodes as they know lots of viewers are watching that as well.

How?!? How can they see into the future?!
Isn't Classic Corrie the episodes filmed years ago??

eggandonion · 30/06/2020 22:30

The current characters are mentioning classic story lines, which are being shown now. I dread going back to work as I can't record itv3!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 30/06/2020 22:32

I’m convinced Craig is being lined up for Nina.

Grin

Sorry! I phrased that really badly. In the current episodes- they’re referencing the storylines that are being shown in classic Corrie at the minute on ITV3.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 30/06/2020 22:33

You can get the classics on ITV Hub now Smile You couldn’t before, but they’ve changed the policy.

woodhill · 30/06/2020 22:33

Yes, definitely filler scenes which add no value.

The only interesting story is Yasmeen and Geoff which has been forgotten

eggandonion · 30/06/2020 22:48

I'm not in the UK, and can't get itv hub either. Poor me!

Eastie77 · 30/06/2020 22:59

How can Toyah be considered stable foster parent material after the whole baby Suzie debacle. Plus living like a student in a tiny flat share with half the street. I cannot take her and Imran seriously. It is unbeliveable that a god man like him would take up with someone personality-free like her. It is even more ludicruous than her 'relationship' with Peter.

Smallsteps88 · 30/06/2020 23:10

Agree eastie

Dieu · 01/07/2020 03:46

The adoption storyline is totally unrealistic. I find it hard to believe that Ryan has no criminal record of any sort. To say nothing of a lawyer living in some flatshare in the first place Hmm
