The Lottery references being dropped like bricks was just before Lisa went off (to look after Granny Clegg no doubt) before she became unwell. So within a couple of years .
(It was well after Joni , Lisa and Zak had got back together )

Lydia inherited a load of money a while ago it was a customer of Bernices salon who died ( I think in the chair ) who turned out to be fabulously wealthy and Lydia's long lost relative .

From memory she was in a ton of debt because she couldn’t bear to part with the house where she’d lived with her late husband, so she had to pay off all the back rent/mortgage.

Didn't Lydia have to bail out Mandy and Charity over the casino scam when they were caught?

I am very close to turning the off button on Emmerdale permanently, it has never been so utterly dreadful, what has finished it for me is this ridiculous Moria and McKenzie storyline, are we as viewers supposed to believe that Moira fled her family home at 18 years old leaving her abused mother to fend for herself for the next 32 years without so much as a phone call to check on her welfare? I mean seriously?? and don’t get me started on what they have done to Cain 😡

I felt the same and it's been just over a week since I watched. The scene with charity and Mckenzie (? Is that his name?) where they crashed, but didn't, then spent HOURS debating it did it for me. It was ridiculous. Oh and dawn talking about how she'd been away ( for all of about 4 hours) Ridiculous- I can't watch whatever they're doing to Cain. Someone wake me up when things improve

Are the writers deliberately writing Mandy to behave like an abuse victim walking on eggshells and trying to appease her abuser? Paul has abused Vinny so it’s obvious why he would be fearful but it’s not clear why Mandy is afraid of him.

Why would she leave the money in the tin? Paul and Mandy are doing my head in.

Yes leaving a wad of cash in a tin when there is a compulsive gambler around is hardly a great idea and they're so surprised when it goes missing.
