woodhill no fair play you're right, jeepers can you imagine anyone being sacked nowadays for cosmetic surgery, there'd be hardly anyone left on telly or in a film.

Clawdy · 21/05/2020 08:27

Not sure it was just for the surgery, as I remember, she was giving some interviews saying inappropriate things, but can't recall details, and then she was on a late night tv show, and at the end was dancing and singing loudly as if she was a bit drunk.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 21/05/2020 08:27

On itv hub, it has an episode dated 23 May, is this a mistake?!

I think its Monday episode dated weirdly. I started to watch it thinking it might be Fridays episode moved due to football or some such.

woodhill · 21/05/2020 11:13

@Eleanora Grin

NCTDN · 21/05/2020 22:34

I was just coming in here to ask about episodes. I thought I was watching wed according to itv player but there's none listed for Monday. So I am really watching Monday's? It also has one for sat 23rd which is funny as that date hasn't even been yet!

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 21/05/2020 22:50

@NCTDN

I think Saturday 23rd is the missing Monday.

NCTDN · 21/05/2020 22:54

I've just watched that one (says wed but prob mon). When did they mention what they thought Oliver's condition was? Not this or the last episode? Or did they just not show it being talked about?

NCTDN · 21/05/2020 22:55

Ah so maybe I've watched them out of order?

CoolShoeshine · 22/05/2020 09:04

God I hope they start to focus on Yasmeen again soon, I’m finding the other storylines so dull. I really can’t take to the Bailey dad, Gemma or Leanne so not really concentrating on their storylines.

woodhill · 22/05/2020 10:46

Yes only interested in Yasmeen story, get on with it Corrie

Roussette · 22/05/2020 11:55

Yes, agree.
Is Geoff still in hospital an what's happening with Yasmeen.

DivGirl · 22/05/2020 19:38

I'm actually loving Nick tonight.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 22/05/2020 19:40

Sometimes I think they let the fray from film school director have a go at filming an episode. That's why we get episodes with arty cuts and merges and camera moves etc.
Next episode a tired director that's only ever made soaps for 40 years comes in and it's just back to basics.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 22/05/2020 19:40

This is such a dull episode. I hate when soaps do time jump stuff.

Itstheprinciple · 22/05/2020 19:40

Anyone else feel like the writing around the racism and homophobia is very contrived? Kirk's lines in the Rovers the other day seemed very unnatural.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 22/05/2020 19:44

Yes totally contrived. A lot of the writing in corrie Is now. It’s like none of them ever have conversations in RL with neighbours or friends or family. They don’t appear to know how normal people speak.

DivGirl · 22/05/2020 19:46

It's trying to be hard hitting with all these people giving big long speeches (seems to be one an episode at the minute).

It's boring.

More Geoff and Yasmeen please, and if we can't have Geoff and Yasmeen I'll happily just watch Nick being nice to Leanne for half an hour.

woodhill · 22/05/2020 19:46

It is quite good though but cut was weird when it went straight to the evening

Roussette · 22/05/2020 19:58

I thought it was quite touching at the end, dad and footie son but I'm emotional today so maybe that's it.

thenightsky · 22/05/2020 20:30

Boring and cringey, all at the same time tonight. I want to know how Yasmeen is getting on, poor love.

Honeyroar · 22/05/2020 20:47

It was a bit drawn out, so boring due to that. Could’ve been done in ten minutes without the huge monologue.

Honeyroar · 22/05/2020 20:47

But yes, I agree- how is Yasmeen???

woodhill · 22/05/2020 21:33

Yes a bit cliched in the Rovers

Rhinosaurus · 22/05/2020 22:01

It would have worked better if the family involved weren’t such poor actors and unlikeable characters. Just stop with the PSAs please.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 22/05/2020 22:14

Just stop with the PSAs please.

Yep.

In the last month we’ve had domestic abuse, Emma’s breakdown, Gemma’s post natal depression, David’s depression/PTSD, online bullying/teen sex abuse, homophobia, racism and now a seriously ill child, anything I’ve missed? I mean what more can they ram down our throats. We’re choking on heavy storylines. Enough. We don’t need or want it.
