Hopefully not before the end of this thread! Sad

OP posts:

Jim not recognising Liz would be a fabulous storyline. I dread to think what the writers are concocting on their zoom calls just now.
Ken is lucky he is home now, avoiding the Corona and being minded by his family.

Roussette · 20/05/2020 16:53

Now isn't that funny... I hated watching Jim don't you know Grin

eggandonion · 20/05/2020 17:06

He kept the same head but at some point had a nasty personality transplant.

Clawdy · 20/05/2020 17:10

Could never stand Jim, hope he never returns.

Ritascornershop · 20/05/2020 19:05

Ah, I really liked Jim, and I think Liz looks lovely (in a Street kind of way where the older women, bar Eileen, are always way over made up and over-dressed). I also think it’s perhaps not the best idea to be a bit harsh about her face as the actress who plays her has had problems w depression, so whatever makes her happy, you know?

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 20/05/2020 19:14

I never like Jim either so I didn’t. He had some funny lines/quirks though but wouldn’t like to see him back. The actor isn’t the most pleasant person either so when he was on screen for the last story I couldn’t see past his RL personality.

woodhill · 20/05/2020 19:24

Mind you lynne Perry who played Ivy Perry was sacked in the 80s for having a face lift

Roussette · 20/05/2020 19:30

I don't mean to be derogatory but it was gobsmackingly awful, her final scenes in Corrie looks like a completely different person.

ellenanora5 · 20/05/2020 19:42

I thought Lynn Perry was sacked because she leaked stories after having a few drinks.

I've heard that before about the man who plays Jim Chandler

PoloNeckKnickers · 20/05/2020 19:42

Builder dad's acting has reached the Dev standard of awfulness.

JemimaTab · 20/05/2020 19:45

I’m irritated by this Oliver storyline - YET ANOTHER serious medical condition like the many others which Street characters have (MS, HIV, brain tumour, kidney transplant, depression, amputation, epilepsy etc. etc.) which are swiftly forgotten about and thereafter appear to have minimal impact on their lives.

PoloNeckKnickers · 20/05/2020 19:55

Amy having a day off school Hmm

Clawdy · 20/05/2020 20:01

How could anyone like Jim when he was violent towards Liz ? There was a DV storyline.

Ritascornershop · 20/05/2020 20:28

I’d forgotten that, I think it was early in the days of me and Corrie. I am just a sucker for a Northern Irish accent, it’s my kryptonite.

woodhill · 20/05/2020 20:59

In 1994, "Poison" Ivy was despatched to a religious retreat from which she never returned - Perrie had been sacked from Coronation Street after having cosmetic surgery to give her fuller lips.

Just googled it but perhaps the other things suggested upthread didn't help eitherSmile

summerrose11 · 20/05/2020 21:02

I quite liked Gemmas speech on the vlog today. Given the vlog is cringey but I like what she said. Because it's all very true in the media world. Selling you a perfect picture, trying to aspire to be like that when it isn't reality. Good message

Honeyroar · 20/05/2020 21:47

Yes but it all felt like another miraculous ending to a problem - Gemma is all bubbly and normal again..

Redglitter · 20/05/2020 21:48

So Gemma has been to one meeting and is like s different person. The miracle of Coronation Street again 🙄

Redglitter · 20/05/2020 21:48

X post 😊

Honeyroar · 20/05/2020 21:51

😄
And she didn’t even have to go into the room at Wetherfield General that’s solely for residents of Coronation St!!

PoloNeckKnickers · 20/05/2020 21:58

A shame Nurse Aggie didn't bump into Tim & Sally so we could see how Geoff was doing.

Cheeeeislifenow · 20/05/2020 22:28

Don't really get Nick's reaction?
Gemma cured, after one group therapy session. In fairness to Steve, the doctor vis absolutely shite. They haven't given any information at all.

eddiemairswife · 20/05/2020 22:29

I still can't warm to any of the Aggie family; they are all terrible actors.

ReadyForActionRyderSir · 20/05/2020 22:53

On itv hub, it has an episode dated 23 May, is this a mistake?!

BreconBeBuggered · 20/05/2020 23:59

I saw that too. I didn't want to tempt fate by trying it out in case I got sucked into a temporal vacuum.
