Crikey, that was very brave (or stupid). Was that Sgt Connor?

I've just has flashbacks to Bones and the party...and nothing but those medals to remember him by.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:18

Yes it was Sgt Connor - they don't look particularly bothered. Poor Sgt Connor!

Ilovelblue · 19/05/2020 21:19

Sgt Connor won't be going back to Australia now, except in a box.

Sgt Connor did it to save Joe because he knew he was getting married. Ahh, what a bloke!

eejittwo · 19/05/2020 21:21

Aw - and he’d only been talking about the beach at Manly, too.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:21

No one can possibly get married without there being a problem..this is Soldier, Soldier. It's usually someone getting arrested or a hurricane to content with. At least they won't have Dave and Paddy singing at the wedding or worse....Marsha!

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:22

Here comes the cavalry....er….choppers. Where's Elvis on a winch when you need him?

Ilovelblue · 19/05/2020 21:23

More shooting at and by the rebels. The helicopter arrives in the nick of time but not sure if it can land with all those bullets flying.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:24

Come on Dave, you missed your calling. If there had been medics like Molly in those days, perhaps Dave could have been one.

Ilovelblue · 19/05/2020 21:24

This must have been a costly episode to film.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:25

Meanwhile back at the hotel, still no sign of the troops.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:26

Poor Sgt Connor in a body bag...do they always carry those? I suppose Molly had some.

Ilovelblue · 19/05/2020 21:26

It's hardly first class with British Airways on that helicopter, is it?

OP posts:
eejittwo · 19/05/2020 21:27

Did anyone see A Bridge Too Far when it was in recently? Michael Caine saying to arrive early would be bad form. The nick of time would do.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:27

Well, that was all a bit rubbish wasn't it?

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:28

Yes, seen that a few times ilove and I remember that line. Sounds about right.

Meanwhile back at Sun City.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:29

Jeremy has come back to his lovely nurse lady. Ahhh…

Jeremy has come back to his lovely nurse lady. Ahhh...

Ilovelblue · 19/05/2020 21:30

Jeremy is very upfront with his affections. He looks so smug!

Joe tells Colette about the mine, then Steve explains about the grenade and the end of Sgt Connor.

Another ad break.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:30

Flipping double post, but I think Jeremy deserves it being said twice Grin

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:33

Unexpected surprise for Jeremy - his lovely nurse has a daughter, but I suspect Jeremy doesn't mind, not if he loves her.

Rhubarb01 · 19/05/2020 21:34

See, he's such a diamond. Ahhh!

Ilovelblue · 19/05/2020 21:34

Can we remember what the nurse is called? I'm having a mental block.

Jeremy learns she has a child. He does look rather shocked. The nurse was married but her husband was shot.

He seems to adjust quite quickly. That's a very sweet picture when he picks the little girl up and they all hug and kiss.
