Surely that'll taste burnt though

What's that Claire is cooking, I missed it

fourquenelles · 15/04/2020 21:29

That burnt thing was a passion fruit caramel

Hearts of palm with crab and passion fruit caramel (?), ellen

I was there Aug-Nov, so mid-20s, afaicr.
If you mean the food, it varies. I stayed in a boarding house ran by Madame Chan, so more Chinese style food. The street food could get jolly spicy (but delicious).

PotterHead1985 · 15/04/2020 21:30

Ah yes. My blowtorch. I knocked it behind the fridge. Must fish it out.

ellenanora5 · 15/04/2020 21:30

Thanks Halsall not for me so

RomaineCalm · 15/04/2020 21:30

Is it just me wondering why they fly 4x contestants all the way to Mauritius to do two lots of cooking.

Surely there are other options that would give them the same/similar experience but without a 15hr flight.

PotterHead1985 · 15/04/2020 21:31

Don't say that. I wanna go somewhere amazing and far flung not somewhere I could go any day of the week

Halsall · 15/04/2020 21:32

Romaine quite. Sustainable it ain't.

ilovesooty · 15/04/2020 21:32

Perhaps we'll have Masterchef from Stoke on Trent next year.

ellenanora5 · 15/04/2020 21:32

I could live with that LaMarch sounds amazing

PotterHead1985 · 15/04/2020 21:33

If we do ilovesooty I'll never forgive you Angry

TheDogsMother · 15/04/2020 21:33

I'd settle for a day in Worthing at the moment

RomaineCalm · 15/04/2020 21:33

To be honest Potter by the time we get to the end of this Skegness will look far-flung and exotic! 😊

But you're right, keep the exciting destinations next season and then they can change it.

HMSSophie · 15/04/2020 21:34

They'd be welcome round my house tbh.

ellenanora5 · 15/04/2020 21:34

There seems to be a real mix of savoury and sweet on the dishes

PotterHead1985 · 15/04/2020 21:34

@romaine exactly.

PotterHead1985 · 15/04/2020 21:35

TheDogsMother · 15/04/2020 21:36

Am I missing something here ? Venison in Mauritius ?

ellenanora5 · 15/04/2020 21:37

Oh oh over cooked meat

ellenanora5 · 15/04/2020 21:38

I'm sure we've all asked before but how long do they actually go for

fourquenelles · 15/04/2020 21:38

Goggle tells me that Rusa deer were reintroduced to Mauritius in about 1630. Every day a school day!

OP posts:
HMSSophie · 15/04/2020 21:38

That's neat that they buy their own stuff. Is that usual?

ellenanora5 · 15/04/2020 21:39

Oh India just told me it's two days so far
