No spoilers blah blah blah

Oh shit, sorry about typos, was posting quickly before pan boiled over!

ChoccyJules · 02/10/2020 17:05

I seem to recall Aden’s wife died and his father figure went to jail, so he left the bay with a broken heart?

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/10/2020 19:52

Yes, that was Belle when she got cancer caused by the something, factory maybe?
I cant remember the rest apart from him being with Nicole.

CurbsideProphet · 02/10/2020 20:18

Aden and Belle 💖

I love Marilyn and Roo being good friends again. I want Marilyn to open a little salon and do her tarot cards on the harbour like she used to.

I don't like the Justin storyline. The Morgans don't need any more trauma. Poor Tori listing their dead relatives while telling Justin she doesn't want to lose him too 😭

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/10/2020 00:18

I don't like it either, let the family be happy for a while.
I'm hoping Roo and Owen get together, I'd love to see her settled.

Going backwards again, whatever did happen to that factory, or whatever it was that was making everyone get cancer?

SleepingStandingUp · 03/10/2020 11:36

Yup they've Def hit the misery reset button.

Dean and Zig
Justin
Bad Colby

Agree re Maz and Roo, also Tori and Jas. I think H&A does female relationships better than Neighbours

Aden's storyline about being abused by his grandfather was one of the best ones the show ever did. Unusual and brave at that time to have a story about male on male sexual abuse, and Todd Lasance absolutely knocked it out the park, acting-wise.

After Belle died, he had a brief thing with Nicole. I think in the end, he left "for the city" with his brother.

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/10/2020 21:57

Oh yes, that was it, I remember now.

Vikinglightning · 07/10/2020 22:26

OMG, I had to google Aden and Belle as I couldn’t picture them, remembered them as soon as I saw them!

And that blonde girl who couldn’t speak when she first came into it, long blonde hair, very pretty, was it Natasha?

Bringing back such good memories. This soap isn’t nearly as good now Sad

Does anyone remember Cassie and the sleeping with...was it her teacher and her getting aids? That was such a big storyline for them too.

And just the mere mention of Brax makes me want to sob. The acting from him and the girl they played Ricki was just amazing. Again, it’s just not the same now. The actors just aren’t as good (Tori not withstanding, I think she’s a really good actor)

Starburst8 · 08/10/2020 14:31

I miss Ricky and Brax... Actually I miss them all 😂

I actually thought about Ricky the other day when I read an interview with the actress that plays Amber.
Amber actress claims she's "the first to play a river girl"
Surely she's not as we've had the original river girl - Ricky and isn't Willow classed as a river girl?

Horseshoe5 · 08/10/2020 14:39

I reckon Too and Evans twin will hook up and head into the sunset.

SleepingStandingUp · 08/10/2020 18:19

Yes she's not the first River Girl

I'd miss Roo but I'd sacrifice having her in screen for her to have a happy ending

Just catching up on the last few episodes.

Ugh. Angelo’s wife turning up with her massage table and Dark Colby getting all into it was honestly the skeeziest thing I’ve seen on TV in ages. You could practically see his massive erection in those shorts

Ziggy’s being a real tool. Amber is awful, but why is Ziggy running away from her serious long-term partner just because “You’ve got so much going on right now”? That’s not how relationships work, Zig...

CurbsideProphet · 08/10/2020 21:33

I'm away this week and can't watch. It sounds like I should be glad I haven't seen Colby being more of a sleaze 😬

SleepingStandingUp · 09/10/2020 10:26

I think she thinks she's giving them space to bond but yeah, this was the guy she didn't go to Italy for, the guy she's living with (was/ and she's basically saying hey Ambs, here's a space for you

I’m a bit behind as I’ve been hooked to the final eps of Masterchef Australia!
But thinking sleazy Colbs pumping Taylor for intell on her detective hubbie’s case seems implausible- don’t cops have to keep everything highly confidential, even from spouses?
And I agree about Zig bring ridiculous- as Dean’s very close significant other she should be at his side from the beginning... so Jai goes to Dad and Ziggy’s for the weekend etc 🤷🏻‍♀️

CurbsideProphet · 13/10/2020 22:03

I didn't bother catching up with the episodes I missed. From what I can see the jist is that Justin has been persuaded to have the surgery, Mack and Tane are still making eyes at each other, Angelo was getting suspicious and had now managed to get Irene to admit Bella ran away (even though I'm sure Willow told her to not tell Angelo).
Roo and Owen are having a sweet time getting to know each other.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/10/2020 00:13

I'm a few episodes behind but basically yeah. Lance and Martin wouldn't sleep so o had to watch sleepy baby telly instead.

And Colby is speaking on Angelo's wife

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 14/10/2020 06:58

I am catching up slooooooowly - Bella has just had her interview with Angelo and Colby is just beginning what I suspect is going to be his slide into properly Bad Colby: "I'm just going to use Angelo's wife to get info". What a prince of a guy: this woman looks vulnerable and is clearly hurting about her shit relationship so I'll just make her life that little bit worse.

His character change over his time in the show has been well done actually - the dark and selfish River Boy hidden under the honest cop who went to such lengths to find his sister. I like the way it taps into the damage of his abusive upbringing. I also love the contrast to Dean, showing the one who apparently made good slowly rotting and the one who was apparently a no-hoper turning his life around.

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 14/10/2020 12:56

Bit of a snooze fest at the minute

AiryFairy1 · 14/10/2020 13:45

Yes, I thought we were in for a good few weeks of suspense and thrills but the pace has slacked off a lot. Now I’m just shouting at Colby and counting down the days till he’s dealt his comeuppance!

I think the whole Justin operation SL is so dreary - I can't fathom one family enduring that amount of stress and trauma.

I guess the Paratas will be next in line for regular stressy situations 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not sure what’s happened to Martha Stewart (Grin) - permanently attending art exhibitions or caring for sick friends?! Poor Alf!

CurbsideProphet · 14/10/2020 17:29

Oh I love that analysis of Colby OnlyLivingBoy. It makes a lot of sense.

I had also wondered where Martha is, especially with Roo and Ryder grieving and now Owen showing up. I can only assume the actress doesn't want to be a full time character?

CurbsideProphet · 15/10/2020 18:59

OnlyLivingBoy following on from your analysis I'm wondering if Colby is going to be like Hugo (the scuba diving people smuggler) - portrayed as very normal, doing his best, perhaps some dealing with the law when young, but actually underneath he's dark and unpleasant. Even Colby's facial expressions have changed now.

Oh I've just realised John is walking without a stick / crutch! A typical Summer Bay miraculous recovery 😃

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 15/10/2020 19:41

I think that now that Ross's body has been discovered, we're seeing a much darker, more animalistic side to Colby as his basic instinct for self-preservation kicks in. You can't be a River Boy and not have that survival instinct when the chips are down. Before, the drive was to save Bella (River Boy protecting his own, which we know they do - look at the Braxtons) but now he needs to save his own skin.

Don't forget he only became a cop because he thought it would help him to find Bella, not through some desire to do good.

CurbsideProphet · 15/10/2020 21:51

Ooo yes, Colby has only ever been driven by his mission to find Bella and defeat Ross. Being a good cop didn't come into it. Seducing Taylor is just part of his plan to keep winning.
