@Lucywilde

I miss Derek. I thought his death was rubbish and I couldn’t under why Mer didn’t call his family.
i think she didnt call them as she struggles with the idea of a family being supportive based on her upbringing. Derek wasnt close with his sisters either (if you remember the 'after the plane crash' when they were trying to get a nerve for his hand so he could operate again. he was also very cold to Amelia when she first came in to the series)

I really enjoyed this week's ep. Thought the backstories were great, some interesting writing - finally! Although surprised by Richard and Catherine.

The twist at the end of last week's episode was good but I just can't get on board with DeLuca.

bettyskitchen · 09/07/2020 14:23

I hit send on the above, before the last 5 minutes so I take back what I said about Richard and Catherine - trying to be vague to avoid spoilers!

So instead I'll say I agree with @Boredsilly :)

effiesgoldwig · 09/07/2020 15:45

I thought last night was a good one. I've been rewatching from the beginning and have just finished season 6 when teddy first arrived so it linked nicely as back then Hunt tells Christina that teddy has birds on her scrub cap because her best friend died in the twin towers so I'm very impressed with how well they've kept the storyline from way back when.

Really interesting twist at the end hoping all is okay there too. It left me wanting more which I think is the sign of a good episode.

WannabeJolie · 09/07/2020 21:14

Oh no what’s going on with Richard?

I always had a suspicion about Teddy and her past.

SlightyJaded · 09/07/2020 22:18

Teddy really doesn't give a fuck does she? I mean she will just take who and what she fancies without much care for anyone's feelings and then cry about what an awful person she is.

Granted it did seem that the backstory did look like the love of a lifetime, but still....

I think a bizarre filler episode was saved by the twist with Richard.

SleepingStandingUp · 10/07/2020 02:11

I called the Richard twist, then when it continued the next morning I questioned myself so was super gutted to be proved right.

I do wonder what Teddy's parents are like/childhood was like. She's actually pretty chaotic. Shaggged and fell in love with her froends/mates gf, then joined the army because she died in tbe Twin Towers, then got with Hunt even though he wasn't single, their relationship was a mess,, now the Tom stuff.

How was 9/11 been 19 years??

SlightyJaded · 10/07/2020 09:03

Agree. They would do well to explore some of Teddy's past - she definitely has 'issues'.

Richards behaviour reminded me of Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind - the manic episode when he was typing/euphoria/hallucination/confusion, but all out of the blue and compressed into six minutes!

burntpinky · 12/07/2020 08:44

I just bawl every week at greys. But then I’m pregnant and so everything makes me cry!

Mrsemcgregor · 13/07/2020 09:40

I enjoyed the last episode. I’m glad they’ve given Maggie a new toy Grin much better than putting her back with Jackson which is what I feared would happen.

The Teddy backstory wasn’t really believable to me and left me a bit cold, but McWidow...ugh that brought a tear to my eye. I have hopes for him a Meredith next season.

Richard was done well, everyone watching back in Seattle was dramatic. I wonder what’s wrong with him? I’m going to guess brain tumour? He had one before in season 1 or 2, Derek removed it and Burke was acting chief while he recovered.

Heygirlheyboy · 15/07/2020 22:26

Enjoyed tonight, except for Teddy and Owen. Delighted de Luca given a seat at the table. I wonder what it is. Also lol at Bracktons hicks!

effiesgoldwig · 15/07/2020 23:35

Agreed teddy needs to stop kidding herself and be with Tom. Laughed most at Amelia and linc panicking together.

And as for station 19 - I was a gibbering wreck sobbing my eyes out for a good 15 minutes at that one!

Dontlickthetrolley · 15/07/2020 23:43

Me too @effiesgoldwig didn't see that coming

WannabeJolie · 16/07/2020 09:10

One of the better greys. I actually really enjoyed that one.

I prefer Teddy with Tom.

Boredsilly · 16/07/2020 10:48

I enjoyed last nights episode, I must of missed it completely some how but didn't realise Tom had a child who died, Amelia was funny when she thought she was going into labour. Wonder what next weeks finale will bring?

Heygirlheyboy · 16/07/2020 10:58

Tom told April that originally when they were together as FWB. I like him.

effiesgoldwig · 16/07/2020 12:01

@Heygirlheyboy

Tom told April that originally when they were together as FWB. I like him.
He did. He also told Bailey more recently (this season I think?) when they were talking about Halloween and how he couldn't bear it any more because it was something he used to do with his son.
covetingthepreciousthings · 16/07/2020 21:09

I enjoyed this weeks episode, when it finished my DH said "did someone else write it?" Grin

It felt different to the rest of this series, I think maybe because there was no station 19 crossover, and it felt a bit more like the older greys episodes..

I really wished Teddy would get together with Tom though. Sad

bettyskitchen · 16/07/2020 21:18

Finally a good episode!

notreallybotheredaboutausernam · 17/07/2020 09:25

@covetingthepreciousthings I thought maybe the bit with Jackson sewing someone up on the ambulance was a cross over bit. Not that it mattered this time! I'm now a bit worried we won't understand the finale as they might go all out Station 19 crossover with it.

what was this weeks ep?
SleepingStandingUp · 17/07/2020 10:30

Not watched yet as I'm still trying to reduce from S19 (DH came down to m e clutching two sleeping babiesas years poured down my face). Us Greys less heartbreaking?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 17/07/2020 10:35

I feel like the way Grey's is going, we'll get a new cast member called Dr Drake Ramoré.

burntpinky · 18/07/2020 10:28

Thought this weeks episode was fab. Tom is really growing on me now that we’re seeing why he’s the way he is - though heartbreaking. Teddy should leave him alone.

Poor Webber. Hope they figure it out. Catherine is still horrid.

Love Amelia and Linc. I’m currently pregnant with second boy - if it had been a girl she was going to be Amelia after Amelia Shepherd

SleepingStandingUp · 18/07/2020 11:35

You can call him Atticus instead Burntpinly, it's an awesome name.

Yeah I really like how they've developed him. How heartbreaking for him to basically see his own deceased child in face born of another union
