I loved this show last year and was very excited to see a trailer yesterday that seemed to show series 2 was coming soon and was located in the Americas? But Googling it has revealed absolutely nothing! I thought I'd start this thread so that fellow fans have a place to comment when we have more info.

If it is the Americas, it will stop the contestants just copying last year's journeys, although I must admit I think the Europe/Asia route will prove more interesting as there's such a great variation in cultures as you travel east. But I don't know much about South America so looking forward to being wrong, and I'm sure it will be just as exciting as the last series. It'll be the people that make it - loved Darron and Alex from last year and their changing relationship/bond!

I'm rewatching series 1. I really don't like the winners. I was so disappointed with that one. Last night I felt much happier with the result.

Poetryinaction · 27/04/2020 14:40

I loved the winners of Series 1!

MrsJamin · 27/04/2020 16:01

Yeah I loved the ending of series one too, I won't go into detail to spoil it! The winners were very worthy of the prize.

MaggieFS · 27/04/2020 16:14

PLEASE PLEASE don't give too much away about S1! I'd love to stay on this thread to chat about S2, but haven't got around to S1 yet!

Kinraddie · 27/04/2020 16:17

There is a celebrity version planned (which won't be half as good I think), but filming is postponed/cancelled due to coronavirus. Apparently it was 4 celebs each racing with a friend or family member.

IsabelleSE19 · 27/04/2020 16:43

I would definitely have watched a celebrity version, but absolutely not as a replacement for the normal one. Just hope they can film it somehow later in the year.

Quite amusing to think of a c-lister having a 'don't you know who I am' type strop in Azerbaijan though! Er, no!

It will be the usual crowd - Greg Rutherford et al. The ones that do Masterchef

slimecentury · 27/04/2020 17:12

I have severe wanderlust right now urgh

MrsGrindah · 27/04/2020 17:20

To be honest I’m sick of seeing celebrities paid to go on expensive trips abroad

IsabelleSE19 · 27/04/2020 17:49

Joe Sugg? He never seems to turn anything down.

Although I'd pay good money to watch Gemma Collins try to prove her celebrity credentials, travelling cross continent. I bet she's already signed up.

StCharlotte · 27/04/2020 17:54

I'm rewatching series 1. I really don't like the winners.

Glad it wasn't just me!

Given other people did really like them, I don't think it gives anything away!

ihatethecold · 27/04/2020 18:38

The good thing about this program is the lack of celebs

mouldygrapes · 27/04/2020 18:47

I’m really confused tho - given Jen & Rob had the most money going into the last leg, did they really need to stop & work? I feel like they threw away a lot of their lead by being cautious, and I bet they finished with excess cash.
Really smart of Emon & Jamiul to dump their bags in a safe place. I’m really pleased for them.
And I’m not anti-Jen, she’s very emotional and expressive but not a bad person

Sarcelle · 27/04/2020 19:09

Watching the Celeb version will be for me, dependant on the celebs. This would be a long time away, so it will be people who don't have much on, or who need a career boost. Anyone high profile will be too expensive because of the length of time it takes to film. I don't want to see Joey Essex or Emily Attack in the Serengeti.

SwedishEdith · 27/04/2020 20:33

Agree that limited routes to the final destination made this less "fair" or interesting somehow. They could do a round Europe one where you have to to every country. So everyone could go off in different directions but they all must end up in Trieste or somewhere. Or they could maybe try to get to Australia?

SleepingStandingUp · 27/04/2020 21:19

I'm rewatching series 1. I really don't like the winners. snap. Asked DH to remind me who won, he said "the oens we didn't like"

I can't see the celebrity one being 2 months but glad it's with family/friend not two celebs. You'll get more of the real them if they're doing it with their Mom

ChipsAreLife · 27/04/2020 23:08

Oh I loved the final! Was great. The thing is with a race like this it's all the little decisions you make that can add up. I.e leaving your bags etc. I loved how dom and Lizzie went the whole way with their backpacks on!

I don't hate Jen or think she's bad person but we would clash. Her constant 'I can't do this' on the last bit was driving me mad. You wanna win dig deep or stop! Glad her and Rob are happy.

Loved the winners. Emon is one of those genuine kind people that make the world a better place.

namechangenumber2 · 27/04/2020 23:12

I think a race around Scandinavia would be good

JacobReesMogadishu · 28/04/2020 00:07

Yes, around Scandinavia and to Russia maybe?

SleepingStandingUp · 28/04/2020 00:18

The celeb one will have to be Lands End to John o Groats now 😂😂

peachypetite · 28/04/2020 06:57

I think Scandinavia would be too easy because everyone speaks such good English! I don’t think a celebrity one would be half as good.

Cambionome · 28/04/2020 07:30

Just watching series 1 for the first time. It's interesting to see all the different countries they go through but I don't think I like the couples as much as in series 2. The father and his son are massively doing my head in at the moment. Sad

Wolfcub · 28/04/2020 07:31

I'm not keen on a celeb one. I think what makes it is having real people

Samcro · 28/04/2020 07:33

watched the final last night(sadly knew who one. yes someone put a spoiler on a random thread) but still enjoyed it.
wasn't surprised Jo and Sam dropped out. they didn't seem to be racing.
really felt for Jo at the end. think she did well considering she must have known they had lost.
thought the guys were amazing giving so much money away.
