The Jane thing was never resolved. There was something about Bernie stealing a phone that had a message from Jane on it and finally telling Stacey about it. I don't know why Stacey and Jane were close friends at the time. Jane knew she could go back though and left a voicemail for Ian that he never bothered responding to as he had to do a shift at the chipshop at the last minute or something equally silly.Then Ian just seemed to completely give up on Jane and decided not to bother ringing her back at all. It was really vague at the time. Esp when they had been really close to each other at the time.

She didn't appear when Bobby went to prison or when Lucy died. Ian probably didn't even tell her.

I'm trying to think if it is going to be someone who has been under the radar for a while, like Tina, as that would give an element of surprise, or if it is someone like Linda as a pp has said - they give them a major storyline before the death to add to the drama and so we 'miss' them when they go.

I wonder if EE will go down a dark route of killing off a 13 year old and then Ian trying to cosy up to Sharon as she is mourning. That's pretty horrid though, even by EE standards. I don't get what they have against young people. I think it's a bit shortsighted doing this, as you then end up not being able to bring them back when they are older and you lose that link to EE past as in Martin, Dotty etc. You just end up with a lot of older characters with no kids/grandkids about - a but like affluent seaside town where all the houses have been bought by investors and no young people can afford to live there! They have had to bring Peter back with his 100th new head to add a bit more weight to the Beales family, so that says that they can't keep killing off a generation (I'm still angry about Abi going, she had great potential for being the next Janine-type character).

I think Ian said last week about Bobby ‘how can you love someone who killed your child’. Perhaps he will now be the killer and Sharon the grieving mother?

That's a good call re Ian saying that and him and Sharon relationship. Especially because he'll make it up with Bobby after the surgery and he won't tell Sharon about Denny being the troll or h8m being responsible for his death.
Plus as 2 original characters it would be a great storyline to continue until the 40th anniversary live scene with pre recorded flash backs

I thought Lauren was with another bloke? Wasn't it at Abi funeral we saw her wander off with baby (?) can't remember name. I vaguely remember she was going to move in with the bloke (wasn't he part of the max takeover thing? Son of one of them or something she met whilst working in Canary Wharf?). But I also remember she'd been questioning if that was the right thing to do so maybe she went back to Peter in NZ?

When Lauren wandered off after the funeral, she was leaving whoever the Takeover Guy was. They were meant to be off to Glasgow or Edinburgh together I think.

It was odd, the way Lauren left. Was it a guy called Josh? I think the left the funeral, walked towards Josh who was by a car waiting for her, but she walked past him? No luggage. Someone else will remember better.

I don't think Denny will die but I still think sharons baby might tho sadly, I don't think mick or linda will either - I think this'll be the turning point for Linda with her drinking hopefully! And surely there'll have to be some element of reality with the lower decks being checked before they all evacuate otherwise river boat cruise sales might drop off for a bit! (PS I hate boats ) and yes to pp saying about the bacteria in the Thames it's properly bad so maybe someone could die later from it or from secondary drowning. One things for sure they're gonna have to open up another special room at walford general - bobbys already had a head start reserving the first one!

Bobby is doomed as Super-Sonya is not giving him life saving brain surgery.

Yes I read some of the survivors are angry at eastenders for copying this and it's caused them anxiety - understandable! I was only a toddler when Marchioness happened but my mum was really affected by it for many years and didn't want me go to a school leavers ball on a Thames river boat!

@PattiPrice my preteen and his friends often record little voice messages to each other on WhatsApp rather than actually type the words or call!
