But remember what Denny did to Ian's son! And Ian didn't lock Denny in a sinking boat- he locked him in a room on a party boat. The person who caused the boat to sink was that bastard Phil Mitchell, and Ben knows that. He knows it was Phil actions that caused the boat to sink and Denny's death. The question is what will he do about it. Who will he tell?

Callum will be found - Shirley knows approximately whereabouts he is and she and Ben will go back and find him this time.

I think Phil will be desperate to make amends to Sharon. Ian could either have a breakdown again or look like he is completely grief-stricken and no one will think it is anything else- in which case he could get very attached to the baby if Sharon is living in his house.

None of us know why we watch this but we do! It's the web of lies that hold it together! Plus the acting is pretty good and we all know it's not true so that helps.
I wished I didn't get involved so much though but I do with novels and books as well!

Mammyloveswine · 21/02/2020 21:30

Oh god I cried!

Have loved eastenders this week!

MoonlightMistletoe · 21/02/2020 21:32

@The80sweregreat he sent the message before the boat was filling up with water so she'd have got the message.

tobee · 21/02/2020 21:35

I had hoped Denny would find redemption. Stupid Phil did a lot to mess him up.

It must have been weird to be young actors Hettie and Bleau to be in a soap and then be asked to come to the producer's office to be told you're getting your cards on the Big Night!

Can't remember if Charlie "Bradley" Clements chose to go?

The80sweregreat · 21/02/2020 21:35

Oh my ! Sharon will hear her babies voice on the voice mail and go completely ballistic. She isn't a gangsters moll for nothing!
I can see her waving guns around soon. Full on revenge mode.

MaddieElla · 21/02/2020 21:51

"Ian’s a hero"

Erm Grin

Disliked Denny immensely but that made me tear up. And Ian's reaction to him dying. Sad

Sharon's initial reaction: Meh. She's going to reject the baby though.

Cary2012 · 21/02/2020 21:54

That was immense, that was. [Channeling my inner Nessa].
Poor Sharon, a new son comes into the world as her boy leaves it. Very touching, and sad.
I think she'll reconnect with Phil, agree with PP, they have a strong bond.
Well done Twitney!
Callum will cling on, and Ben will find him, round about 8.25 on Monday evening, so relax 80s!
Daft and stupid if you think about it rationally, they're on one of the busiest rivers, in one of the busiest cities in the world, not in the middle of the Atlantic! Emergency services, river patrol, etc would be there within minutes.
Loved it though.

The80sweregreat · 21/02/2020 21:54

Poor baby Ken! She won't want him will she? Poor baby!

itsgettingweird · 21/02/2020 21:56

I agree that the way they moved scenes so quickly was very well done.

The80sweregreat · 21/02/2020 21:57

Cary: I wished I shared your optimism about the lovely Callum. It did not look good on there.
EE is bad for your health and well being! 😂

RJnomore1 · 21/02/2020 21:58

@MaddieElla to be honest I had forgotten he locked Denny In in the first place 😬😂

tobee · 21/02/2020 22:02

When everyone was saying let Denny die earlier in the week I don't think it was a problem because we really didn't think it would be him! He wasn't seriously on my radar!

Interesting what they'll do with Sharon/Ian coz they've both had children die.

tobee · 21/02/2020 22:04

By the way, Dh says lots of people online have been asking whether the episodes were really filmed on the Thames? Was it really London? GrinGrinIt does look quite snazzy these days, but mate, look! There's Tower Bridge! It's not Dubai is it?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/02/2020 22:05

What a tragic chain of events that lead to Denny’s death all the Mitchell’s have his blood on their hands, but Ian will get the blame and bear the brunt. I hate that now Sharon and Ian’s relationship will be totally destroyed, they could never come back from that and I think that’s really sad that the writers have done that as I always found their relationship and links to the past (and my youth!) heartwarming.

The80sweregreat · 21/02/2020 22:08

I didn't like the Denny character and he was vile to Bobby but he didn't deserve to die because of it. Ian was annoyed and angry ) who wouldn't be?) but he didn't know that the boat would be disrupted by Ben and Phil etc . It's always the Mitchell's that mess it up for him eh? Phil has a lot to answer for too.
What a blooming mess!

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 21/02/2020 22:08

Agree bettyboo! They’ve ruined sharon and Ian’s friendship.

The80sweregreat · 21/02/2020 22:09

They all have blood on their hands here.
I hope granny Karen will step up!

lazymum99 · 21/02/2020 22:11

Blimey. I’m exhausted. That must have cost the bbc a fortune to film. They got it in just before they lose our licence fees!
Funny how they all ended up at Walford general hospital.
And they let Linda and mick go without monitoring after Linda had to be resuscitated. Secondary drowning and all that. A really good week tho. Can’t wait til Monday.

The80sweregreat · 21/02/2020 22:11

Ian and Sharon : In it from day one. Friends forever.
Now bitter enemies no doubt. Those pesky Mitchell's!

tobee · 21/02/2020 22:12

Well Sharon will be blaming herself too! Sad

Might have to cheer myself up with a Classic eastenders ep or 3! Also, BritBox have got some random Christmas episodes from days gone by and I think they're still doing a free trial if anyone's interested!

Jeffjefftyjeff · 21/02/2020 22:14

I think there will be a slow tortured reveal of the facts over the coming weeks (maybe months?). Eg Ian hailed as hero, comforts Sharon; Sharon gets phone back and dries it out, hears message; goes ballistic, Ends up comforted by Phil & seems happier; then Ben for some reason reveals Phil’s role in Denny’s death ... or whatever other order of events makes the best story ! I hope whatever happens that it’s done well!!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/02/2020 22:15

Although I didn’t like Denny at all and thought he was a nasty little shit killing him off was wrong, poor poor Sharon not only has her son died but her link to his Dad Dennis and therefore Dirty Den has gone as well, on top of that she has lost absolutely everyone and everything, her home, her business, her husband, Ben, Louise, Keanu, oh and just so the Eastenders can twist the knife and punish her even more, her best and oldest friend has killed her son, they really like to punish women don’t they Hmm

tobee · 21/02/2020 22:18

The sad part being Denny would have been able to say that it was his fault (to an extent) and how Ian has tried to rescue him!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/02/2020 22:18

Maybe the Eastenders scriptwriters could get the death penalty reinstated especially so Whitney can get her just deserts.......
