I am not going to get chance to watch much more of this so this was a bit of a quick one...

I'm debating going for a shower now, and just coming back to watch the end Grin.

Fizzy yes, it is Frew- enough to send everyone to sleep.

I am sure in previous years they did not use him so much.

Thank you Raahh I seem to have had an annoying cold for about two months but it’s just got worse over the last few days - hopefully this will be the end of it!

I might get up now - just been reading about Kyrgios in the paper and Rafa's explanation of what he does and doesn’t like about him in Rafa-ese Grin

Their match is on at 8am tomorrow - feeling nervous about it. Kyrgios just seems to have a way of getting under Rafa’s skin and I’m sure the crowd (and commentators) will be on his side. Hopefully it will turn out to be a damp squib with Rafa winning easily in three sets.

Raahh · 26/01/2020 10:50

Well, I had a shower. That's an interesting scoreline.

I think Rafa finds the crowd noise an annoyance- but always thanks them for their support. And the crowd will be a massive factor in the match tomorrow- he doesn't like disrespect- and the crowd won't care.

Isn't Kyrgios on a probabtion period? He needs to be careful. His own supporters could end up getting him in bother.

Yay! Set to Marton.

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/01/2020 10:56

Frew is making a lot of excuses for Federer.
Shut up. I'm not interested. Marton could be playing the match of his career, it wouldn't matter to Frew.

Right- I have to get my Sacha head on and do the ironing. It's that or walk the dog- and since it's raining, and he doesn't want to go out, the uniforms win.

Fizzywinegum · 26/01/2020 11:13

I need to get my Sascha head on and do a few things - the weather is horrible now - rainy and windy - I’m just realising that I’ve not been outside very much in the last few days Shock

I can’t watch tennis because there are other people in the house watching other sports - it’s just not on! At least I don’t have to listen to Frew.

I think Kyrgios is still on probation - didn’t stop him from arguing with the umpire yesterday but at least there’s not been any chair throwing!

magimedi · 26/01/2020 11:15

It's November & December that do me in. I'm always better when January comes as the days are at last getting longer & I feel it's all going in the right direction. And the birds ha ve started singing again in the mornings & a few bulbs are poking up & I bet I am being as annoying as fuck! Grin.

Just back from a walk - think we caught the one dry hour of the day.

Going to change the bed & then will be watching the highlights on BBC. No sign of AC so far...........

Raahh · 26/01/2020 11:18

Well, Fed made light work of that set. Frew has stopped with the excuses now Hmm.

I'm considering watching tomorrow on Prime, but I expect the commentary will be just as pro Kyrgios.

Raahh · 26/01/2020 11:29

Ahh well Marton, you got a set.

Grin
Yep.

I'm listening on the radio, and Annabel is saying Fucsovics has just frozen since he won the first set - too many ice baths maybe?? Grin

Fizzy I like the idea of embracing hibernation, although magi I like your approach as well - I'm just not feeling it though. Must try mind over matter!

Raahh · 26/01/2020 11:51

I am bored with ironing now.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 26/01/2020 11:56

Briefly managed to wrestle control of the TV! Looks as if it’s gone a bit wrong for Fucsovics

Who is doing the BBC programme magi and what have they done with AC (locked him in a cupboard?) - anyone’s got to be better than Frew!

magimedi · 26/01/2020 12:05

Mark Petchey, Giggi Salmond, Stuart Fuller & someone else whose name I can't remember. Obv v low budget, but it's nice to see a bit of it.

Private Mind over matter it really is. We have to be very disciplined now we are retired or we'd just slob forever more!! In many ways I'm more active than when I was working/had young DC. Seen too many retirees just slump into a heap in the chair!!

JaneJeffer · 26/01/2020 12:13

I'm not watching because the play station is on the go. So much for our Fabio maybe beating Djok!

Some of my little daffs are out. Its quite a nice day here. We got the rain overnight.

Fizzywinegum · 26/01/2020 12:23

Nice picture Jane - I saw a load of snowdrops out last week and that cheered me up - I think we’ve got your rain now.

I agree about retirement magi - sounds as if you’ve got it right. When does the sea swimming start?

Looks as if Fed is going through

magimedi · 26/01/2020 12:25

Saw a group of women having a dip this morning!!! Sea temp is 10.1C.

Baltic! I start when it gets to about 16C - probably end of June.

Love those daffs, Jane. So cheering.

Fizzywinegum · 26/01/2020 12:27

Yay Mac - he’s an improvement on Jim Courier!

PrivateSpidey · 26/01/2020 12:31

Ah they're lovely Jane Smile

magi yes that sounds very good about retirement!

PrivateSpidey · 26/01/2020 12:32

Grin Mac, he makes me laugh

PrivateSpidey · 26/01/2020 14:18

Ugh Delpo needs another knee op Sad

Raahh · 26/01/2020 14:25

Oh poor DelpoSad.

I have a horrible feeling he won't be coming back properly from this. I want to be wrong.
There can only be so many times they put themselves through all of this- regardless of how old other players are, and are still playing.

Sad
OP posts:
PrivateSpidey · 26/01/2020 14:56

I know Sad

He's having the surgery tomorrow, so even if it all goes well and he recuperates as scheduled etc, even then it's going to be months more before if he comes back.

And considering he's already been out for over a year - to all intents and purposes anyway, barring those few tournaments last spring... Well. It doesn't sound great does it?

But he is only 30, that's young these days, and he knows how to make a good comeback... So I'll keep optimistic, albeit not with that much hope.
Sad

PrivateSpidey · 26/01/2020 15:14

Fake news, he's 31.

Still... Young-ish in men's tennis these days??

Raahh · 26/01/2020 15:25

When you look back on his career since he had his wrist problems - they started at the begininng of 2014, I think. And it took him 2 years to get back. That seems so long ago now. He was doing so well in the summer of 2013- his match against Djok at Wimbledon that year was one of the best.

He really has not had much luck- he really should have been one of the contenders to push the big 3. When he is fit- he really shows what he can do.
