It’s back! Anyone else love this show?

So who do we think is the murderer then?
Obviously it’s not the prime suspect.

I’m also suspicious about the police SIO and her pregnancy (medium bump/six months?- so got pregnant around the time Jason went missing), also she has marital problems and the deputy commissioner or whoever he is and her being his “protege”. Maybe I’ve watched too many dramas with plot twists though Grin The judo teacher was very odd the way she spoke to Jason in the first scene but maybe that’s explained by the affair. And who is driving the pickup?

Enjoyed last nights episode despite all the usual eye rolling.

Judo teacher interaction was odd: as was the comment about not having anything to put over him and that not being like him. Don't think it's her though because of the pickup truck.

Was just just looking at the allotments or was he looking at the man.

I think it’s something to do with the deputy commissioner - not sure what though

I actually wondered for a split second if Nikki's bf was manfred being he was acting so weird. I thought he was nice looking when he first came in the scene but he seems a little creepy now

Yes Jason was def looking at the man on the allotments.

Think there's something there Bearbehind. He's very keen to get Wilde convicted, so keen it doesn't seem like it matters if he is or not.

Claire acting odd too; lots going on there wanting see if there was another possible suspect, being told to just get Wilde and then being gung ho to do it; issue with her position of youngest DI (or whatever she is); marriage difficults and unusually close to Jason's family.

Jason's father's an odd fish too!

Bah! Just discovered this isn't on tonight because of bloody football

Ah!! Thought I was going mad, couldn't find it. I don't get why they cancel things on BBC1 for football, why not cancel the BBC2 or 3 listening for the football.

And if it's a crime against humanity to not have the football on BBC1 then put the BBC1 programme on 2!!

Gah!!!

When is it on?

Tomorrow at 9

Can't deny it: I absolutely love how Jack is amazing at everything!

See also Clarissa - instant expert on poisons, drugs, plants, viruses, weapons, every make of car, chemicals, aircraft, IT - you name it, if it's vaguely sciencey she knows all about it and has instant recall, no matter how complicated the issue is.

Report
Squigean · 15/01/2020 13:26

True. But for some reason I don't find Clarissa as amusing. Think it's because you could reason that while she' was in the lab she googled it and found out then. Makes the vast knowledge slightly more plausible.

Jack just knows in the blink of an eye.

It was good back in the day with Harry but it's totally gone to shit now with the new characters. Clarissa being expert at everything is laughable.

The only entertainment to be had is DH and I singing the theme tune and doing that high pitched wail at the end 🤣

I love it too!

I love this time of year as all my favourite shite telly is back on - Death in Paradise too

I usually record the 1st episode then watch them together, my memory is shocking and I can’t remember what happened the previous night if I leave it too long between episodes

What is happening? Part 2 of a completely new one?

It's so far fetched its laughable but me and DH love it.

Thought this week's story was pretty good. We both dislike Nikki's hair colour. I've always thought she looked young for her age but the darker hair ages her and gives a hard look

I do still like it, but it is not as good as earlier series. I was very disappointed in how this one ended. Very rushed.

Squigean · 15/01/2020 22:46

Yeah @Noeuf, I was a bit "huh?" When they were a discussing a different case, was trying to place the names in the Jason case.

Honestly though the brilliance of Jack was pushed to its limits tonight wasn't it? Involved in a van crash whilst unbelted and still didn't need medical treatment.

SouthWestmom · 15/01/2020 23:00

Thanks - realised it was Part 2 of a completely different one! Had explained to dh all about the online death grooming!

Hate paedo stuff in films/tv I wish they would steer away from it.

This surpassed itself in ridiculousness. Everyone attending the boy's funeral, Nicky in green leopard print?

Report
GertrudeCB · 16/01/2020 06:18

Wonderfully improbable ending. Jack catches the killer. BUT if I wanted to watch true crime I'd be on Netflix, Silent Witness is pure entertainment.

Report
MyEnormousTurnip · 16/01/2020 06:55

I really enjoyed it. Although them all being at the funeral was a real wtf.

Who on earth writes this and who reads it and says ‘yes, that plausible’

So the naked body of a boy was left in a refrigerated container in a haulage yard for a month, and it was running the whole time and no one noticed 🤔

What a load of nonsense

Report
Squigean · 16/01/2020 10:35

Ha!! Hadn't thought of that.

I was more impressed with how Jack managed to hang out of a speeding van, haul himself back in, tackle the driver and get thrown around the back when it crashed and still come out walking.

Poor policeman with the slit throat. He seemed to go under the radar didn't he.

Report
Equanimitas · 16/01/2020 17:06

They never ever explain why it's necessary to have not just one, but two forensic scientists present when they go to try to arrest the suspect.
