It was total chaos, really the music was too fast and made it look out of sync. That could have been lovely and it was too much.

Other than that, it was great

I'd give the show a 7.5 tonight.

I thought he fell too but then his partner pulled a move like falling too just after it. He deserved the 9.

Holly's dress was lovely and I really like the judges this year too.

I actually enjoy the judges this year too, all are very objective and give positives as well as targets but crucially it’s delivered in a polite way.
Jason Gardner was so bloody up himself and deliberately inflammatory- he seemed to think the show thrived on his controversial gobby opinions.
I don’t like JB for his OTT ego but I appreciate that he gives constructive advice and doesn’t seem to be spoiling for a fight week after week. JG was exhausting to watch and that’s not the reason I watch DOI! I watch it for people falling over, tacky costumes and a bit of a laugh!

They seem to be having quite an unlucky series in terms of people being ill, having injuries or just dropping out.
Yes, It looks like Alex 1 is out through injury and Alex 2 is taking her place for rest of the series.
Would love to know the real story re Caprice! I wonder what she’d have been this week - the wicked witch, the evil stepmother, or the bad fairy?

I have gone right off Matt Evers and I've quite liked him before. He was furious to be in the skate off and blamed the public for not understanding the skate. He obviously also thought going through against Kevin and Brianne was a foregone conclusion. I've voted for him and H previously but I won't again.

Anyway, although they have broken new ground by being the first 2 men to dance together I do think they’ve got rather big headed about it all!

I personally dont really mind her. I said further back in the thread that Flavia on Strictly has dated and married as many people as Brianne and Kristina, yet the blonde busty ones seem to get labelled as having a "reputation"

I do think that three of your dance partners (assuming I’ve got that right) is the point at which you start to look undiscriminating. Kristyna I agree gets an unfair rap: she was single at all the relevant points and she didn’t force the men to cheat.

I've just watched last night's.
Lisa was really wobbly from the very start, it was really weird. So to then score 7s just seemed way off to me.

Matt and H. Yawwwwwwn. John was spot on - they need to stop trying to make statements and just fecking ice dance. It's this attitude of proving a point - and mentioning something every week about how you're doing something risky/new/groundbreaking that makes people switch off. My friend who's gay is getting mighty pissed off at them saying they're doing something normal and that the public should just accept it - but then harping on and on about it, thereby making it not normal! And to say the public didnt "get" the routine. What was there to get? Was there a hidden message that the thick public just didnt understand? I have really gone off Matt this series.

Maura and Ben are amazing - look at how much they've improved since week one, it's incredible.

Perri, I am sure his "fall" wasnt completely intentional. Yes, something was meant to happen there, but it was far too messy for it to have been exactly how it was meant to go. And again, I feel 9s were just a bit too high - altho I do admire him, hes incredible.

Does everyone else score the couples in their head and then be really chuffed when judges score them the same?

The Mirror is quoting some fans as saying it’s unfair that Lisa was marked down for her fall and Perri wasn’t because no one knew if it was deliberate.
I presume it was deliberate as we now know the judges watch rehearsals and presumably they would have commented. But watching it again, the smoke effect made it very hard to tell!

I think the camera angle didn't help the viewer to assess if Perri's "fall" was intentional/choreographed or not?
Didn't quite get why H and Matt didn't use the music of Swan Lake if that's what they were trying to replicate.

The fall would not have been shown in the repeat segment if it was an accidental tumble.

If he was meant to do something there then he definitely fell clumsily but his routine was really quite dynamic.
I did think the lady from Corrie was unlucky but she was amazing last week, I wasn’t expecting her to be as good as she is. I hope she gets some of her confidence back for next week!

In H and Matt’s defence, I did see some posters on Digital Spy saying “why’s H dressed as a ballerina? that’s stupid, he’s a gay man, not a woman”. So those posters demonstrably didn’t “get it” because they didn’t have the background.

I didn’t catch their VT - did it explain about Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake? If not then that’s clearly an error of judgement on the producers’ part and Matt/H should put the blame there.

Mind you, if I were H I’d have qualms about having my VT full of shots of the spectacular specimens of semi-naked manhood that are the Bourne swans immediately before I waddled out in a mesh T shirt, feather bloomers and American Tan skates.
