And as we have had deaths the past 3yrs on ee - ray (18) Abbie (17) - ROXY and Ronnie (16)

Who will die tonight ?

I have various problems with the Linda storyline, particularly the random speed she's fallen into it. But, as a former lush/alcoholic, the NYE episode was spot on how it went randomly in and out. Along with the shame that goes with it.

You hear of slebs going into rehab where they presumably afford £gazillion bills but I don't know how easy it is for ordinary people. Linda going to stay with her mum in a pub not a great idea.

I kept worrying at the scene at the airport that Ben or someone would have followed Martin and Karen and the camera would have pulled back to reveal them spying. However, I can't imagine it would come out that fast, if at all.

Linda is going to come back from her mums worse isn't she. Her mum isn't going to know how much of an alcoholic she is.

That scene in the airport made me cry. Karen is a great character and the actress is great at switching between comedy and tragedy. Just like the lady who plays Jean. Both are very underrated I think.

I guess if you have a drink problem and run a pub then it's even more urgent to get help!
As people said, going to her mums pub isn't a good idea either plus she'll be able to hide it from her mum with nobody else around that knows how bad it's been.
Ben will end up in rehab too the way he is carrying on.

Karen is a good actress and very believable.
It's sad he had to go away , but not many options.
Jean will be terrible when Daniel dies.

Another one feeling sorry for mick, think this with Linda is going to be a big storyline for EE this year.

No, he had one in a fake name. Karen read the name out (something Anderson...?)

I think Karen is one of the best actresses on the square, certainly one of the most realistic.

I love Daniel and jean and really worry how Jean is going to cope when Daniel dies for real.

I hope they don’t just send Linda back from her mums ‘cured’.
To the pp who think mick is not being empathetic and supportive with Linda, no amount of empathy or even support at this stage is going to help. Until Linda realises she is an alcoholic and has to stop drinking for ever no one else can help.
Rehab is a joke without cash. The best hope is a few weeks detoxing and then you’re on your own.

It's a fake passport that Keanu got from somewhere. Adrian something his called now! Who do you go to for fake passports? Costs loads I bet.
Someone else got one last year but I can't remember who or why? They picked their one up from behind the vic I think!

He must have got money from Martin or in his wallet as he was going to run away with Louise Xmas day so he might have nipped to the cashpoint at some stage before that.
How he got his gunshot wound patched up without any questions or the police involved is another mystery but it's best to suspend disbelief at times. He looked ok. I'll miss him about !

Has anyone noticed keanu’s odd walk. His legs seem to be too wide or something. He waddles.

He does have an odd gait when he walks.

Sadly as I’ve experienced living with an alcoholic - there is nothing much can do till Linda agrees she has a problem

And she was drinking way before her Xmas day issues

I've become so over invested in EE that I've started to dream about it and this thread. I dreamt that underworld from Corrie relocated to the square, complete with staff. It turns out the Pansear brothers has bought it. We were all in shock in here as we definitely never saw that as a duff duff.

I haven't watched Corrie for years by the way. And I'm getting out the house to live in the real world.

Another one here who hated Karen and the Taylor family when they first came to the Square except for the lovely Ken of course 😂 but now she is my absolute favourite character.

I absolutely sobbed last night trying to imagine Karen's mixed feelings of absolute elation at seeing Keanu alive with the total heartbreak of not knowing if or when she will ever see him again. 😢

I’m so glad they finally allowed Karen to fix her bra strap. I think they pitched her character incorrectly when she first joined but is one of the best to watch now.

Wow I have just watched 2 hours of EE. I may never be the same again.
