I agree @The80sweregreat but do think they'll do a story where Chantelle realises that the children actually know more of what's going on than she realises and that'll either be the catalyst that makes her leave or they'll tell someone. I really want her to sort it for herself and find an inner strength to leave rather than being rescued by Mitch or Karen (although at the same time I'd get a lot of pleasure from seeing Karen kick his ass).

@tobee the women are also cleaners, shop workers, work on the market, waitresses or party planners (Ruby). I'm surprised they don't have carers about and they could also have taxi / bus drivers or office workers. Lauren worked in an office for a while but can't think that anyone else has.

Most of the women work in bars on EE : it's a high percentage. Karen was in the launderette , but that changed when she went to work in E20. We've not seen the launderette in months.
Kaff works for Ian and runs the new bar we never see. only new Ash and Super Sonia have a professional job. Honey is in the mini mart. (Now and again. )

So funny seeing Sharon and Ian having a touching reunion last night : they have been in it since day one nearly 35 years and grown up together! Although she didn't seem as misty eyed about it as he did I thought!!

Yeah Ian was definitely going a bit doe eyed over sharon. No idea why though- she’s a homeless 7 months pregnant woman with a 20 year olds baby conceived in an affair! Hardly a catch. They’re better as friends. I hate the way soaps have to always try and pair up any Male + female that know each other. Sometimes it’s just a great friendship.

I suppose he was a bit thinner / more hair / less stupid back then but he was always horrible and condescending. He plays it well but I've never been a fan. Maybe when Phil put his head down the loo ; that was harsh and his Woolley hat days and when Lucy died.. his another complex one.

Karen works in the laundrette. The Slaters are cleaners. Honey works in the shop. Ian and Max own the restaurant, Habiba and Iqra are employees. Whitney works on the market. Ruby is a PR person. Kat tried to be a cabbie. Bonnie Langford worked for the council. Lauren and Lucy had short-lived careers in rental property.
To be fair, there isn't much to do on the square, it would be more realistic to work elsewhere in London. Though if it had to be the square, a female undertaker would be good. Policewoman , though Max's ex Emma was one. They've never had a female mechanic in the Arches, though I can't see Phil countenancing that! Community midwife? Didn't Kim teach Salsa for a bit? Postie? Work in the Tube station?
