Is anyone else finding Mick’s treatment of Linda a bit uncomfortable to watch? He’s a bit threatening.

The80sweregreat · 02/01/2020 19:55

I called my mum from Southend once!!
From a phone box. Had 5 p in my shoe for emergencies! Lol

The80sweregreat · 02/01/2020 19:59

No wonder Mick is fuming though.
They are meant to be running a business together and all she has done is annoy most of the square and show herself up. He isn't aware of all the other things that's going on of course!
I think most people would be really fed up with her too.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 02/01/2020 20:02

@TheReluctantCountess I think that's just his manner, it's how he speaks to everyone.
Can you imagine if a man/father was behaving like Linda - being verbally abusive, staying out all night, vomiting etc... the wife would be advised to end the marriage and throw him out. I think he's being too patient with her!

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 02/01/2020 20:03

I’m so glad Martin told Karen. Just hope she manages to keep it to herself. She’s going to have to pretend to still be worried about him in public though.

The80sweregreat · 02/01/2020 20:05

Tough call for Karen.
She hadn't been told about Linda's involvement. This could be v tricky.
Ben moving out to where? It's like musical chairs on the square.

meow1989 · 02/01/2020 20:08

Ash's oldest brother has a lovely face... just me?

Also ash herself has very enviable skin!

TheReluctantCountess · 02/01/2020 20:11

Ash is beautiful, and I agree about her eldest brother.

The80sweregreat · 02/01/2020 20:12

Ash is very attractive. I am guessing her and her family will be a permanent fixture.
I'm sure that Phil will take Ben and co in.

Jellykat · 02/01/2020 20:17

So glad Martin told Karen, only hope he stresses why she cant tell anyone (not the whole story mind).. i.e his family will be in danger if it gets out.

The80sweregreat · 02/01/2020 20:22

She's bound to tell Billy though.
It will all come out I think and Ben will go mad! His already on the brink as it is. I fear for Martin : Ben will drop him off that bridge himself this time.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 02/01/2020 20:22

How is Mick being threatening? He's justifiably angry and Linda is a lying "nasty drunk" with an alcohol problem. He's been quite calm with her TBH.

(Nasty drunk in behaviour and what she's said)

itsgettingweird · 02/01/2020 20:32

Is Lacey Turner on maternity leave? If so she must be due to return at some point?

Glad Martin told Karen. I did love the scene where she gave Phil what for!

Agree Mock is being very patient with Linda. But he's also had his fair share of troubles and she's always stood by him which is what I like about their relationship.

Ben is certainly a man on the edge. Again loved his acting this evening. I think Lola is good too and hope they really use her again soon. I reckon her and Shirley could have some fantastic scenes.

What's with Ash's brothers? What history with family that they want to talk about?

Loved Jean and Daniels scenes but quite hard to watch for me as both my parents have cancer.

BreconBeBuggered · 02/01/2020 20:35

With all the fake murder and betrayal dramas, it's just occurred to me that I lost sight of Patrick's new wife doing a disappearing act with that young bloke (her son?). What's that all about, then?

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 02/01/2020 20:41

I think the whole Keanu thing is going to come out sooner than expected. I'm guessing at around the same time Sharon's baby is born.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 02/01/2020 20:42

Why is Sheree's son a secret? It doesn't make sense.

TheReluctantCountess · 02/01/2020 20:49

Was Patrick’s son (not the doctor, the other one) murdered?

whyismysoullost · 02/01/2020 20:56

Thereluctant Unless Patrick is the father of Sheree's son.

itsgettingweird · 02/01/2020 21:27

Didn't Patrick mention him and shree had dated once and re connected when he visited home and then got married? Or am I imagining him telling Denise that when he returned?

And didn't Sharon get pg before Louise? Surely if Ken split with her before getting with Louise then she must have been? So baby Peggy must have been extremely prem?

danni0509 · 02/01/2020 21:40

@itsgettingweird Louise was pregnant first because she didn't tell Keanu straight away and then she told him she was having an abortion if I remember rightly so I think it happened then.

iknowimcoming · 02/01/2020 22:07

Re jobs - have you all forgotten the amazing astonishing astounding albeit short-lived time when Lauren had an actual job in ........... drumroll please ......... THE CITY! ACTUAL CANARY WHARF!! Max worked there too for a while in the weird old days of Wayland Inc

The80sweregreat · 02/01/2020 22:29

Ben is very good. Very believable.

I sometimes forget that Ian and him are half siblings. There is a big gap.

I suppose Ben, Lola, Lexi Denny and Phil will live together and it'll be Kaff , Sharon , and Ian scowling at them the other side of the square. Kaff will be torn!

VanGoghsDog · 02/01/2020 23:29

didn't realise she would t be able to talk on Dots behalf without L P A in place

She just said she was her I think, the call handler wouldn't know she wasn't if she could answer all the security questions. The banks don't have voice recognition software yet. Well, some do actually!! But I expect if it doesn't recognise you it goes to a call handler and through the old style security anyway.

AutumnCrow · 03/01/2020 00:15

I couldn't keep up with watching it all so I read this thread instead! Thank you, everyone.

PremierNaps · 03/01/2020 01:24

I genuinely feel sorry for Mick in all this. So glad Martin told Karen.
