Only those with a triple PhD is bullshit will be interviewed. Unsuccessful candidates will be expected to lend their lack of skills to those that progress to the next stage.

1952?

I think she looks great and I bet she's not such a dragon off camera

noodlenosefraggle · 11/12/2019 22:59

I agree with you squigean I thought it was a bit boring. They didn't pull them apart as much of show enough of the interviews.

LaMarschallin · 11/12/2019 23:07

Ah - thanks!
Much better detectives than I am Smile
I'm afraid I don't think she looks all that great. A soupcon less of the nip and tucking wouldn't go amiss, imo.

I'm probably just jealous. Doubtless if I had the money I'd get lifted until my ears met.

noodlenosefraggle · 11/12/2019 23:08

I am convinced Lottie is fake posh and the whole thing is an act to get her face on telly and get into reality tv. She dropped her 't' s a couple of times and pronounced 't h' s as 'f' even though her club would reject people because they didn't speak the 'Queen English'. Apart from excluding very wealthy self made rich people like Linda Plant and foreign rich people, it was such a Downton Abbey version of what posh people do.

LaMarschallin · 11/12/2019 23:09

*until my ears met"
At the back.
Just to clarify.
Waste of money otherwise.

LaMarschallin · 11/12/2019 23:11

I am convinced Lottie is fake posh

Absolutely.

Skinnychip · 11/12/2019 23:12

There are a load of bullshitters within the candidates but I actually find Alan Sugar really arrogant and obnoxious, and cant imagine how anyone could work with him. He laughed and poo-pooed Carinas suggestion that she wanted to be bigger than Gregg's, but then was really patronising about small businesses and said he wasn't interested in a small business......so they cant win! Pamela has a brand that is already available in high street stores so not to be scoffed at. I'd love one of the losing candidates to launch a really massive and successful brand without lord sugar.. .

JaneJeffer · 11/12/2019 23:24

At the back. Grin

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 12/12/2019 07:21

I think the kind of people Lottie was aiming to invite to her club wouldn't want it - rich country ladies would have their own social round of lunches and shooting parties - they wouldn't need Lottie to organise them.

It might work if Lottie aimed at people who aspired to that lifestyle but had no entree to it - the sort of people who'd like to boast to their friends that they'd been on a shooting party and pretend it was because they were part of a rich country set.

Steala · 12/12/2019 07:23

I think the editing is getting tired. I don't need to see them receiving phone calls, getting dressed and reading business plans. I want to see more detail on the tasks and interviews. Does anyone enjoy the faff in the house segments? Do they ever differ between series?

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 12/12/2019 07:33

The editing of the interviews was awful. They needed to show much longer segments.

I agree, the faffing in the house doesn't add much. Nor have I ever been interested in seeing the winning team on their jolly.

In the main part of the series - the tasks now seem to have too many stages, so you don't get the feeling of the team being really stuck into something, it's much more like a swift overview.

I braved the Tom Allen show again last night and wished I hadn't bothered - even with two candidates to get through he still wasted half the screen time on himself.

The Apprentice is going to the dogs! Going to the dogs I say! Xmas Grin

Skinnychip · 12/12/2019 07:36

Their jollies used to be good, now I'm sure Lord Sugar just goes on groupon.

orangeteal · 12/12/2019 07:45

Absolutely, without a doubt. It was quite clear from her background, house, family, photos etc last night, I was quite surprised actually. I assumed she was going to live on an estate, upper class etc etc.

It also irritates the bejesus out of me that she calls herself a librarian at 19, librarianship is a profession that requires an undergraduate degree and postgraduate, she's over-fluffing something.

She was clearly there for entertainment value, she has no actual experience, they kept her in for viewers.

Biancadelrioisback · 12/12/2019 07:50

Where did they show her family home etc? Yeah she is an absolute fraudster

misspiggy19 · 12/12/2019 07:54

I’m surprised Scarlett got through. Lying about having a degree and other things wouldn’t sit well with me.

orangeteal · 12/12/2019 07:58

@Biancadelrioisback I just mean more from seeing the background of photos, family talking etc.

Did anyone see goth Lottie Grin

SouthWestmom · 12/12/2019 08:15

Yes why did Lottie not get called out for lying about being a librarian?

prampushingdownthehighst · 12/12/2019 08:25

I think she went to a state school near us, a good one, but not one of the many private ones which I am surprised about.

orangeteal · 12/12/2019 08:25

It made me cringe when she said she wished she had Linda's stare as she could make good use of it as a librarian, because she has clearly characterised librarians from the 1920s rather than understanding the profession at all.

Also it was pretty cringeworthy when they claimed the RAF entrance requirements were "gruelling" Hmm

MoobaaMoobaa · 12/12/2019 09:17

This^ I said exactly the same last night. upper class women out in the country are certainly not short on placed to be given the different season, and are hardly lacking in accessing equine pursuits either! (one of the events she mentioned)

Also thought the whole way through about the fake posh, it really showed in the train episode, it was obvious she had been silver service trained(it's drilled into you the correct behavoir and what's expected of server) and had worked as a waitress. This knowledge had not come from upbringing but from serving.

Plus, yes really annoying that she wasn't pulled up on the use of title of librarian, When everyone else gets there qualifications picked over.

MoobaaMoobaa · 12/12/2019 09:25

so many spelling mistakes and stuffBlush I CBA to but right, sure you get my drift though.

SouthWestmom · 12/12/2019 10:49

Still no pillows. It's ridiculous when they are just cheap pillows - surely they could have predicted extra orders due to the show and Christmas?
Might see if I can get a refund and order from Amazon instead.

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 12/12/2019 12:05

I find it interesting that Lottie isn't at university - given her references to having pushy parents starting her on the viola at 5. I wonder if she is taking a gap year. I'm not saying university is a be-all and end-all, just that Lottie gives the impression of being the sort of person who'd normally go.

RowenaMud · 12/12/2019 12:32

When Alan asked her if she had entered as a form of entertainment (or words to that effect), did I imagine it or did she smirk? It was around the time he quizzed her for not submitting any figures. Perhaps she is on a gap year and this was some sort of publicity stunt. When they said she hadn’t made even an attempt at doing figures, it became obvious she wasn’t a genuine candidate. Imo it was all a set up.

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 12/12/2019 12:54

Yes, my sister is silver-service trained and it shows when she dishes up food. We are not remotely posh.
