Those who are missing Strictly and feeling deflated after the final, we could do a thread for the donkeys xmas special as well as Glitterball special.

On 22 December 2019, ITV will air Dancing on Ice at Christmas, a special featuring all the series 12 couples, along with previous champion Ray Quinn and series 11 contestant Gemma Collins.

I thought Shimmy Jimmy was the new Jason but tis Barrowman

H from Steps was good on that acrobatics show, he's got this series in the bag I reckon. There's a lot of love for Matt as one of the longer standing pros and for what he had to put up with last year with The GC so him and H are bound to make the later stages with Perri and Libby. Michael Barrymore an early if not first boot despite being paired with Alex.

melj1213 · 09/12/2019 23:26

I see from Instagram, Alijaz and Janette have been visiting Emma at Longleat.

Looks like Alijaz was having a great time with the red pandas Grin but it's niceto see they're still friendst

Bluffin there is NOTHING that Karim could do that would make me change my mind and vote for him!

Kazza On second thoughts I feel that way too Xmas Grin

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 10/12/2019 07:11

She was about as steady on her feet than a blancmange on a spacehopper.

So was Karim this time!

NumbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsStation · 10/12/2019 07:47

Quite possibly Grin

Sadly I was far too distracted by the showbiz grin that I didn’t really notice his trotters!

ppeatfruit · 10/12/2019 08:30

Kazza it's true I'd forgotten David and ermm James who ?? But there are rather a lot of them at the beginning , that's my excuse Grin .

I liked the tap dance on ITT last night. with Katya pretending , very badly, that she had to be taught how to tap dance Hmm I get the feeling that since her contestant has been voted off, she's pressuring the producers to give her plenty of air time. Notice that the other women pros aren't given the same amount. Hmm I don't think much of her.

ppeatfruit · 10/12/2019 08:33

Oh yes when eyes\Emma was being carried about by the amazing pros in Blackpool she was wobbling like mad, I did notice that the gushing judges did not mention it

lynsey91 · 10/12/2019 08:38

Don't forget Emma and Anton have never been in the dance off despite being low on the leader board a couple of times (not sure if they were ever bottom). That means they were getting a lot of votes. Kelvin has almost always high on the board so he could have been getting less votes than Emma but still would have avoided the dance off.

I would not be at all surprised to see Emma win. I never expected Stacey to win last year but she did

Equanimitas · 10/12/2019 08:43

I could just about see a scenario where Emma could get more votes, due to the Eastenders/Anton factors and Kelvin putting people off with his political comments. Also just occasionally performers can turn things round with a really good final. I always think professionals really need to take lessons from Camilla Dallerup about how to put together a show dance that can have that effect.

Equanimitas · 10/12/2019 08:45

It's quite intriguing to think where we would be now if Jamie thing hadn't wounded himself letting Kelvin in. I suspect Jamie wouldn't have lasted to the final, but that doesn't necessary mean that Chris would there instead, because one of the other good dancers may have been up against a different opponent in the dance-off and survived instead of going out.

WhichBin · 10/12/2019 08:46

I get the feeling that since her contestant has been voted off, she's pressuring the producers to give her plenty of air time. Notice that the other women pros aren't given the same amount

Not sure that’s quite true. Dianne did something with a war veteran. Janette and Nadiya have had solo dances with the singers on a Sunday night. On ITT they’ve got to fill the missing celeb couples as the weeks go on, so any of the dancers could be asked to participate in the fillers. Just happened to be Katya. That’s how I see it, don’t think it’s any one pro wanting more air time.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 10/12/2019 09:33

I think it would have been different if Jamie hadn't been injured. Less different if Will hadn't had to withdraw.

I wonder how much public support he would have had so it might be that Dev would have escaped that fatal early dance off - I think he had potential to do quite well. Catherine is another who perhaps should have lasted longer. Of course, he may have done shed loads of dance as a youngster and danced like Kelvin...

billysboy · 10/12/2019 09:41

Its about time the beeb stopped taking everyone for idiots and gave the results on the same night and published the phone voting figures

DarlingNikita · 10/12/2019 10:08

Never forget Ian falling during their showdance
That's one of my favourite Strictly moments. I ADORE Ian. Bring him back!

I would love to see the voting figures as well. It'd be fascinating. I do think Kelvin might not be getting that many public votes.

lynsey91 · 10/12/2019 13:12

I agree that Dev went to early. Him and Chris were my favourites before the show even started. I thought he had the potential to go quite far but, of course, if you end up in the dance off with someone who dances better than you just in that 1 dance you go. I think the fact that he wasn't very well known didn't help.

Of course if Will had not left there would have been a 4 couple final. I like to think Chris would have been there (even if he likely would not have been!)

FINAL SONG & DANCE KLAXON Star

www.digitalspy.com/tv/reality-tv/a30181135/strictly-come-dancing-final-2019-songs-dances/

Bit disappointed by the show dance songs,

Kelvin - 'Shout' The Isley Brothers
Karim - 'a Million Dreams' P!nk
Emma - 'Let yourself Go' Irving Berlin

DarlingNikita · 10/12/2019 14:38

I like the Irving Berlin one, and it will suit her, but yes, they're a bit underwhelming otherwise.

Apolloanddaphne · 10/12/2019 14:45

I think Kelvin will win. It's a dance completion not a 'what are your politics' completion. I don't think that the majority of Strictly viewers give a shit what Kelvins views are.

ValancyRedfern · 10/12/2019 15:01

I want Kelvin to win. He's entertained me the most all the way through and Oti is my favourite pro dancer so I want them to win on two counts! As much of the audience are going to agree with Kelvin on Brexit as disagree so I think it will have zero effect on the overall voting even if people do care about it.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 10/12/2019 15:07

It's a dance completion

It's also a popularity contest.

LaMarschallin · 10/12/2019 15:11

I absolutely loved the "Mr Pinstripe Suit" song for Karim's QS.

LaMarschallin · 10/12/2019 15:12

Sorry - bit of a non-sequiteur there Blush
I'd just the list of dances on the link.

LaMarschallin · 10/12/2019 15:13

"read".

kazzaD66 · 10/12/2019 15:39

I don't get the Judges Choice picks. I thought they always picked ones that may not have been so good first time round, usually from nearer the start of the series, that have plenty of potential to improve upon, to show how the celebs have progressed.
Kelvin has been given the rumba (always a marmite dance) from week 4.
Karim and Emma have got crowd pleasing quickstep and Charleston respectively, which they both scored 39 for! And the latter was only danced less than two weeks ago! I thought in previous finals, couples weren't allowed to do their most recent dances again?

I can't wait to hear the judges reasons for picking these dances Confused
I smell a very large rodent....Hmm

DarlingNikita · 10/12/2019 15:52

I thought in previous finals, couples weren't allowed to do their most recent dances again? I don't know if that's a rule or not.

In JC, yes, they sometimes pick ones that they think can be improved; but they can also (and have, I think) picked ones that were good first time that they just want to see again. I guess even in those cases there's an argument that they might be EVEN better now with that bit more experience and confidence.
Rumbas are often marmite, but my impression is that a LOT of people liked Kelvin's, so I don't think it's necessarily a disadvantage.
