I agree with most of your reasons for SCD rage Schady IMO it's in the zeitgeist of the medja luvvies at the moment to throw everything they can at their productions, The "Less is More ' philosophy is lost on them; Karim's dancing is an example, as is The Greatest Dancer which could have been a good idea but was a pile of shite . The little winner is a good example of the extremes which seem to be the 'thing' now.

I have a feeling that the producers have shares in the deaf aid industry. One cannot hear the shows properly for the hysteria.

Also a skilful dress designer, costume maker can remake, redo etc costumes , we mustn't forget that the environment is badly affected by all these new dresses worn by Tess n' Claude and the judges etc. It's about time that SCD got it's green credentials together.

If half danced the same Latin and the other half danced the same ballroom each week then the samba wouldn't be the kiss of death with loads of people going out on it just the worst samba in each half.

I agree they should go back to same Latin, same ballroom. As well as being fairer, it just made each episode of the show more cohesive.

And we need a Len substitute to tell them to "stop faffin' abaht" and pull them on the illegal lifts etc --- it seems to be anything goes these days, and it hasn't improved the show.

Let's just have the contestants dancing, rather than "telling a story" FFS!

Schadenfreude, my household yells as one 'Muckin' abaaaaaaaht' whenever anyone starts faffing with benches/umbrellas/extra dancers which is almost every fecking dance these days.

Also, remember him accusing the (usually a female) pro dancers of 'flatulatin' araaand' the man as he just stood there, usually in a paso or rumba?

She was brutal, but all of her criticism was constructive, and dancers who took it on board improved enormously.

@SchadenfreudePersonified yes I know I would love to see them go back to it so you could actually compare performances.

My suggestion for a gimmick special week would be a partner swap so we can see how celebs reacted to different training methods/ partners. Having the same pro most of the time would allow them to get to know and trust someone but we might get to see a different side to them when they swap.

The internet is already on its knees when the celebs stay with their designated partners for the whole series.

Imagine the possible consequences if they changed their partners as often as they changed their knickers.

Yes, I liked Arlene. She was great at spotting and defining the vibe between a couple: I remember Matthew and Carol Smillie being described as having 'something so innocent' about them and Brenda and Claire King (?) having 'something so raunchy'. Both spot on.

Yes, it was certainly easier to compare dances and dancers when they were doing the same thing. It would be more straightforward come the dance off aswell because inevitably, there are always some dances that look better or are more difficult than others, so comparing like for like would be easier.

I thought Motsi looked so much better on ITT than on the weekend shows. Wearing less make up, or certainly not having half a ton of glittery eye shadow on, made her look about ten years younger.
