Your Christmas alter ego checked into the 2018 comedown thread Schady

It all seems lost in the mists of time now...

Katya was in yesterday's group dance with Bruno singing.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/11/2019 23:47

Aw, feel quite nostalgic reading that thread!

VanyaHargreeves · 25/11/2019 00:01

To answer a question put to me earlier

Is Karim a ringer or not?

At Sylvia Young they do academics Mon-Wed and Dance/Drama/Singing Thursday and Friday

He went when he was in Year 6 and remained there for his school career

Answers on a postcard to the BBC Grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 25/11/2019 00:03

Yes, it is. It shows the bendiness painfully quite well!

I was chatting to somebody at a ballroom competition and they were saying that teachers (ballroom, ballet, disco freestyle) are all competing for the same children, but because the freestyle is flashy and has all those tricks children tend to like the idea. I wonder if that's why acro is taking off, to compete?

Although I had to re-read the post that called it that — to me acro is acrobatic rock and roll, which is quite different!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 25/11/2019 00:05

Which is even more jaw-dropping that all the bendiness when you first see it. Perhaps we should see if Kar can manage ? Grin The show would have to have good insurance!

altiara · 25/11/2019 00:18

I love that polka, it’s aerobics for Olympic gymnasts!

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 25/11/2019 01:56

Aw I came on that thread kitchen on Xmas Day itself (I had a new tablecloth so was BeholdTheNewTablecloth), I was very irate about Curtis and AJ getting hurt in Nantwich. This year has gone by in a blur and cannot believe we are at Musicals Week already.
I look forward to your Post Mortem thread this year too kitchen and if you watch Dancing On Ice some of us turn up on there too, they are having a same sex skating partnership this year and I thought I read somewhere that Shimmy Jimmy James Jordan was judging?

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 25/11/2019 01:59

Polka that was both frenetic and jaw-droppingly impressive, thank you X

WineOrGinOrBoth · 25/11/2019 06:39

I don’t care who is in the final except I don’t want Karim or Kelvin. Grin

Hell's Bells.

My mind is going already - have I not got enough to cope with?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/11/2019 07:59

I don't want Karim wither, because I think he is neither nowt nor summat (as we say in t'North) - and Iwent right off Kelivn when he played that rotten trick on his dad.

Poor man got a haircut and deodorant and everything. I think that was a bit cruel, he kept it going too long, and I didn't like it.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/11/2019 08:00

*either, not wither

Fuckit! Hmm

WineOrGinOrBoth · 25/11/2019 08:02

Quite Schad Who does that? For that long? I don’t know I just thought it was nasty.

Wheresthebeach · 25/11/2019 08:09

I dream of Kelvin and Karim being in the dance off. I don't really like either of them, but particularly Kelvin, although I love Oti. Fear the judges will save them in any DO situation unless against each other (to be fair they have to judge on the dancing so it's a bit of a no brainer).

Saffron quoted in news that they asked not to dance the Samba as AJ always goes out on it. That rather supports the spoiled kid theory. I can't imagine the producers being keen on celebs asking to avoid dances that their professionals aren't good at! All she's done now is set in everyone's mind that AJ isn't good at teaching/doing the Samba. I think the reality is its just a hard dance.

I really like Chris, but I wish he'd stop pulling those faces during the 'dance off' announcement section. It was kinda cute to begin with...getting less so now.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 25/11/2019 08:15

That’s exactly what I said to dh last night. I’d love to see the judges hyperventilating that their favourites were in the DO. I’ve gone right off kelvin after Last night. But I didn’t like him much anyway.

AppleKatie · 25/11/2019 08:44

What trick on his dad? What did I miss?

PermanentPortakabin · 25/11/2019 08:46

Re: Saffron and the samba. There are enough dances for them to be able to avoid the samba, aren’t there? Especially now with couple’s choice. James Jordan was implying on Twitter that he always avoided it.

So is Saffron saying they weren’t allowed to avoid it? I feel for them if that is the case.

AppleKatie · 25/11/2019 08:48

Surely they get told what to do? If they can choose that doesn’t seem fair?

I see about Kelvins dad depends on the family dynamic I guess, either hilarious or cruel.

Costacoffeeplease · 25/11/2019 08:49

I feel sorry for Kelvin’s dad too, I was supporting him but that’s put me right off, twat

JumpyLiz · 25/11/2019 08:52

I missed the dad thing somehow as well!

Slightly surprised to find that Dad's Not Actually Dead. I heard him say something on Saturday about his dad 'will be up there dancing along' and presumed he meant heaven, not Yorkshire Confused

I must start paying more attention Grin

Wheresthebeach · 25/11/2019 09:02

I assume they get told...precious few Rhumba's this year so far (which is a good thing..anyone other than Kelvin and Emma?) I really don't think you can have them requesting dances, or avoiding dances. Imagine juggling all the various demands - and where does it end?

Figgygal · 25/11/2019 09:02

I actually don't care who wins this year Sad

Wheresthebeach · 25/11/2019 09:04

The bit with Kelvin's dad makes me dislike him more...imagine letting him book a day off work, and then showing the clip of him dancing on TV so everyone can laugh at him?

Maybe his Dad thinks it's hilarious...but Hmm
