It's not quite time to don your woolly jumpers or stoke up your log fires for the winter - still some tennis to be played this season!

An exciting, mathematically challenging WTFs continues, new Davis Cup soon, etc...

I have finally got control of the telly!

Raahh · 04/12/2019 21:19

By my calculations , this should be over soon.

I've been out and gone to the shops, collected dd1 from a youth club and it's still on.

But then he will want to listen to the boring after match waffle.

I want to watch a Christmas film , that I have probably seen before. Just because.

PrivateSpidey · 04/12/2019 21:29

Grin I can't stand interminable analysis, even in tennis! It rarely if ever touches on the thing that are actually interesting to me anyway it's so yawnsville.

Hope you manage to watch your film Raahh, do you have a particular one in mind or just any?! They do all blend into one as you say...

Raahh · 04/12/2019 21:35

Oh, anyGrin
I'm on a thread at the moment, where we are discussing that a running theme seems to be 'woman gets hit on head and gets amnesia'. That happens a lot in Christmas films. Grin.

Raahh · 04/12/2019 21:38

Blimey. I thought the analysis was over.

But no. They are just saying the same thing all over again.

It's a bit like listening to Paris masters.

Rafa is married, dontcha you know. Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 04/12/2019 21:46

DH was watching footy on Amazon yesterday - it just seemed wrong - I’ve only just got used to watching tennis on it - it is a rip off. If you follow sport you need sky, Amazon,bt which costs £££ - Netflix will probably get in on the act as well.

I’m missing the tennis Sad

We have our Christmas tree up but it is naked! Will hopefully get round to decorating it soon Xmas Hmm

Raahh · 04/12/2019 21:51

I put mine up on Sunday- it took me ages as my heart wasn't in it, and I got very stressed and shouty. I took the lights off 4 times.

Now that I've got the telly DS has asked me to sew a button on his school trousers!

Raahh · 04/12/2019 21:53

Kids, eh?

DD1 usually gives me something to wash at about 10.30.

JaneJeffer · 04/12/2019 22:00

Little darlings Grin

Fizzywinegum · 04/12/2019 22:03

We’ve have had ours since Sunday (it’s a real one) but I had a mini Christmas strop so it’s only just been put up today - probably won’t get decorated until the weekend. It does smell nice though - I need to find my Christmas spirit - a nice picture of Rafa in a Christmas jumper might help Xmas Smile

PrivateSpidey · 04/12/2019 22:33
Grin I think that would help in any situation Fizzy Grin

I'm sure last year there were loads of pictures of tennis players and their Christmas trees - sadly lacking this year. Maybe it's a bit early? They'd better get on with it!

We haven't got our tree yet - last year we got it on about 23rd Dec and it was only a fiver! But this yes I want to get one earlier as we are finally in our new house...

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 04/12/2019 22:41

Yes Spidey I seem to remember pictures of tennis players doing their Christmas trees - surely Stan will oblige?

I think my strop was about it all being too early but I think leaving it til the 23rd is a bit too late even for me Xmas Smile

magimedi · 04/12/2019 22:46

Hallo! I thought this thread had died.

Haven't been posting as have had awful IBS probs (first time ever & am very, very, cross with my guts for letting me down)

Feeling fine now & am counting down the days until we go to France for Xmas avec mes PGC (and DS & DiL!). Am so excited about seeing nearly 5 &nearly 2 year olds on 25/12!!

Not bothering to put up a tree or any decs ici.

Fizzywinegum · 04/12/2019 22:52

Hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family magi and hope your tummy is ok Flowers

PrivateSpidey · 04/12/2019 23:16

Sorry to hear about the ibs magi - hopefully a one off. Your Christmas plans sound lovely.

Yes surely we can count on Stan to post some festive photos for us! Please Stan! Crumbs - that's all we ask!! Ok well maybe magi wouldn't look forward to that - so hopefully Stefanos will post some too. Something for everyone!Grin

You have my sympathy magi. My guts have no consideration for me whatsoever! Hope you have a lovely time in France.

JaneJeffer · 05/12/2019 08:11

Jack Sock got engaged and posted a video of the proposal. He must have been very confident she wouldn't say no!

Raahh · 05/12/2019 09:19

Your Christmas sounds lovely Magi (apart from the IBS- that sounds about as much fun as Kevin and Keith, so you have my sympathies).

Trees have always gone up around the beginning of advent in our house, as it's like the opposite of those people who have early December birthdays and want the tree up after that- my birthday is the 30th, and ds is the 29th (so I'm often tempted to pack the lot away on Boxing day). The run up to Christmas is the fun bit for me. Can't be bothered with dragging it out after. Grin I do leave things up-, mainly for dd2, though I have been know to take stuff down on NYD. I hate New Year. Pre DC, I used to work right through, birthday, NYE, NYD, the lot.

Which is why I hate it when the dc finish school really late (one year it was the 23rd) and go back around the 8th of January. What do I want to with them in that miserable first week of January? Hmm

Humbug Grin.

magimedi · 05/12/2019 10:14

How are Keith & Kevin, Raahh? Have they fucked off or are you going to have to have the water treatment?

Raahh · 05/12/2019 10:21

I'm getting twinges, and don't feel like I have passed anything (one can't go anywhere I don't think. ). I won't be scanned until the morning of the treatment so it is a waiting game.

It's a pain really. Grin

magimedi · 05/12/2019 11:13

Massive pain. When is the scan? Have you got long to wait?

Raahh · 05/12/2019 11:17

It is on the 17th, if the stones are still there, then I go straight for treatment- armed with my spare pants, towel and headphones Grin.

magimedi · 05/12/2019 11:21

Fingers crossed that they are well gone by Christmas. What a great pressie that would be.
