What time do we need to stop speculating?

Spoiler lands anytime after 11pm

Spoiler lands anytime after 11pm

👍👍

Samcro · 26/10/2019 22:22

late to thread.
was an odd halloween one as the music was so bad.
we voted Chris, Michelle and Alex.
I love Johannes but he doesn't make his partner shine.
Karim is just too smug.
Safron is overmarked and a ringer.
liked Kelvins dance.

Clawdy · 26/10/2019 22:24

Catherine was irritating on Corrie, and irritating on Strictly. Hope she goes soon, but don't see that happening.

Encyclo · 26/10/2019 22:25

I think Michelle, Alex, Kelvin, Saffron and Karim are safe.

Anyone else feel the entire rest of the board is in the danger zone?

100PercentThatBitch · 26/10/2019 22:25

Yes @Clawdy i find something about her so irritating!

xsquared · 26/10/2019 22:26

I voted for Catherine, but mainly because of Johannes. I like their partnership but I wish she would stop saying how the dances make her want to vomit in every single interview.

CoraPirbright · 26/10/2019 22:27

Well done Alex!! Thought Kelvin danced well again and his frame was better (although he had a cunningly placed long coat to hide any bum-sticking-out).

Is it bad of me that I was kind of glad that Karim didnt do very well? I am always irritated by the celeb who claims to be learning how to dance when a quick look at Wikipedia reveals training as a child and time on the west end stage? Ashley Roberts (whilst being a stunning dancer) pissed me off no end last year. I mean, what’s the point?

covetingthepreciousthings · 26/10/2019 22:28

Coveting he has posted on Twitter

There's still no mention of what the injury was though.

Wizzbangpop · 26/10/2019 22:30

Anyone else watching the judges on Jonathan Ross. Is Motsi pregnant? She's wearing a rather unflattering tent.

Samcro · 26/10/2019 22:35

i am sadly not keen on Motsi. I was never a fan of Darcy. but Motsi just shouts a lot.

picklemebrains · 26/10/2019 22:38

Motsi looks different in every outfit. A few she's looked really big in, and in others she's just looked very shapely and lovely.

I think there is something about odd about the Neil thing.

100PercentThatBitch · 26/10/2019 22:39

I like Motsi but she is too relentlessly positive and doesn't constructive critique

Darcy was iconic YAAAAHHH

SchadenfiendeUnmortified · 26/10/2019 22:48

Agree Samcro

I had high hopes of Motsi, but I have been sadly disappointed in her.

ElGuardiandenoche · 26/10/2019 23:02

My DH has just sent me this

www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/live/2019/oct/26/strictly-come-dancing-2019-week-six-live?page=with:block-5db4862a8f0859498cfb3b94#liveblog-navigation

It is quite a good report and amusing along the way. Start at the bottom of page 5 and go back up the page, then 4 etc.

RageAgainstBojosHalloween · 26/10/2019 23:06

Well I watched a different show to you lot cos I enjoyed it. Could be because I had accepted the theming earlier in the week and had worse in my head! Halloween Wink
Not sure it was worth missing a Halloween Karaoke I could have attended though.

Emma B - most disappointing of them for me
Emma W - I enjoyed it a lot, she looked like she was enjoying herself and the hatchet job in the press over a mail to 100 people was Halloween Hmm
Chris - oh my God the tights, the bulge, Vicky Giggles wtf. He tried.
Saffron - Agree needed a hat or sthg but excellent routine
Mike - Did get Aljaz's ears. He tried. Much better than I was expecting.
Karim - Awful VT even if an expalanation of ST was necessary. Also having her as Eleven didn't work remotely in a paso context. Should have choreoed a couple's choice instead.
Cath - Not a good dance to have. Lots of visible coaching (have noticed that far more this series than usual): love Johannes but he needs to learn to underdance her to show her at her best.
Michelle - would have preferred a tango like in the movie but good
Kelvin - very good first chasse/whatever it's called when they come down kicking
Alex - enjoyed it. Kevin learning that in 45 minutes - fair play

WineOrGinOrBoth · 26/10/2019 23:15

👏👏👏 fair play to Kevin stepping in. He did good.

Loved Michelle.

100PercentThatBitch · 26/10/2019 23:20

Beware the internet for the result has landed

RageAgainstBojosHalloween · 26/10/2019 23:24

explanation, even...

All those saying they wouldn't want Monster Mash/Thriller again...no, neither would I but every year I say the following were opportunities missed...

Werewolves of London
She wolf
Dr bones
That ole devil called love
The devil went down to Georgia
Disco inferno
Magic
Could it be magic
Stray cat strut
Black cat
Dark version of Fear the reaper
Strange and beautiful
Female of the species
Black widow
Moon over bourbon street
Mummy do the hump
Monster
Kill of the night
Another one bites the dust
Emperor's new clothes
Dark version of Don't stand so close to me
Heads will roll
This is Halloween
Killing moon
Hedwig's waltz
Men in black
Dark Waltz
Estasi dell anima
Sweet but psycho
Cry little sister
People are strange
Danse macabre
Somebody's watching me

So that's 32 songs they could have chosen from. And probably some more I haven't thought of.

ThursdayLastWeek · 26/10/2019 23:38

Oh wow, you have reached a new thread! I had an actual [shock horror] social life tonight so wil have to catch up with the show and your views tomorrow.

OMG I am v v v drunk Grin

ChoccyJules · 26/10/2019 23:39

We spent a lot of the show wondering how the themes chosen were linked to Halloween. And why Motsi had fallen in custard.

Think it’s Mike’s turn to go, although Chris was poor tonight.

Karim undermarked due to choreography/ridiculous theme chosen and he got one of our votes.

emilybrontescorsett · 27/10/2019 08:45

Karim & Amy were obviously last to be seen by the costume/make-up department.
Did anyone else think Amy looked ridiculous in ankle socks and heels?

I don't care if he has been to stage school, so what?
The vast majority of actors have been to theatre school and had singing lessons/acting lessons/dancing lessons.
They do not rock up to an audition having had zero experience or interest in theatre /sinfing/dancing/performing etc. It just doesn't happen (or incredibly rarely happens).
Just as a world class athlete trains every day. They don't get to 20 years old and suddenly discover that they can perform swan lake perfectly within any previous dance experience.

Anyway I want Karim, Michelle (because I adore Giovanni and think he and Debbie should have won last year) and either Saffron or Kelvin in the final.

I noticed last night what a sharp, snappy dancer AJ is, hadn't noticed before but he is superb.

I don't care for any of the Emma's or Catherine.
Mike is awful.
Chris is a great but doesn't deserve to win
Ditto Will
Alex is a admirable but not as good a dancer as the others.
I don't like Oti. Think she has toned down her God awful shrieking which makes my ears bleed. Maybe someone has had a word with her about it disadvantaging who she is dancing with but she really used to grate on my nerves.
I also think she clearly makes the dance all about her to distract from her partner.
I think Amy isn't a judges favourite and so puts Karim at a disadvantage.
Howled at Karen's wardrobe malfunction.
Dd kept saying her wig is coming off during the dance. Then she ended up with her dress up her arse crack, they deserve to stay in for having to cope with that alone.

Samcro · 27/10/2019 08:49

I really want Saffron/Karim and Mike to go out.
obviously the first 2 won't.
Mike irritates me (even when he is on the bbc thing) Saffron just has the charisma of a plank and reminds me of a mean girl.
Karim annoys me with all his heart stuff and how smug he is.
(wow this clock change has made me mean)
I like Chris and want him to stay in.
I do feel sorry for Atons partner(forget her name) they keep saying they want to see chemistry......with Anton!!!!!

covetingthepreciousthings · 27/10/2019 08:55

Surprised people finding Karim smug, I just don't get that at all from him. I think he always seems really grateful for the experience & thankful. I hope he reaches the final.

bookbook · 27/10/2019 08:55

phew - found you!
Had to watch much later last night , and wizzed through all the bits inbetween the dances .
I can't say I was overwhelmed . The music choices were poor .
Can't say by this morning that any one dance stood out for me much . I enjoyed Michelle , but the music didn't fit `i don't think . Saffron was competent . Karim has incredibly 'fast' feet
Why did they play one of my favourite Police songs ?

I am not seeing the love for Emma W - she is pretty , precise , but lacks something to me - is she afraid of letting herself relax ? She looked like she was being chucked around with all those lifts . In fact due to whizzing of the tape , I'm still not quite sure if it was a Charleston ? She was much too 'demure' - mmm cannot find the right word to describe it.
Really cannot work out who will go , and getting to the stage ( same as Bake off in truth) that I really don't care who does , not connected with any of them this year much .
