SCD 2019: The most frightening part of the Halloween show was everything

There was so much that was good in the show though, very cleverly done and the contestants certainly got into character.

Kevin and Alex were amazing, Saffron and AJ too. As always, Catherine T and the gorgeous Johannes delivered.

God, disappointing night. Where were the spooky costumes? The creative makeup? The spooky dances?

Fucking nowhere.

Forgettable.

Liked Alex. And Kelvin. And ’Giovanni’ s dance but not Michelle.

DD and I both voted for CatJo seeing that she is second bottom of the leader board and I don't want Johannes to go just yet!
We agreed to give a real vote to Alex as we normally like her anyway and she did even better tonight given KFG only had an hour to prepare.

Loch, I didn't like KFG because he got really annoying and OTT with Stacey even though I wanted her to win. When she did win, he made it all about him and he was the one that was being cheered and lifted by the pros. I will admit that he is one of the best dancers and he does very well with his partners. Still didn't like Louise though. He has however gone up in my estimation tonight with his kind words to Alex and kudos for stepping in at short notice.

Kevin has been giving me the fanny flutters for years so glad its not just me.

Voted for Catherine, Chris and Karim. Got a horrible feeling Karim could be in trouble. Mid table.

I enjoyed the show tonight. I thought previous Halloween shows had got rather formulaic with the same songs/same costumes and I enjoyed the changes they made. Also, they coped well considering the injuries!

Forgot to say, I think the comedian should be in the dance off maybe against Anton's celebrity (can never remember names!).

Reminiscent of Katya and Seann I loved that dance.

Hmm...somewhat lacklustre on the whole but I liked Karim & Amy's and though Alex did well so they got my votes as well as Emma W as she's my DD's favourite and I have a soft spot for Aljaz.... I missed Neil though, as he's my favourite male pro ( not a popular opinion I know).

What time do we need to stop speculating about who's in the DO and who'll be eliminated?

I just feel Mike did enough to stay this evening.

I quite liked the change of pace for the Halloween theme but agree that the whole thing seemed a bit flat, presumably because of the two injuries.

I'll admit I'm not a huge Halloween fan anyway. I also had young children who hated the gore and jump-scares so we always had to endure the zombie-apocalypse type themes of earlier years with lots of fast forwarding through the hammy VT (that they thought were quite scary at the time).

So I agree with the PP who said that the producers may have been toning it down for the pre-watershed family audience.

It must be difficult for the producers if they are going to insist on having Halloween as a theme. They can either repeat the same few songs/themes (monster mash AGAIN), get even scarier and gorier, or soften it up.
I would prefer if if they just dropped it now. Perhaps do movie night later when the slebs have developed better performance skills and get a say in their own song choice?

Just checking in after watching the show - definitely not the best Halloween show ever!

I thought maybe the producers had told Motsi and Shirley to stop standing up constantly since it took them till about the 8th dance to do it but it turns out the earlier dances were just a bit crap

Think they were a bit harsh on Karim for some reason and over generous on Alex but I understand why. I know Kevin is a good professional but that is seriously impressive picking a dance up in such a short space of time even if he did go wrong a few times should have been Gorka though Anyone else think it seemed a bit weird that Neil just vanished? How bad an injury was it that he couldn't stick around?

No - injures had nothing to do with the rubbish music, costumes or routines.

I have a weird feeling about this. He's not posted on his Instagram what his injury was just that he was 'injured earlier today'. Just all seems off, hopefully he's back to training on Monday. Maybe there'll be more said tomorrow, if it was a bad injury he wouldn't want to take any attention away from Alex's dance etc..

If I could pick I'd pick Mike, but there's a ton of people on similar scores, that could save Mike this week.

My nightmare would be to lose Catherine (and more importantly Johannes 🙈🙈)

The one night I let my kids stay up to watch it live ‘it’s the Halloween special kids!’ And it’s crap. They spent most of the show asking why each dance was supposed to be anything to do with Halloween 🎃😂 they went to bed before the end. I know they’ll enjoy Alex’s ghostbusters dance, shame it was saved for the end (although they were probably rehearsing for most of the show!)
