I mean, that's fine, and good on them if they can learn from them and it allows them to produce well-cooked and served food, but it's the pretence that they're doing this all by themselves that enrages me.

Having said that, I'm quite sure that some of the previous Sleb contestants were actually good cooks and decent foodies. Emma Kennedy was, I think, and Ade Edmondson. And Emma Thompson. And Proper Greg has the makings of one, I reckon.
