Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

So, the lads are trying to convince Jack he's done the right thing by packing in the army...or are they? Dave's riveting tales of his rocky road to lance corporal are an inspiration.

Meanwhile, somewhere on the River Thames, Donna and slimy Mark the lecturer are having an assignation.

I feel so sad for Dave - they really have travelled a long road together and now they've reached the crossroads.

Mark? Calculating? Never in a day!

Donna has grown up since we first encountered her in series 1 but not sure Dave has matured at the same rate. In fact, he hasn't matured at all.

And yet, despite feeling sad for Dave, I can see exactly why Donna would feel she needs to move on. Dave hasn't evolved a great deal.

That is underhand of Donna to talk about trust.

Now the old flame has left her husband.

Dave definitely adopts the caveman approach.

I think Major Doctor still has feelings for Helen.

So, now Jack is fully able to stand up for himself, so I bet he'll decide to go back and biff the bullies on the nose - jolly japes.

I do like Michael Stubbs. He comes across as a really dependable sort of guy.

Ooh get Laurence Llewellyn Garvey....

I like the way she pronounces liebfraumilch. Haha.

So did Jack go back or not?

German wine has really dropped out of favour since the 80's although we drank a few nice bottles when we were over there on holiday a few years ago. It has a distinct flavour.

I am quite fond of riesling Rhu.

Jack Stubbs goes back to base, realises his locker has been tampered with and then knocks seven bells out of the ringleader.

Sally's time to be surprised at how domesticated Paddy is. A bit forward buying him sheets for his bed..ooh er missus!

Gosh, Paddy's fancy fan over the bed is somewhat out of character for him!

And yet another episode with a happy ending.
