Yes Mel is controlling but Lisa needs to be taken care of. It’s only a matter of time before Phil returns and insists Louise moves back in/must not talk to Lisa or Louise just has a tantrum and stomps back to Phils anyway. Then Lisa is pushed back into a taxi and is back to her bedsit life not to be mentioned again for another few years. It is a continuous cycle. If Mel did go to Portugal on her own, Lisa wouldn’t manage the rent on her own and Louise is very unreliable and will end up living between Phil and Karen with nowhere for Lisa to go....

Wouldn’t Sharon be considered a high-risk pregnancy at 49/50? She’d be being closely monitored I would think.

I do find the storyline a bit far-fetched. I know it is possible to be pregnant at that age, but it’s pretty rare without IVF etc., and Sharon also has a history of fertility issues. I know it’s a plot device, but still.

I think it was the eastend supersperm that did it Keanu has fiesty little swimmers but yes pregnancy at 49 would be high risk and rare.

I think Denise was also 49/50 when she had her baby, following that drunken bunk-up with Phil. So it must be something in the local water.
