I’ve just watched the last few games of the fifth set - wow it was nervy stuff and could have gone either way.

I felt anxious watching it even though I knew the outcome. Not sure I could have coped watching it live although it looked like an amazing match - I would have been looking for a dog to hide behind (and we haven’t even got one!)

Off to yoga now - hope I don’t fall asleep!

I'm like a drowned rat after the school run. I am pondering watching the end of the match on replay.

Apparently Rafa couldn't stop crying. Bless him.

But he's rubbish on hard courts, you know...Grin.

I do feel sorry for Medvedev. He seems to have been so determined to win the tournament. If it was anyone but Rafa in the final...

I'm watching the last set now.

I know every time one of the 'Next Gen' wins something ,or beats one of the big 3, they are suddenly flavour of the month and definitely going to win a slam soon, blah blah . But Medvedev seems different to Tsitsipas, Zverev, Khachanov. He has proved himself to be consistent, over a number of weeks.

I hope he doesn't dwell on the loss, because if he keeps this up, he is definitely a massive threat to everyone.

It's funny listening to the commentators - they are Medvedev converts , that's for sure. Grin. As, it seems , are the crowd.

I went to bed after the third set (I had slept through about half an hour of it), and will watch the fourth tonight on replay I hope. Lovely Rafa, I will look forward to crying with him. 19 slams!

Super impressed with Medvedev, I saw him at Queens this summer and he played well there, but he was a different level at the US.

I will enjoy looking out for his and Bianca's matches going forward.

He does seem different from the other next gen players doesn't he? I think he's more ruthless. And he doesn't seem to be affected by what's happening around him etc - he just seems to get on with it.

I saw some clips of the trophy ceremony. The presenter was asking him about his great hardcourt season, and he just answered by saying how brilliant Rafa was, and how 19 slams was unbelievable etc. Nice touch.

Am going to watch the last two sets properly later.

Boooo to the day after a slam though - sad times Sad

I have to say the umpire was a bit of prat- I know Rafa takes ages, but common sense seems to go out of the window with some of them. The code violation at 5-2 was just unnecessary.
