I'm sorry. I know I've said it before, but Stan's backhand is a thing of beauty (except when it goes in the net Grin)

PrivateSpidey · 16/10/2019 20:43

kazza it is. He's my favourite player to watch, when he's in Stanimal mode.

Can't believe Feli sneaked that set in the end. But he did hit some lovely volleys.

These two are just v watchable Grin

Can anyone else hear some sort of noise in the background? Like morse code Confused

Can't believe how many empty seats there are Shock This is a match between two class players, for heavens sake!

kazzaD66 · 16/10/2019 20:50

Wow! What a start to the second set for Stan!

In other news, I see that Querry beat Dimitrov in 3 in Stockholm. And Simon beat Tsonga in straight sets.

kazzaD66 · 16/10/2019 20:51

It's just lovely to see two single handed backhands in the same match private

PrivateSpidey · 16/10/2019 21:05

It is, it's lovely to watch.

I can't hear any Morse code though Grin what with that and the howling last week, I think someone's having a laugh with us Grin

Who is the woman commentator?
"Wawrinka left his flank a little exposed there" ConfusedGrin

PrivateSpidey · 16/10/2019 21:13

Grin I don't know! Her comments make me think of the kind of thing a games teacher would say Grin (well, maybe not the flank thing). I think she was commentating on Shanghai as well.

In any case, no-one should be going around with their flanks exposed tbh Grin

I'm not sure about the 90s Europop at the changeover Hmm

Going back to what you said earlier kazza - yes why is the crowd so sparse?? If this was a match at a Slam, it'd be packed out.

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 16/10/2019 21:34

I know. This is a really good match and there's hardly anyone there.

PrivateSpidey · 16/10/2019 21:48

It's still really close isn't it? After the second set I thought Stan might run away with it but no.

kazzaD66 · 16/10/2019 21:58

Who's the bloke in Lopez's box with a dark jumper tied over his shoulders? I'm sure he was an umpire but I can't remember his name.

PrivateSpidey · 16/10/2019 22:06

Not sure - I just keep seeing the guy in the white top Confused

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 16/10/2019 22:08

The other guy is immediately to the left of white top bloke (or the right as we look at it )

kazzaD66 · 16/10/2019 22:12

Well, that was a very entertaining match. Shame to see either lose.

Stan still has a red nose GrinBear

PrivateSpidey · 16/10/2019 22:51

Got called upstairs at 5-4 in the tiebreak as DS "couldn't sleep" - put an audiobook on for him and ended up falling asleep myself! Hmm

Just watched the last few points now and Stan's post match interview. In front of about two people in the crowd Hmm

Good match though, both played well. Stan plays Simon next.

Andy plays again tomorrow - 6.30pm. Goffin plays as well - although it said "FB" next to his name Confused Maybe that's Flemish for TBA?!

I've just seen that Murray has won the first set against Cuevas.

I'm more excited about Rafa's upcoming wedding though. Because I am sad like that Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 17/10/2019 18:59

The Stan/Feli match sounded good - I enjoyed the Mumsnet commentary Smile

I might watch the rest of the Murray match - wonder why the crowds are so small?

I’m also excited about Rafa’s wedding Raahh - really hope we get to see some pictures. My DM said we should get a flight over to Mallorca - I think she was joking Grin

Fizzywinegum · 17/10/2019 19:02

Oh the crowd looks a bit bigger tonight - almost a full house! Murray seems to be playing well. Kim’s going to have to hold on a bit longer if he’s going to stay in the tournament!

Raahh · 17/10/2019 19:05

Fizzy Grin

Poor Kim. I bet she sighed and just said ok, go to Belgium. I'll ring you if If anything happens.

Hopefully she is slobbing in comfy pjs and eating chocolate.

Which is highly unlikely with 2 toddlers jumping all over her shouting 'mummy can you just ....' every 2 minutes Grin .

Raahh · 17/10/2019 19:09

I had reasonable age gaps with mine (Ds was 8, and dd1 4, when dd2 was born)- but the pregnancy was not fun. I was drinking gaviscon like water and couldn't walk properly from 4.5 months.

I found the best thing for heart burn was McDonalds vanilla milkshake. Banana was better, but never strawberry or chocolate - dh used to have to go to the 24 hour drive through late at night. It was just like the adverts Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 17/10/2019 19:17

Grin now that's a good advert for McDonald's if ever I heard one!

I used to eat about 5 bloody Gregg's iced buns a day! When PG I hasten to add. I've managed to cut down a bit since Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 17/10/2019 19:27

I was much better with dd1- for the first few months , I craved watermelon. Then the heart burn kicked in, and milkshake took over.
And yes, they were both born with a full head of hair.

Ds was bald. I had no heartburn.

Funniest thing- since dd1 was 6- she has asked for a water melon every Christmas Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 17/10/2019 19:28

I can’t really remember having cravings when I was pregnant although I did have heartburn - someone told me that I would have a hairy baby and I did Grin

5 Greggs iced buns a day is pretty good going Private Grin

I’ve just been scouring MajorcaDailyBulletin for Rafa wedding news - apparently Rafa or Xisca will be visiting the venue to check on final arrangements (probably more likely to be Xisca!)

They had their stag and hen dos in Palma this weekend and then Rafa had dinner with his family and his two Nans (aah!)
