First thread here.

You miserable lot, I loved that, thought it was adorable!

Also, I didn't get the fuss about Danny Mac when he was on the show, but he's downright beautiful with stubble and glasses. 🥰

Hasn't Karen had a lot of duffers? I hadn't realised.

m00rfarm · 14/09/2019 20:48

I did not even recognise Danny Mac - only his voice!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 14/09/2019 20:54

Me neither, had no idea that was Danny Mac - I was transfixed! Lucky Oti!

ellenanora5 · 14/09/2019 21:03

I quite enjoyed that, but having seen Neil now I'm not sure I'm a fan, I didn't recognise Danny at first and then I remembered how annoyed I was him and Oti didn't win, they should have, as Alexandra Bourke should have won.

Anyway looking forward to next week Smile

Horehound · 14/09/2019 21:07

I laughed loads throughout that. And my mum messaged me to thank me for telling her to watch it. Was just light fun on a Saturday night.
Jeez some people are hard to please

KurriKawari · 14/09/2019 22:02

Reminded me how the couple I want to win, rarely does.
Was Tristan McManus on today's episode? He will always be my fave pro.

ChicCroissant · 14/09/2019 22:04

I liked it!

BiscuitMachine · 14/09/2019 22:39

I liked it, ''twas a bit cheesy, but that's Strictly...

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/09/2019 00:51

Is it worth watching on catch-up? I had friends around for the last night of the proms so didn't watch.

@PolkadotsAndMoonbeams

Yep, deffo! It's a fun, light hearted show.

SoupDragon · 15/09/2019 07:19

should have won.

There is no definitive "should have won". The vast majority of voters have no dance credentials whatsoever and therefore vote for whichever they have enjoyed, not whichever is technically the best.

covetingthepreciousthings · 15/09/2019 09:28

I watched last night and enjoyed it.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing Johannes this season with a partner, I think he'll be great to watch.

Brought back my feelings of - Danny woz robbed Angry

Week one songs & dances are up!

Three lions foxtrot Confused & a samba in week one Hmm

xsquared · 18/09/2019 14:10

Didn't Graham Swann also do a samba in week 1? Best to get it out of the way I suppose.

kazzaD66 · 18/09/2019 17:23

Oh ffs!
I know we've said it ad nauseum on here but I really wish they didn't throw virtually every bloody dance in during the first few weeks. It really was so much better when they started off with the cha cha and a waltz.

It doesn't even say what dances Aljaz and Joe Varney are doing, just their songs.

As for Three Lions Hmm I don't dislike it but the only dance to that is a drunken shuffle on the terraces. Just because David was a footballer! Someone clearly thought it was witty, when it's just bollocks Angry I feel sorry for him and Nadiya.

Is everyone dancing on Saturday night? Thank God I'm out, so will watch back on Sunday and fast forward all the crap - the judges twirling on, dodgy VTs, Tess, the usual rubbish.....Grin If they are all dancing, it's going to be a long night Wink

Wasn't there a time when they split the first week, either half and half on the Friday and Saturday nights or two consecutive Saturdays? I could just be making that up Confused

ChicCroissant · 18/09/2019 17:31

They have definitely split the earlier shows before kazza, they split it with half the contestants (it was a male/female celeb split at least once). I know there is usually no voting now for the first week but all 14 together is a very long show.

iklboo · 18/09/2019 17:38

Johannes came across very well I thought. Quite twinkly. I bet he's very naughty & gossipy backstage.

covetingthepreciousthings · 18/09/2019 19:41

I thought last year they split the first show too. I'm a bit put out that they aren't doing that again, I'd much rather them split it.

kazzaD66 · 18/09/2019 20:59

I'm afraid I don't like Johannes. He seems to be his biggest fan Hmm

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 18/09/2019 21:28

Finally watched the professionals show tonight - it was light-hearted and fun. DS and I had great fun howling "DANNY WUZ ROBBED" every time either he or Ore were on screen, and we were also weeping with laughter at their straight-faced listing of all the "iconic dances" without once mentioning Jay's jive - 4.5 million views on YouTube now 😂

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 18/09/2019 21:28

I wasn't that keen on Johannes either. Have to wait and see whether he grows on me over the series.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 18/09/2019 21:56

kazza those are both cha cha.

OP posts:
InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 18/09/2019 23:45

I feel the same about Johannes @kazzaD66

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 18/09/2019 23:58

Thanks for the list coveting - what a cough diverse selection.

I'm intrigued by Johannes!

I'm catching up Ru Paul's Drag Race (no spoilers, only on season 8!) and I'm expecting big things from Michelle and Gio. Don't disappoint me!

Drag Race UK is airing from early October but the Beeb are only showing it on iPlayer (BBC3). I'm not saying it'll be any good or anything but you'd think they could stick it on BBC1 or 2 late night, it's only an hour a week. I mention it as not only is Michelle Visage a judge but AJ and his brother are choreographers according to the blurb I read!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 19/09/2019 00:06

Three Lions is just silly. I'm already cringing at the amount of daft props, costumes and lighting projection effects that are going to be thrown at many of these.

I bet David and Nadiya are going to dance in football strips and knee socks.

The show is 7:00 - 9:20pm. Don't get me wrong it's a long show but is that enough time for 15 couples to VT, dance and be judged plus an opening pro number, judges'
entrance and the Clauditorium stuff?

It usually works out as 10mins per couple. Tess is going to struggle to keep this on track! Have I miscalculated?
