I am completely and unashamedly looking forward to ! Just 2 weeks to go...

Considering how major a character he was in the series, there wasn't much Bates in the film, was there?

Bates had only 2 lines in the whole film I think.

When they were on about making sure the palace footmen were indisposed, I was really rooting for Bates: “Come on, Batesy, secretly murder them all, then find yourself an alibi and a false suspect, then we can spend the rest of the film watching Anna wonder if she married a murderer or not...”

The actual plan was a lot more lame.

I went last night. It had no real story and some parts were silly but I still really enjoyed it.

Yes @SachaStark! I'm still not convinced he didn't murder his first wife...

I thought it was ok but agree with those who said it felt like a Christmas special with no real depth of plot. Costumes and settings were lovely and loved Maggie Smith's one liners but should have been more to her storyline.
