I’m looking forward to it. I just hope they let Edith remain happy.

EugenesAxe · 29/08/2019 23:14

Umm... yeah me! I do expect lovely Dame Maggie to provide the best moments.

Q ideas for anyone in the interview :

What was your favourite costume or prop & any reason for it?

Did you learn any interesting history while researching your role or acting in the film?

Did the locations you filmed in have any exciting secrets?

AppleKatie · 29/08/2019 23:20

I can’t wait! I’ll have to wait til Friday night but yy to going alone so nobody spoils it!

SleepingStandingUp · 29/08/2019 23:24

I'm so glad it's out in Sept. I'd assumed December time when I shall be busy birthing twins and thus shall never leave the house again!
Taking MIL cos she's cool like me 😂😂

Nat6999 · 29/08/2019 23:29

I'm dragging ds on the opening day, whether he likes it or not. I'm going to watch the whole 6 series again before then.

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 29/08/2019 23:29

Me I can’t wait. Think I’ll have to go alone doubt dh will go with me.
I’ve just rewatched all the episodes on Amazon Prime to get me in the mood.

IdahoGreen · 29/08/2019 23:32

Ask them if someone will give Lady Mary a blood transfusion or a dose or iron or something to make her seem a little less semi-dead and drawly?

And whether Cousin Matthew has come back as a ghost/ his identical twin since Hollywood doesn’t seem to be working out all that well for Dan Stevens?

Really, it should all be about Carson, anyway.

SleepingStandingUp · 30/08/2019 00:03

Hollywood doesn’t seem to be working out all that well for Dan Stevens? he's been a bit distracted with Legion, hardly waiting tables to make ends meat

SleepingStandingUp · 30/08/2019 00:06

Hollywood doesn’t seem to be working out all that well for Dan Stevens?
Have you seen his filmography list since he left? It might not be Hollywood but he's hardly waiting tables to make ends meet.

ValerianV · 30/08/2019 00:14

Meeeeeee

Booked our tickets tonight for the opening night - reclining seats of course.

IdahoGreen · 30/08/2019 00:17

Yes, but it’s all shite. He was supposed to be the Next Big Thing!

Not that I’m particularly attached to Cousin Matthew, as the first Downton episode I watched was the Christmas special where he drives into a tree, and I’ve never bothered with previous seasons.

SleepingStandingUp · 30/08/2019 00:19

They're all meant to be, I'm sure the sensible ones don't believe the hype.

And Legion is not shite.

historysock · 30/08/2019 06:33

I can't wait m'Lady. Currently making my way through all the seasons in TV-they'd the showing one a day in ITV2. Forgot how much I loved it!

historysock · 30/08/2019 06:37

I dont think Dan Stevens has been as big as he thought he would be after leaving either...
Ruined my Christmas that year he came to the unfortunate end via the milk truck. Grin.

AppleKatie · 30/08/2019 07:07

Dan stephens and Lady Sybil both jumped early imo. I guess it’s the kind of thing that either pays off or it doesn’t.

They’ve both done well. But I think they would have done better sticking with it for longer. It’s not like any of them made 10+ years commitment to it.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/08/2019 17:35

I want to know who is playing Queen Mary, as the obvious candidate is already in it! (Maggie Smith)

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/08/2019 17:45

Dan Stevens has done okay - the Beauty and the Beast remake and Legion but I don't think Jessica Brown Findley has done that well. She's on that Harlots show but that's about it, isn't it? And that's nowhere near as successful as Downton was.

@Toddlerteaplease Queen Mary is played by Geraldine James.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/08/2019 18:04

Who's she?!

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/08/2019 18:10

She's a fairly well-known actress and has been in several things over the years. In more recent years she was known for the "bitty!" sketch in Little Britain!!

Can't wait.
Likely to be going along too.
But just got to see all the beautiful scenes on the big screen.

Eeyoreshouse · 01/09/2019 13:22

I'm looking forward to it!

I've just watched the TV series straight through for the third time and the script is beginning to creak Grin

SparkyBlue · 01/09/2019 13:22

Can't wait. My sil is babysitting and DH and myself are going

AppleKatie · 01/09/2019 13:33

My only reservation is Hugh Bonnerville in the trailer sounds like he’s taking the piss with some of his line delivery. He started to do this in the last couple of the tv series too Hmm I hope he doesn’t spoil it!

Rachelover40 · 01/09/2019 13:37

Yes!

SgtFredColon · 01/09/2019 13:42

I wish I was looking forward to it but i thought the trailer looked rubbishSad not sure I’ll bother going.
