This is the thread for Episode 12 (season 3) of The Handmaid's Tale.

We are watching on Channel 4, UK pace and have only seen episodes 1 - 11 so far.

Please, NO SPOILERS.

I can't believe there are only two more episodes - tonight's and the season finale next week. Very patchy series, which picked up last week.

I'm sooooo excited! Hoping it'll be as nerve wracking as last weeks episode!

cushioncovers · 25/08/2019 20:24

Place marking. Although I'm torn. Peaky blinders or handmaidens tale.

CaptainMyCaptain · 25/08/2019 20:31

I've got to go to bed early as I'm getting up at 5.30 to go away so ... Record Handmaid's Tale and Sanditon (not impressed by the trailer but like Jane Austen) and watch Peaky Blinders on catch up another day.

OriginofSpecies · 25/08/2019 20:53

I'll be watching on catch up again unfortunately...

Blessed day, bitches.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 25/08/2019 20:56

I bought tickets to watch La Atwood talk about her new book in the cinema on 10th Sept...

Faircastle · 25/08/2019 21:13

I'm watching; a few minutes behind live broadcast but will hopefully catch up in the first advert break.

MazDazzle · 25/08/2019 21:17

Well that was annoying. The voiceover guy announcing the programme gave a bit of a hint as to what’s going to happen. I hate it when they do that.

mizu · 25/08/2019 21:18

Indeed a bit patchy this series and def picked up last week. Looking forward to watching how on earth they are going to get the children out.

Faircastle · 25/08/2019 21:18

I can't help feeling we're bring set up for a fall.
THT is never optimistic for long.

MoomimWoomin · 25/08/2019 21:20

Ive watched every episode of this season on catch up days later except this one as it has finally picked up

TheSpottedZebra · 25/08/2019 21:23

Ha. He knows she shopped him. Good.
Although he even believes his own hype - that he'd never let anything happen to her. Erm, the finger?

Ontheboardwalk · 25/08/2019 21:30

Go Moira!

inmyfeelings · 25/08/2019 21:30

So glad to see June smiling . I love her !
I also really like seeing Moira and Luke co parent Nicole so effectively .
And glad Serena finally got told by Moira .

neweeeyebrows · 25/08/2019 21:31

The wives’ outfits look green tonight.

Faircastle · 25/08/2019 21:33

When Nichole was in the mediation / visit room, they had overlapping sounds of two babies vocalising at the same time, which was a bit weird.

lonelyonee · 25/08/2019 21:35

Is it bad that I still sort of pity/feel for Serena? I know she's been complicit, but she is still a victim of the regime too 🤷🏼‍♀️

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 25/08/2019 21:35

I missed a chunk following the first advert break! Why is Serena getting visitation? Was it a trade for bringing them Fred? I'm worried the trade included her keeping the baby and Moira's going to return to an empty room!

(They need plotlines for next season!)

Tinkhasflown · 25/08/2019 21:36

The wives ate definitely wearing different colours. The Winslow wife and the one she was sitting beside were in very different shades of blue/green...

Tinkhasflown · 25/08/2019 21:36

Are not ate!

TheSpottedZebra · 25/08/2019 21:36

So that WAS Bradley Whitford and his new RL wife* in the same scene, wasn't it? I thought they didn't appear together.

AutumnCrow · 25/08/2019 21:36

Just catching up.

MazDazzle · 25/08/2019 21:37

Loved the play on words with ‘gender traitor’.

Also thought of CL’s comment last week re. underestimating the maternal bond during the scene between Serena and Fred. She sold him out because of her maternal bond with Nichole/Holly, as warped as that is.

Was worried that Serena might have been getting custody of the baby in exchange for Fred, but the social worker’s comment seems to hint otherwise - ‘you can’t use terms like that’ when she called herself Mama.

Invisimamma · 25/08/2019 21:37

The commanders wife is a liability! Eek!

Speakercube · 25/08/2019 21:38

Blessed be the pineapples
