This is the thread for Episode 12 (season 3) of The Handmaid's Tale.

We are watching on Channel 4, UK pace and have only seen episodes 1 - 11 so far.

Please, NO SPOILERS.

I can't believe there are only two more episodes - tonight's and the season finale next week. Very patchy series, which picked up last week.

It's a very plush holding centre/ prison!

Oh Luke, please punch him...

MoomimWoomin · 25/08/2019 21:41

Yes Luke!! Praise be

hopeishere · 25/08/2019 21:42

Oh June. No. Don't.

Sotiredofthislife · 25/08/2019 21:43

I know she’s a liability but she’s decent...don’t let her die.

Tinkhasflown · 25/08/2019 21:45

Surely she needs her, so June can remain in the house and keep Lawrence on side!

hopeishere · 25/08/2019 21:45

Will the commander go through with it though if his wife is dead? He was only doing it to get her out and to help.

MoobaaMoobaa · 25/08/2019 21:45

won't she be called immediately back to the red centre once there is no more wife in the household?

Sotiredofthislife · 25/08/2019 21:46

Stop smiling.

MerryXmasNoelle · 25/08/2019 21:48

Why let her die?

Gluetap · 25/08/2019 21:50

The colours all seem brighter tonight. In previous episodes they were all quite “cold”. It seems to me that now there is a shift in power they’ve warmed things up.

Tinkhasflown · 25/08/2019 21:51

I don't really get how they could agree a visit for Serena with Nichole. They aren't even related.... it seems a bit of a stretch to me.

IfIShouldFallFromGraceWithGod · 25/08/2019 21:56

I think visitation rights for Serena would be part of the deal for delivering Waterford

hopeishere · 25/08/2019 21:59

Hmmmm. Very slow episode. Next weeks would need to be better.

MazDazzle · 25/08/2019 21:59

No way, that was such a short episode.

inmyfeelings · 25/08/2019 21:59

A shame about Eleanor , I was really looking forward to her being freed with all the children

MazDazzle · 25/08/2019 22:00

Because she was a liability Merry. She slipped up in front of the other wives and was going to run round the street offering to save children. The dead can’t speak.

TheBrilloPad · 25/08/2019 22:00

Does CJoseph know/suspect?? Was that what that look was?

MazDazzle · 25/08/2019 22:01

I thought that look was, you and me are in this together now. Let’s do this!

EmpressLesbianInChair · 25/08/2019 22:02

The voiceover guy announcing the programme gave a bit of a hint as to what’s going to happen. I hate it when they do that.

I have the volume switched off until the Lexus bit starts to avoid voiceover guys.

Frazzled2207 · 25/08/2019 22:04

I don't get why Luke was given access to Waterford (to punch him). Why would they allow that and why would either of them request to see the other? Far fetched IMO

MoobaaMoobaa · 25/08/2019 22:04

I thought he suspected too.

MazDazzle · 25/08/2019 22:05

That’s a good idea Empress. He said something along the lines of, ‘June has a plan, but tragedy strikes,’ so I spent the whole episode waiting for tragedy!

chimichangaz · 25/08/2019 22:05

For one awful minute I thought June was going to put a pillow over her face...
Like a previous pp I would have thought it better for Eleanor to be alive to keep CL onside but I suppose she was just too dangerous.

Did I miss the part where June learned gun skills?! She was very adept at handling that gun in the first scene..

MemorialBeach · 25/08/2019 22:06

Did I miss anything important at the end after June went and stood next to C. Lawrence? My TV picture and sound started breaking up at that point and carried on doing so until halfway through the credits.

MazDazzle · 25/08/2019 22:06

Well, as Luke has custody of the baby, maybe he asked for a meeting with Fred in exchange for Serena’s visit.
