Did anyone see the new Balamory today? The Bohemian Rhapsody moment in the middle of PC Plum's new song was downright bizarre! And was he trying to be Brian May on top of the Palace???

Errrm....I mean....not that I was watching it or anything....

PC Plum has a new song?!?!?!?!?!? NOooooooooo - his line dancing song was my only moment of joy in a week - sacrilege. I will boycot weekdays at 9, 12 and 5 in protest...or maybe not

marthamoo · 20/09/2004 09:53

And what's with the trailer with Miss Hooley in sequins doing a kind of Astaire and Rogers routine? She has cleavage! It shouldn't be allowed.

JuniperDewdrop · 20/09/2004 09:55

I think the writers of Balamory are very tongue in cheek anyway, I mean PC plum for goodness sake!!

I don't watch now as DS2 is at nursery on a morning and has nick jr on most of the time when home (I mean most of the time when he watches of course )

Tessiebear · 20/09/2004 09:58

Am going to go and set the next repeat to record (Kids dont watch it -just for my benefit!)

mumbojumbo · 20/09/2004 10:02

Just tried to post on this and failed!

OMG - it was really strange! Don't like the new songs (what was the Bohemiem Rhapsody thing anyway?) Mind you, ds1 and 2 didn't seem particularly bothered so maybe it's no big thing!

I really should get out more............

motherinferior · 20/09/2004 10:27

Oh no! I missed it! PC Plum no longer singing his wonderful camperama 'I lurve the country' song!

coppertop · 20/09/2004 10:36

Sadly there's no more of PC Plum's camp dance routine either. He just spends his time wandering round with a magnifying glass while Miss Hoolie and a child hide in odd places. The highlight (if you can call it that) is PC Plum playing an electric guitar on the roof, and then the faces spinning around the screen in a Bohemian Rhapsody video-esque kind of way.

I do miss tittering at "Here's your handbag!"

I watched it and was also slightly disturbed with the pc plum song!
I think it was the bit with him on the palace roof with guitar that freaked me out!!
My Dd wasnt sure either, she loved pc plums old song!Oh well, at least he is now looking for criminals instead of checking out the wildlife!

musica · 20/09/2004 17:28

JUST SEEN PC PLUM!!!! Someone has a sense of humour on Balamory. Am actually looking forward to seeing if there are any other new songs (only switched on at PC Plum's song). Anyone missing 'here's your handbag' can find it here

marthamoo · 20/09/2004 17:30

Well a big thumbs up here for the new Plum song- I think it's FAB I just ran into the living room to see it after reading the posts on here this morning. It is soooo camp and tongue-in-cheek - love it! Wonder if it will be released as a single?

Oh yeah...dunno what ds2 thought of it...

tamum · 20/09/2004 17:32

Wow, I assumed the Bohemian Rhapsody comparison was a passing resemblance, not a full-on tribute! I'm speechless. I miss his luttle dance too though.

fio2 · 20/09/2004 17:35

well my two are impressed

minkmama · 20/09/2004 18:15

I was in shock actually as 'i'm just a chicken..' is my fav!! i don't think it's as catchy as the original do you?

did you also notice that they finally changed josie (they tried it ages ago for one episode)?

muddaofsuburbia · 20/09/2004 18:15

The problem is that ds insists I sing the PC Plum song all the time and I've only just learned all the words - and he knows if I've got it wrong. How on earth am I supposed to sing this one - it's a bit prog rock. What's next - the Balamory concept album?

coppertop · 20/09/2004 18:18

Oooh! I'd buy a Balamory album....for my ds's of course. Ahem.

Really don't like the new Plummy song. Trying to hard.

Had to laugh at today's episode when Archie and Edie were donning the panto horse costume and Archie said, 'And I'll come up the rear, as is usual', he was the back end of the horse !!!! That has to be the producers messing with us parents, surely ?!

Can't get used to the new Josie Jump although Ds1 doesn't seem to notice. Also, has Miss Hoolie had hi-lights? I don't think they quite suit her.....

motherinferior · 21/09/2004 13:14

I have to wait till Friday for this. Well, actually I could watch it now as I work from home, but feel I should have the Inferiorettes as my cover, really.

What do you mean no little dance? Horror!

fairydust · 21/09/2004 14:19

I no like the new josie jump she's not got enough energy.

linniewith2 · 21/09/2004 15:44

and her voice is very very deep !!!!!!!!!!!!

LutherTim · 21/09/2004 16:06

I haven't had the pleasure of the new PC Plum song yet although my better half swears that it's hilarious. She's also extremely happy that they've replaced Josie Jump with a larger, deeper voiced incarnation for the very reason that I'm not so happy about it.

Good god.... need adult television.. badly...

motherinferior · 21/09/2004 16:12

LT, I found myself watching the effing Fimbles on my own the other day when girls were doing something more exciting like heading towards the more lethal kitchen cupboards...

64 Zoo Lane, now, THERE's a programme. Especially Victor the crocodile who sounds like Alan Rickman.

batey · 21/09/2004 16:20

Glad it wasn't only me that misses PC Plums old song. The Bihemian Rhapsody thing is very strange, dd2 didn't seem to notice though!

linniewith2 · 22/09/2004 12:55

I keep tuning in to see the plum song and they havn't played it since! They have also changed to words to Miss Hoolies song!
Yes I think she has had highlights done!
