Did anyone see the new Balamory today? The Bohemian Rhapsody moment in the middle of PC Plum's new song was downright bizarre! And was he trying to be Brian May on top of the Palace???

Errrm....I mean....not that I was watching it or anything....

So did anyone else cringe at the tunelessness of Edie's new "Come up and see me sometime" song?

I couldn't help sniggering at PC Plum being spotted in a field with a horsee.

No didnt like her new song at all !
What has being a video director got to do with driving a bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

coppertop · 23/09/2004 09:43

A new song was probaby her reward for getting into a plane flown by Susie "Anything but" Sweet. In some of her more dressed up scenes I thought she looked like Ruby Wax.

Oh no - dd will be horrified, she loves Edie McCredie (she has an imaginary Edie) and will be so upset if she has a new song - better not put Balamory on tonight.

bundle · 23/09/2004 12:00

coppertop, that made me think of that Father Ted classic my lovely horse

Juliehafrancis · 23/09/2004 12:24

It's awful. Why on earth have they changed the songs? We used to love singing and dancing to them (Doh.. I shouldn't of admitted that..should I?!!!) LOL

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 23/09/2004 13:56

Suzy was cr*pping herself in that plane. She even looked scared watching the video back in the nursery.

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 09:34

At least Edie's song was back to normal today much to dd's relief. I quite like Miss Hoolie's new playday song - and at last they've given the poor woman a STORYLINE!!!

linniewith2 · 24/09/2004 09:37

I agree with the songs much better......still waiting for plummies as I missed it on Mon! Sad isnt it its not dd1 wanting to watch its ME lol

SilverLining · 24/09/2004 18:50

Off work today and managed to finally see the new Balamory - laugh out loud the whole programme! From Miss Hoolie with her new highlights looking like a total loon in the cafe pestering those poor children to the hilarious song and dance routine with Archie and Pc Plum struggling to pick her up! And as for Plummy playing the trombone ..... fantastic entertainment!!!this really must be tongue in cheek for children! my DD was walking in and out of the house while I was glued ... perhaps shouldn't own up to that!!!

coppertop · 24/09/2004 18:56

I liked Miss Hoolie's new song and cabaret act.

NOT SEEN THE NEW SONG BUT ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THE SONG MY HUSBAND TAUGHT OUR SON "IM PC PLUM AND I TAKE IT UP THE BUM!!!!" HOW DID I EXPLAIN THAT TO THE NURSERY NURSES? I DIDNT!!!!!!!!

coppertop · 27/09/2004 09:53

If anyone's still eagerly anticipating Plummy's new song, it's on today.

"Clue follow the clue!"

I am totally childish I know but I have been boycotting Balamory (like they care) since we visited whilst they were filming in Tobermorey in the summer and got completely ignored by the cast!! They finished filming and Miss Hoolie and Penny Pocket turned away and disappeared as quick as they could - not even a wave to the little crowd of toddlers and children. Spencer however came over to the kids, posed for photos and chatted with them. It was a five year's old equivalent of me meeting Tom Cruise - such excitement! I appreciate they need a lunch break but "hi kids, how are you all" and a wave wouldn't have hurt. Whenever it's on now I think "huh". As I said, I'm childish!!

Northerner · 28/09/2004 12:43

PMSL @ childminder Sam!!!!

Saw the new Plum song yesterday. Truly bizarre.

melsmum · 28/09/2004 12:54

this has nothing to do with balamory but does anyone elses husband watch cbeebies at the weekend just to see nicole down on all fours wiggling her bum and barking like a dog? im sure mine wideotaped it and showed it to all his non-dad mates!!!

24HrsNotEnough · 28/09/2004 15:29

We love the new Balamory but I also like to entertain myself with alternative scripts for kids progammes...the truth behind the smiles (PC Plum - Miss Hooley & Archie love triangle in Balamory (?), what's the woman in the sweet shop smoking etc.)...and I think it's great when there's a certain amount of 'hidden' fodder for the adults who are watching too(my favourite had to be a programme on Channel 4 or 5, about an old sea dog on a boat, a cat called Bertha and a couple of very funny rats plus a seagul or something that was just down right rude I'd love to get that on video if anyone knows what I'm talking about!)

cazzybabs · 28/09/2004 15:39

I always thought Archie was gay - the pink house and last time I saw it he was wearing a pink jumper!

And why does everyone call Miss Hooley Miss Hooley when she calls all the adults by the first names.

And while I am on it...

the ratio of adults to children in the nursery?

how many times Mis Hooley leave the children unsupervised while she talks to adults?

24HrsNotEnough · 28/09/2004 15:49

I was going to mention the unattended children thing but thought I'd waffled on long enough!

Maybe its a domination thing with 'Miss' Hooley, Plummers looks like he'd be up for a bit of that, he's already got the handcuffs!

linniewith2 · 28/09/2004 18:15

Well I did think Miss Hoolie a bit of a tart when she asked all the men in balamory to the beach ! what was she hoping for..............?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

coppertop · 28/09/2004 18:19

When they're singing the song about which coloured house are they going to, why do they add the green house in there. No one in Balamory has ever gone to the green house! (apart from Miss Hoolie at the end of the episode).

OP posts:
motherinferior · 28/09/2004 19:08

and of COURSE Archie and Plummy 'played tennis' at the beach. If I've said it once I've said it a million times....

magz · 28/09/2004 21:49

Re Nicole - yes my husband fancies her big time too. But not as much as I fancy Chris though - have you seen him in bed doing his new bedtime song? Adorable.

24HrsNotEnough · 28/09/2004 22:27

yay! another Chris fan! Wonder if he has a website...or webcam...

TraceyP · 29/09/2004 09:15

OMG - did you see Superhero Surfing Archie's Beach Boys number this morning? I'm lost for words. What the hell was all THAT about!!
