Silly them killing 2 of their oh so desperately needed fertile incubators for passing a message on. When Gilead has as we have seen many other measures of punishing and preventing these sort of things.

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 22:27

Does any one else sob every episode? I need to toughen up

Abra1de · 21/07/2019 22:28

Yes, why not just lop off a limb or take out an eye? Why waste a womb?

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 22:29

I think June will suffer the consequences next episode surely. Something needs to happen with this Hannah business and sharpish, hate to this it but it's getting pretty boring! June is definitely going to go a bit crazy and crack!

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 22:29

@Abra1de agreed!

BambooBoobam · 21/07/2019 22:30

Well Emily let slip at the protest that June handed the baby to her to get her out of Gilead, so I guess that will come back to bite June in the bum.

MadgeMak · 21/07/2019 22:34

People keep referencing Serena being shot and that rendering her infertile but was that actually said, or are we just assuming?

IfIShouldFallFromGraceWithGod · 21/07/2019 22:36

I've reached the don't care about any of the characters stage

DarkHumour · 21/07/2019 22:37

Surely June is on the cusp of some sort of breakdown. There’s no possible way she can escape punishment for endangering the life of a sacred child attacking a pregnant handmaid......or can she Hmm

CurbsideProphet · 21/07/2019 22:38

MadgeMak it was in a flashback. Serena was definitely shot. She was touring her book at the time from what I remember.

Serena was told they were amongst friends at the event, so that's why they were all dancing. Bit like how the men all go to Jezebels, conveniently forgetting that adultery is a sin. It all emphasises how hypocritical Gilead is. Just because there are rules it doesn't mean everyone always follows them.

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 22:45

I am sick of it at the moment, I really don't care about Serena and Fred's warped love story. We get it. Serena is gagging for it and Fred is going to be looped in to having gay sex to get Nichole back. I need something gritty, if that doesn't sound too odd GrinShock

EmpressLesbianInChair · 21/07/2019 22:46

I’ve just remembered Aunt Lydia in the last episode saying that if she could help one soul a day that was enough, & that she wanted to help June.

Presumably this is her idea of help Hmm

But yes, it’s ridiculous that they’re executing handmaids.

Clawdy · 21/07/2019 22:47

So June has caused pain and death just to stand outside the wall of her daughter's school. I'm starting to lose sympathy with her. The poor Martha was hanged, but June is unscathed. And the Mackenzies have moved away! Surely it would have been more feasible for June to be moved miles away.

TheFirstOHN · 21/07/2019 22:52

It is becoming more and more inconsistent and I think it is suffering from no longer having Atwood's writing as a scaffold.

MadgeMak · 21/07/2019 22:57

MadgeMak it was in a flashback. Serena was definitely shot. She was touring her book at the time from what I remember.

Yes I know she was shot, I'm querying whether that actually led to her becoming infertile. I'm not sure it was actually presented as fact, or that we've just assumed.

Ihatesundays · 21/07/2019 22:58

I was expecting a lot of work by the resistance in this series, finally more of a show of people fighting back. Sadly there has been none and instead nothing is happening at all.
Bit of a snoozefest.

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 22:59

@Clawdy agreed. I kinda lost a bit of sympathy for June a few episodes back!

Tinkhasflown · 21/07/2019 23:00

Serena was definitely shot, but I think @MadgeMak is correct in that it has never actually been confirmed that it left her infertile has it?

Knittedjimmychoos · 21/07/2019 23:01

It's so slow.
She was going back to start a revolution.
She's become more and more submerged back into it. There is no sense now to the Lawrence side of the story either..
It's too slow.

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 23:02

Just a quick note to instagram users, I totally made a big mistake by following the official Handmaids Tail Instagram completely forgetting its the US and they are several episodes (or series? I'm not quite sure) ahead, I didn't read anything but saw some pictures that didn't add up to UK series! It has to get better than this though HmmConfused

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 23:02

*tale

EvilTwins · 21/07/2019 23:03

I assumed that June got away with the school visit because of what her walking partner said as June was attaching her - she said that Aunt Lydia had told her to spy on June and she’d reported the Martha. She said she’d “saved” June so I assume that she reported the Martha as being at fault and not June.

I spent the whole event that Fred & Serena were at wondering if the wives get pissed off at always having to wear the same colour. No opportunity to jazz it up a bit.

clarissa469 · 21/07/2019 23:11

@EvilTwins lol me too, I was thinking "I wonder if they all got creative before the ball and had a girly night making green hair pins and making headbands with that horrible green vale. Serena looks exceptionally boring, as usual."

EtonM3ss · 21/07/2019 23:12

When did Moira kill a commander?

Spudina · 21/07/2019 23:13

Can anyone please remind me who Emily poisoned. It was in the Colony wasn't it? I can half remember something...
