Yes Stan would cheer us up with his bears and wine - he’d probably do us a BBQ as well Smile

PrivateIsles · 12/07/2019 22:52

Grin Stan if you're out there, reading - we need you.

JaneJeffer · 12/07/2019 22:53

bear call'Grin Grin
You'd better believe it!

CilantroChili · 12/07/2019 23:44

I’m feeling slightly better. Only slightly. I remembered my 2nd packet of hunky dorys and I’m polishing off the wine now

I believe Rafa, given a handier draw, could have won. Both he and Roger would (will in RF’s case) have to beat 2 GOATs

Who’s pointy arse played, really, barr “The Spaniard” today

The80sweregreat · 13/07/2019 08:40

The weather at Wimbledon has been a lot better since they built those roofs ( or is it rooves?)
Must have cost a fortune over the years

magimedi · 13/07/2019 08:55

I remember the year the first roof went on Centre Court - they had no rain that year at all.

The80sweregreat · 13/07/2019 09:01

The roof has caused climate change ! ?
Have to ask Carol Kirkwood about all that
She will know
( or Tim)
They moved the dates from mid June to end of June because of the rain as well
It was bad in the 70 and 80 s they had to build the roof to keep Cliff Richard from singing

Come on Simona!

Yes! Come on Simona, and Allez! Mahut and RV.

I can't get motivated this morning.

kazzaD66 · 13/07/2019 11:15

Loving all the Stan Bear talk.
He looks as though he knows how to enjoy himself.
He could take us out on his boat, cook us a BBQ, supply the vino and cuddly Bear and generally take our minds of Wimbledon Grin

As you know, if we talk about it enough, it will become real Grin

Raahh · 13/07/2019 11:19

kazza it is real. Grinthere is a whole parallel world where Delpo wears woolly jumpers, Stan does good deeds with his army of bears, and Hard Hat him is busy over seeing construction of car parks.

JaneJeffer · 13/07/2019 11:27

Ode to Wimbledon

My heart is a mess.
My liver is a mess.
My hair is a mess.
My house is a mess.
And that's the tea, sis.

PrivateIsles · 13/07/2019 11:42

Grin love it Jane

I can relate.

Raahh love your tennis thread alternative reality summary Grin also we'll be able to relax by watching Phil et Susie, it would be fab.

Fizzywinegum · 13/07/2019 12:08

I want to live in the alternative reality tennis world Smile

Love the ode Jane - just about sums me up Grin

Raahh · 13/07/2019 12:53

Jane GrinThat very much sums up how I feel at this moment- and this thread. Grin

Private Phil and SusieGrin- yes they can get Tim on to give tips on finances.

I have just had to got shopping with nearly 13 year old dd1, who decided she didn't really want to be there, even though the trip was purely for her benefit (about 3 of her friends have birthdays this week- last week of term). It was painful.

I need to hit the Pimms . Grin

Raahh · 13/07/2019 12:55

Jane that poem reminds me of the woman who wrote a song for Roland Garros. Maybe you should set it to music, and get it played over the closing credits on Sunday. Grin.

Raahh · 13/07/2019 12:57

The end of the quad tennis was good. The winner, Dylan Alcott is Australian and very funny. It was quite emotional.

Raahh · 13/07/2019 13:17

Sorry, Pam you are talking rubbish.

The fact it was a male umpire at the US Open, makes not odds- and you don't change the rules on code violations, just because it's a final Hmm and what she really means , is it was Serena . Who they all think can do no wrong. The Umpire was not in the wrong. She was.Several times.

Raahh · 13/07/2019 13:17

*no

Raahh · 13/07/2019 13:52

I might miss the doubles after all.

I appear to have agreed to go to Ikea later.

Hmm

(And Jane everytime I open this thread, I have 'Firework' going through my head. Thank for that Grin).

And I may have heard the word 'mom' too many times in the last few minutes...

GrouchyKiwi · 13/07/2019 14:07

Come on Simona!

JaneJeffer · 13/07/2019 14:08

Ok my kitchen is looking better now. Well it's all relative isn't it. And I managed to avoid the build up because I can't take the Serena fest.

Raahh I thought that woman was you Grin

What time is acceptable to have a drink at on a Saturday?
