I'd love for Tony Beak to become the new judge but I think he enjoys the dancing too much.

I doubt it - he can always dance with Erin in the Spring. Plus he has twins and he has applied for the job before. He did a decent job of judging a children in need Strictly special.
He was also flavour of the month in the days of Brucie and when he did some of his own presenting and was seen as an heir apparent.
But...then you had the series with Laila, Tess and Claud did their double act at a time when BBC needed more women represented, Claud is on a huge contracted salary anyway, Shirley did a good audition allegedly and meant they didn't get the you're still against older women complaints and sadly, Tony Beak polarises.
He is very popular with a demographic of Strictly but when your fellow judge Craig slags off your Latin publicly that makes it difficult for you to judge it. Shame as I am a Fanton and think he'd do a good job personally but like Karen, he is marmite on forums.

I think Anton is OK in very small doses, but given the judges’ platform I think he’d rapidly become unbearable. He’d reach the levels of annoying that took Len 15(?) series to perfect in about two episodes.

His real name is Anthony Paul Beke so on threads of yore, saying Tony Beak used to tickle me. As canoe has also used it on here I cannot remember whether I started it, in which case hurra I inceptioned someone else, picked it up on here in the first place or inceptioned it from Digital Spy or Monkseal. Gloti was mine though, back when Oti was like the cat with the cream paired with Danny Mac

I love Celebrity Gogglebox. It has made me laugh out loud over the last month except last week's which was dull. I actually Like DVO on it, Eddie and her seem really happy together and I'm a sucker for a happy ending (Jay Kay with the hats wrote Little L about DVO iirc and it wasn't very flattering).
DVO sounds like some kind of digital recording channel. I used to call her Denise Titsouten in her something for the weekend days but given that that was nearly 20 years ago and her ladette image is long gone (and probably misogynistic of me to boot) I will desist. I know no-one will ever forget her 'I just sat on a chair' but I much preferred her over Louis.
Never understood how Louis won, never saw chemistry between him and Flavia, more a maternal eyeroll vibe. Kimber annoyed me. Denise and James should have won it for pulling off a showdance that had the acro-type lifts in they were meant to emulate in Brenda's snowdance days. I also loved her paso and tango.

Yes, much as I am at DVO she was brilliant on Strictly, I loved the dance she and James did to 'Walk like an Egyptian'. Charleston?

Well I love Anton i thought he would have been a great replacement for Len or presenter I don't rate Claudia winkleman at all but hey ho. Shirley seems lovely though Ive watched her on other things and she comes across pretty genuine and kind.

She pulled no punches, and she was obsessed with "sexing up" the dances, but everything she said was fair and reasoned and her criticism was constructive. I can't say I ever noticed her play favourites unlike some other female judgesI could mention.

Exactly. Out of all the judges opinions it was always hers and Len's/Craig's I was interested in.

Craig's is really the only feedback I listen to. Yes, he is blunt (as is his "brief" as the Villain I imagine!) but he usually speaks the truth and gives them something to work on.

I like the new contempowaft/street/jazz dances.

I'm hoping to be able to participate a bit more in Strictly threads this year - DD is pretty much old enough to watch with me, so we can outvote DH and watch live

I can't see them going for a male judge to replace Darcey. I'd love it to be Karen Hardy. And I'm hoping that Neil Jones gets a pro partner this year, assuming he and Katya are both returning.

See, I can't cope with Karen - she reminds me of a fraggle and gurns too much. Loraine Barry does a good job from what I've seen of the Irish version.

I would have voted for Peggy Spencer but wiki tells me she departed for celestial shores in 2016. Shame, she'd have been a treat.

Craig, Shirley, Bruno and potentially one more to be decided/announced.
It will be interesting which way they go - someone from the world of dance, an ex-contestant, an ex-pro or a personality.

Louis was the best dancer in my friend's opinion when she saw the show he did with the other strictly contestants (Harry and Aston).

On Instagram, Bruno has used that currently-popular ageing app for a Strictly reunion 2050 photo, with Darcy, Len and Craig. He didn't change his own face though

Quite a few of the professionals act as judges or consultants on other versions (Camilla Dallerup currently does New Zealand, and I think Brendan did NZ as a judge).

I'd like a ballroom professional as a judge rather than a former contestant tbh. Anton or Karen Hardy would be good, or for someone not connected with the programme Karen Hilton or Joanna Leunis.

He did his world cup of dance recently Schaden - Jay's jive won, and he did reasons to miss Pashpot, I've done his quiz the last two years but fail miserably (as I will this year) with the order of celebs etc Another poster on here was amazing and got all the cryptic ones right
My favourite male pro atm is (based on the little bits he did last series and his work on the South African version) Johannes. I really hope he gets a partner this year even if that means benching Neil or Graziano.
I will always have a soft spot for Trent, loved Tristan's attitude and liked James's choreo.
My favourite female pro atm is Dianne although I do enjoy Katya's choreo. My favourite overall is Aliona and Natalie was lovely after her first series, she deserved a win over here, I also liked Chloe and thought she was short-changed.

And Ian - I liked his work. I loved Gleb and Artem's creativity but neither have impressed me on DWTS.
