Just seen Gorka has posted a statement that he won't be having a partner this year.. interesting someone had commented saying they hoped it was his choice & that he would be spending more time with mum & baby, he replied saying-
"🤷🏻‍♂️ not really, LOL, but I will be 😍"

So seems the choice wasn't his.. which is a shame I hoped it was his decision to take a step back.

On the plus side... Graziano isn't getting a partner either this year, so maybe Neil will be getting a partner after all.

My first thought on hearing the Katya/Neil news was that her indefinite leave to remain must have come through.

Don't particularly like her but she is an excellent dancer and some of her choreography is amazing.

I've just seen Graziano's message and wondered if someone had put it on here. He's still in the group dances but I wasn't that impressed with his choreography next year, Johannes must be paired with a celebrity this year then.

Ooh, I would love to see Johannes with a celeb. I found him mesmerising in every group dance last year.

Have to say as well I'm not fussed about Graziano not having a partner. Far too fond of himself that one.

I'd wait until the programme starts before guaranteeing any pros with a partner, if Gorka only found out recently that he wasn't getting one this year - looks a little flexible still, although they have the celebs now. I am hoping Johannes gets a partner this year as I'd love to see him in the main show. I think there are 9 male professionals and 7 female celebrities and they have said that 2 male professionals (Gorka and Graziano) won't have a partner.

No Gorka. Am pretty gutted about that although won't miss Graziano at all. I know there's a lot of Neil love on here, but I'm not fussed about him - he's a little bit too pleased with himself.

Ah well, just have to hope Aljaz gets a decent partner and isn't out in the first couple of weeks. Having said that, I do love watching Giovanni dance even though he's INCREDIBLY pleased with himself.

Switching Neil for Gorka is a terrible decision. Not keen on Neil at all. Love Gorka.

chic It's basic maths if Graz and Gorks have both said they are being benched...two men had to sit out this year, two were already on the bench. No announcement of new male pros (Nancy was the official replacementfor Pash as more male slebs than females this year) ergo Neil and Hannes are partnered up unless there suddenly came a shock announcement that Brenda was back never gonna happen

Neil's been benched for a while (2years?) I reckon it's time he actually had a contestant. I liked his demos of the classic ballroom dances last year (esp. with Luba). The presentation was a bit but that was probably down to the producers who have to make everything into a silly joke.

I'm always surprised by how many people dislike Neil.
Does anyone know if it's true that he's one of the most talented dancers (awards wise) they've had on the show?
I'm sure other pros have joked about him not taking part in the past because he'd show them all up (think it was Kevin who said similar)?

I'm all for an Alex-Johannes win ppeat but I also like Chris R and Michelle Visage so wouldn't mind them and their respective partners having a shot at the title.
I find Neil perfectly fine - am interested in how his choreo will be and how Katya's will be - and how they compare. He also does deserve a go having been loyal to the show the last two years.
