For those like me who have no self discipline, who binge watched the lot and now wish they hadn’t 😕

....... so I SOBBED at the end but can’t stop watching clips of Dustin and Suzie singing together.

The little chuckle Dustin does at the end makes me want to adopt him 💖💖💖

The ending was really sad. However I’m assuming The American mentioned in the end credits scene is going to be Hopper?

Episode 3 with Will being upset also got me too.

Dustin is my favourite!

Slaymill · 06/07/2019 12:38

I agree it's Hopper I didn't get sad at him dying as I didn't believe it though I did shed a tear at the letter.

Dustin is also my favourite, I guessed Billy would redeem himself as the heavy handed flash back was there for a reason.

CaptainHammer · 06/07/2019 13:15

Yea Billy dying, Joyce hugging Will and giving Eleven a look and then the letter was the sad bit. Hopper is a massive character so unless David Harbour really doesn’t want to play him anymore it’s unlikely he’d actually be dead.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 06/07/2019 13:17

I enjoyed this series a lot but think that Hop's protective father schtick was overdone, Will was underused (again) and Jonathan/Max/Lucas didn't bring much to the party. Steve on the other hand...
Favourite character Murray - I just rate Brett Gelman, he's a damned fine actor.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 06/07/2019 13:21

It could have ended nicely there given Netflix's penchant for only doing 3 seasons of things but I will no doubt watch season 4 and suspect DH will be in it (unless Matthew Modine is back, was he killed off properly, was he a yank?) Would like to see more Paul Reiser next time.
Not sure why Hop would jump into the upside down knowing it was about to be sealed off - he knows how shit it is in there and would be better off taking his chances in the afterlife and being reunited with his daughter.

In E Pluribus Unum Alexei explained about there were many Keys (openings) to the Upside Down in Russia but, none would open.

Except the Hawkins key, I think the explosion caused the Russian key to open and that's why they have a Demogorgon in Kamchatka and Hopper.

Or the American could be Brenner making an interesting season 4.

WhoWants2Know · 06/07/2019 15:16

I am more inclined to think it's Brennan than Hopper that's still alive, and that maybe Season 4 will involve more interaction with the other kids he experimented with.

I kind of hate that Joyce moved her kids away from their friends, and the only people they would ever be able to talk to about all the things that have happened. And poor Max, who watched Billy die and lost her girl friend all at the same time.

icecreamsundae32 · 06/07/2019 22:19

I assumed it was Hop the American... I think Will is such a weedy boring character! I really liked Max & El's friendship. Also knew Billy would sacrifice himself in the end!

CheerfulPotato · 06/07/2019 23:00

I sooooo want Hopper to be alive. Gutted that El and Mike have had to separate 😕

OP posts:
Rozzie18 · 06/07/2019 23:54

I just can’t see how hopper could be alive unless he did jump into the upside down, but we didn’t see a body or his body turning to dust, so it’s very likely he is alive.

I really hope they don’t go down the route of exploring all the other kids that were experimented on. The series is too short as it is and we don’t get enough screen time with all the kids already I don’t want even less time 😂

BananaRama99 · 07/07/2019 00:05

I loved it and finished the whole season in one day. Thought it was a bit slower moving in terms of action at the beginning compared to the two previous seasons, but it was definitely made up for towards the end!!
I cried my eyes out when Hopper died- the letter was so sad.
I can't shake the feeling that he isn't really dead though, and the Russian prison seen with the American has further solidified this theory for me. Doesn't make sense that they would kill off such a popular character unless the actor wanted to leave but I haven't heard anything suggesting that.

WeCameToDance · 07/07/2019 00:23

I just finished it!
Does anybody think that Joyce moving away means an end for all those characters apart from maybe El? Would they really write out Joyce, Will and Jonathan like that? It just seems so selfish. She had no problem considering staying there when planning a date with Hopper but now there's nothing in it for her she's moving her kids away from there support over invested.

StreetwiseHercules · 07/07/2019 00:35

It was utterly glorious. So many great moments.

Billy and Heather doing in Heather’s Parents to American Pie.

All the Steve and Robin stuff. Including lesbian twist.

Murray.

Dustin and Susie pay off.

Ell and Max’s friendship.

Hopper’s sacrifice. Could be alive but don’t see how he could survive.

Starcourt itself. What a set.

The music.

Glorious stuff.

AnguaUberwaldIronfoundersson · 07/07/2019 08:40

Loved season three, glad Billy redeemed himself but gutted he's dead (as evil as he is, the man is just GORGEOUS to watch!)

Loved Dustin and Suzie singing and Erica certainly grew on me. Agree with PP that Will, Mike and Lucas didn't seem to bring as much to the table this season.

Loved all the Steve and Robin stuff, especially the "your kids are here" references.

Did anyone else get HUGE deja vu feelings when watching the Alexei/Hopper/Joyce scenes? I just felt like I'd seen them all before and it was so weird.

Hoping Hopper isn't dead and that next season is about saving him.

I too thought Joyce was a bit mean taking the two boys and El from their friends and loved ones.

CheerfulPotato · 07/07/2019 10:36

I loved Erica 😁

Blown away by the acting talents of all the kids actually.

martingoresnipplechain · 07/07/2019 10:39

We finished it last night...best series by far. Hopper can't be dead though. I think the American might end up being Brenner though.

MsMarvellous · 07/07/2019 10:53

Just finished it. I really thought that was brilliant. The music throughout was wonderfully placed.

Slaymill · 07/07/2019 11:12

I think Brenner may return in Season 4. As a catalyst to El getting her powers back.

You have to wonder how the Russians knew about Hawkins perhaps they had an inside man. In Season 2 when the lab was shut down it was very hush hush unlike season 3 headline news.

I must admit the neck thing with Will annoyed me. @MsMarvellous www.tunefind.com/show/stranger-things/season-3 All the music from Season 3

Dervel · 07/07/2019 17:43

I just can’t even cope with the Dustin and Suzie duet just while everything is going to literal hell in a hand basket, and all the other characters in their various perilous circumstances can do little else but just sit their in a stupefied silence powerless to do anything as they listen on. To top it off the IRONY that’s it’s “never ending story”...

Pure genius.

MsMarvellous · 07/07/2019 18:20

@Slaymill thanks for that!

ALemonyPea · 07/07/2019 21:49

Loved it!

Steve and Robin were great together. I loved how they were in those outfits the whole 8 episodes. Halloween costumes anyone?

Erica was great once she was involved, the ice cream shop scenes made her an annoying character otherwise

Dustin and Susie's sing song was fabulous! I had to rewind it to watch again.

Sobbed at the letter and the goodbyes. Was also upset when Alexei got shot.

I do hope Hopper is the American.

WhoWants2Know · 07/07/2019 21:56

Mike did get on my nerves a bit with his snarky attitude towards Hopper at the beginning and his smothering approach to El.

Seriously, he's what, 12? And he thinks it's clever taking the piss out of the guy that saved all their asses twice?

MillicentMartha · 07/07/2019 22:51

They’re all 16/17 in real life, except Eleven and Will who are 15. It’s been 3 plot years since it started.

I’m sure Hopper is the American, at least I hope so.
