Ooooh -off back to the TV.

Thanks for the Feli bulletin Grin have just tuned in.

magi I am exactly the same , re the non nationalistic thing.

I can even be swayed to support other people in Davis Cup (I was cheering Delpo when he beat Murray the other year).

The scheduling , as we've said, is just annoying- and tomorrow of course - Murray starts his doubles campaign, as we keep being reminded.

With his partner Grin

I will be incensed if they stop showing Rafa to accommodate the doubles. But we of course know it will happen. Especially if they are both later matches (and it's likely- viewing figures and all that shizzle).

They are actually a bit later than normal, putting tomorrow's schedule on the website. Must be giving them a bit of a headache.

Raahh · 03/07/2019 15:49

Just seen that Raonic might win his match. That's something, I suppose.

Raonic can be my Rafa back up (which means he will lose next round).

A lot of noise in the Halep match.

PrivateIsles · 03/07/2019 15:54

Same re the non-patriotic approach (apart from when I was supporting Greg of course Grin)

If anything it has the reverse effect - it annoys me. I want to see good players, whose style I like, personality etc. Nationality is irrelevant really.

That's why I want Verdasco to win today because (although I could be wrong due to viewing the draw on a small screen) if Edmund and Djok keep winning, that's a possible QF which is bound to be on CC Hmm

I've got nothing against Edmund, I'm just not keen on all the flag waving stuff.

Lopez is beautiful. That is all I have to add to the insightful discussion that others are having.

Khachanov - not so much.

Raahh · 03/07/2019 16:00

Private that is how I feel- i want to see good players, not just X because they were born in the same part of the world.

I'm also female- I don't feel I must only watch women's matches. Grin

Halep is in trouble. Won the first set, but looks like she is struggling in this set (you can tell by the noise levels!).

Raahh · 03/07/2019 16:03

I've just flicked through the red button- Azarenka is partnering Barty in the doubles. That's nice. I hope Azarenka isn't too tired though.

Adelie0404 · 03/07/2019 16:04

Blimey, somehow Edmund is 2 sets up. Aided by some double faults and misjudgment by Verdasco. Crowd a bit more than vaguely animated now. It's a good match! (said with air of surprise)

But I know what you mean by the non-patriotic approach. I generally support the Spanish!

Adelie0404 · 03/07/2019 16:10

Actually Verdasco imploding. He's pretty much bewildered by his awful play.
(don't want anyone thinking Edmund winning through sheer genius or anything)

Raahh · 03/07/2019 16:13

Adelie Grin

yes, I've favoured the Spanish players quite a bit- ever since having to finally move on from Srefan. Grin.

I've just seen the Verdasco score Shock

Raahh · 03/07/2019 16:15

AC appears to be wittering a lot.

Just for a change.

Halep is picking up in the 3rd set, and I've spotted that Raonic did win, so that's good.

Raahh · 03/07/2019 16:37

Good win for Halep in the end.

PrivateIsles · 03/07/2019 16:40

Yes she did well there - saw a bit of the last set.

Rafa is last on cc tomorrow and Rog is on Court 1!

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 03/07/2019 16:45

Roger plays Jay Clarke so you'd assume that would be on centre but no. Corrie v Nishikori.

I suppose they think they have to put Roger on No1 at some stage. Hopefully he doesn't get lost round by the bins trying to find his way there Grin

Raahh · 03/07/2019 16:47

I've no doubt Fed's team will have been consulted. And it will probably be a really easy win for him- so if he's got to play on Number 1 once in the tournament, then might as well be an easy match.

Adelie0404 · 03/07/2019 16:51

I’m with DC at swimming and 4G not working so can’t watch, gah!! See Edmunds 3-0 up in the third has yet to translate into an actual win.
How very British of him!

(The Spaniards, generally, do not do this).

Raahh · 03/07/2019 16:56

Adelie Verdasco has taken the 3rd set.

Kyle has the trainer out.

Raahh · 03/07/2019 17:09

Looks like Karen might be close to winning his match against Lopez.

Adelie0404 · 03/07/2019 17:11

Ah, I see Verdasco has done the famous Spanish “reset”- that we know from a certain Mallorcan.

Raahh · 03/07/2019 17:14
Grin

Lopez is fighting back.

Could be too late, but you never know!

Fizzywinegum · 03/07/2019 17:17

I’m sorry but Norrie and Nishikori on centre court Confused? It’s not exactly a popcorn match is it?

Come on Feliciano - I need my faith in tennis restoring (I also tend the favour the Spanish players Grin)

I don’t think Murray is playing until Friday - maybe he’ll knock Djok off centre court.

kazzaD66 · 03/07/2019 17:19

Just flicking through scores whilst ironing.

Vika and Ash won for the loss of one game Raahh so if they continue like that, she should have enough in the tank she's a mum, you know

Raahh · 03/07/2019 17:19

No Fizzy I would describe that as the opposite of a popcorn match.

So Norrie came back from 2 sets down to beat Busta Gut once- he's not exactly set the world alight since.

And Kei isn't really a grass player.

JaneJeffer · 03/07/2019 17:20

I've just tuned in. Vamos Feli
