I liked her hair better last year-those extensions (I assume) don't do much for her. Last year I had hair envy!

100% agree!

Sagradafamiliar · 19/06/2019 16:24

So glad that Lucie is staying!

ffaith · 19/06/2019 16:24

They've filled the programme with male models and Instagrammers and suddenly it's not that interesting any more. Who would have guessed?

Anna gives me the impression that sex is really important in any relationship she has

HollySniffs · 19/06/2019 16:48

When I was a teen I just assumed all models were fanciable but then when I met a few through my ex's line of work I was shocked to find out that's not always the case at all, some just photograph well but you wouldn't fancy them in RL.

Their egos though can be immense (male and female) which is what we're seeing here with the new Tom I think.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 19/06/2019 16:53

Caught up on LI not the thread. Womens Aid are getting a bit of backlash online for doing a public statement on Joe. People saying remember its only one hour of 24 and the producers need a narrative/ build characters.

People also keep mentioning MH of contestants like Amy but piling onto Joe. Which i agree with but i do think its a case of what happens on MN that people just express the same opinion but its considered piling on, but if people didnt state their opinion then there would only be a few posts as it had already been said.

Totur · 19/06/2019 16:53

Maura is possibly used to being the belle of the ball, so it's possibly a shock to her to be in with so many pretty girls. She's very upfront though.

Yewande is acting like a 14 year old - what's her job - I've seen mentions that she is afraid she'll jeopardise her career?

Amber is a mean girl.

Elma's lips were woeful.

Anna's lips also woeful. And all this shite about her being a scientist - she's a pharmacist - just call it a pharmacist.

Amy - I've seen little of really so actually have no opinion on really!

Totur · 19/06/2019 16:54

Tom is not remotely into Maura. Unfortunately for Maura she's coming across as desperate.

Totur · 19/06/2019 16:55

Oh and Lucie has something 'tragic' about her. Can't quite find words to express what I think about her.

Totur · 19/06/2019 16:56

Oh and I think there is major passion between Tommy and MM!

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 19/06/2019 16:57

...with that being said im finding Yewande boring, shes in a couple now and shes not more interesting IMO. Anton i like and feel a bit sorry for. Maura i thinks time is running out. I dont see Curtis and Amy keeping popularity to win. The new guys havent interested me. Its really hard im not sure i like anyone too much in there.

Anton
Lucy
Tommy
maybe Michael and i keep changig my mind over Amber.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 19/06/2019 16:58

Totur she does keep saying " im not used to this"

RainbowPanda · 19/06/2019 17:14

  • According to the Metro it looks like Lucie is staying:-

<a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=metro.co.uk/2019/06/19/love-islands-lucie-donlan-told-joe-garratt-doubts-romance-decides-stay-villa-10013814/" target="_blank">Love Island’s Lucie Donlan told Joe Garratt had doubts about romance as she decides to stay in the villa*

I've really warmed to Mollie-Mae. From that article it sounds like she's been really supportive but honest with Lucie. Has MM ever got involved with the bitching about Lucie with Amy and co? I can't remember.

fancynancyclancy · 19/06/2019 17:15

I can’t bear an episode of will Lucie stay, cry etc.

Zampa · 19/06/2019 17:24

some just photograph well but you wouldn't fancy them in RL

Everyone I know who's ever met Kate Moss says this but bloody hell, she photographs well.

Bellendejour · 19/06/2019 17:36

Not totally convinced by Tommy and MM. I think she had him on the back burner and thinks he’s a bit thick then got a shock with Maura coming in and making an initially successful play for him. MM is lucky Maura went too hard, if she’d played it a bit cooler he might have coupled up with her. I don’t see any real chemistry between them, Tommy’s recoupling speech about having a connection was clearly written by the producers to make it seem like he was going to choose Maura (also with the ambiguous big blue eyes comment). All the stuff he spouted before their snog seemed completely disingenuous given that he was 50-50/had had his head turned 560 degrees etc a day or so before. More like Maura was too intense/forward and he backed off/was put off and MM is the safer option.

With MM I think her interest mainly stems from jealousy/conflict with Maura, so will be interesting to see if it does develop now that’s gone (or even is maintained through Tommy’s friendship with Lucie). Atm they feel like an okay but slightly convenience pairing on both sides.

I don’t know who I am convinced by really... it’s pretty passionless this year (bar Maura who has all the passion for everyone ever)

Fraxion · 19/06/2019 17:42

Maura and Tom are two of a kind, they both think they are all that but sadly they're really not.

itswinetime · 19/06/2019 17:48

I'm not convinced but any of the couples apart from Michael and amber they need a major shakeup in there because it's boring. It feels sup staged each couple get s few shows at the front for a storyline then switch yawn!!

I don't get all the Yewande love she is boring they need some characters in there quick!

Phoningliz · 19/06/2019 18:08

I keep thinking how they could improve the format and save the programme. Also, to make it less adversarial.

I know that it’s not Big Brother, and it’s supposed to be about a luxury lifestyle rather than shopping lists, but I do wish we saw them doing more than just sitting on beanbags and pulling each other for chats. I’d like to see them doing stuff that brings out their personalities - art work, performing etc.

Delatron · 19/06/2019 18:21

I love how they are talking about being a pharmacist like it’s on a par with being a nuclear scientist or something. It’s a good job but nothing out of this world. I guess compared to the rest of them she is of higher intelligence but nothing to shout about...

Phoningliz · 19/06/2019 18:24

I was under the impression that it was a highly trained profession with high levels of responsibility. But now you say that, I’m not so sure.

Proteinshakesandtears · 19/06/2019 18:28

Yeah I thought pharmacists were very educated and well paid.

Proteinshakesandtears · 19/06/2019 18:28

Actually if you Google it, it is very a very highly trained profession.

Dickybow321 · 19/06/2019 18:39

I was under the impression that it was a highly trained profession with high levels of responsibility

It is. Four years of a master's degree then a year's pre-registration training. I'd love to know what Delatron does that gives it the right to be so rude Hmm

MoominMantra · 19/06/2019 18:42

You need physics and chemistry A levels to do Pharmacology. It most certainly isn't a soft option at all!

TatianaLarina · 19/06/2019 18:42

Yeah but it’s what’s you do if you’re not clever enough to be a doctor.
