Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

I can't do Tuesday next week, but Thursday is OK. Happy to give it a miss if it's a problem.

Another good episode. Just realising the number of stories and incidents in proper army life that Soldier Soldier covered. I know there were a lot of series but just makes you realise once more that OG was a bit repetitive. You know medic is outstanding, medic saves the day, medic runs the whole shebang and medic always gets her man, or even somebody else's! 😜

Hi Magi - I think perhaps OG has been limited by focussing on a female medic and not widening it a bit further to include the stories of other female soldiers. I'd really like to see a female officer in charge of 2 Section if that was possible.

I suppose the truth is that it was always Molly's story - how she got out of a dead-end to make something of herself and the first series showing something of what it's like to be a female in that role - even if a lot of liberties were taken. We all wanted more, but it's now Georgie's show. I liked the second series but perhaps it should have ended there with Elvis still alive Sad

Yes Rhu couldn't agree more. Molly's story really had impact and I think it would all have continued in a different way if LT had not returned to Eastenders. I too quite liked series two and feel it is a shame they tried to milk the idea too much after that. Other female soldiers might have been a good idea. Still I suppose I should stop harking back and moaning.

I think you're both right Rhu and Magi. I've not even bothered catching up on the OG filming this time, whereas in the past, I've been agog. I know I'll watch it but for me, it lost all credibility after The Jump in the final episode and if I am honest, it lost something before that - I'm still not over the way Elvis died.

Let's go for Thursday and fingers crossed, I am back in time. I should know by about 7 pm if I'm not going to make it.

Yes, Thursday is good. Will have to try to remember which episode it is and drag my mind back to what is going on - although each story can be usually be viewed without seeing the previous one.
