Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

I think the realities of leaving for a war zone have been handled really well in this episode.

It ends on a very poignant note I feel.

Yes, I believe that's what we agreed. It will be the Tuesdays 13th and 20th for the first two episodes of series 4.

Aw I knew I liked that episode. Liked it once again through your eyes. Bit of depth and feeling and quite well acted I thought. Only another four series to go!

Just thinking back over this series and realising it started in Hong Kong and then the exercises in New Zealand - they seem so long ago - and, of course, Nancy leaving to go on her course. I suppose it's taken us more than three months to get through this one. I hadn't appreciated how long this was.

I think the rest of the series are all 13 episodes too.

Hi again. Sorry for the latest absence . . . Jumped back in, and forgot I was helping at a camp with a group of teenagers for just over a week! I'm going to hunt down Soldier, Soldier so I can binge watch and join you.

That would be brilliant Nickel. As above, we're on a little break until 13th August when we start series 4. ilove and I invested in box set DVD's - well, I've had mine since about the end of series 1 of OG to be honest - but you can also watch all episodes of all series for free on UKTV Drama. The only downside is the adverts and they seem to have cut a few bits out here and there, presumably to shoehorn more adverts than were originally allowed for. It's of its time, but we've enjoyed it none the less. Happy bingeing!

It'd be great if you could join us Nickel! I bought all my DVDs from eBay. I never understood binge watching properly until I started on Soldier Soldier. I did all 80 odd episodes in about 6 weeks.

The sun is shining here too eejit but we've just had a torrential shower and the car is steaming. The garden has taken a real battering while I've been away, that's for sure.

I'm all set for tonight. I know I did the binge watch of all the series in the winter but I can't remember how series 4 starts or what new characters are in it.

Ilove I've just watched it again today in preparation for your watchalong tonight. I had completely forgotten too so am glad I had this chance to revise (sounds like my Homework!). Anyway clue as a memory jog for you - think Dave in hot water over something very personal and some good scenes for Donna.
